Great streak but I’m happy it’s over. He won’t be asked about it every day. He can just focus on playing without distractions or unnecessary pressure.
@@AlltelJohnny12 I remember when Judge hit Home Run number 60. It was seven days to 61 and seven more days to 62. I think the pressure really got to him. If Volpe had gotten to 40 or more, every single at bat would be a question of whether or not he would extend the streak, could he get to 56? I don't think anyone will ever hit in 56 (let alone 57) straight, but it seems like everyone loses their collective sh*t at 30.

@@waldemarcruz6552 Do you know off the top of your head who has the longest on-base streak and what it is? Nobody really cares about such a streak. Maybe if Volpe gets to 70, someone (other than the Yankee announcers) might notice. (The record, btw, is Ted Williams, 84.)

Stanton has gone so cold in the last few games that he's actually hitting for a lower BA than Gleyber Torres; I didn't think that was possible.
But overall, his avg is higher than Torres, so it still produces more than Torres. I guess you like very laky (lazy) players😂

Stanton's batting average for the season is .225; Torres -- who has been pretty much terrible from day one -- has an average of .229. The statement "overall, his avg is higher than Torres" is literally and objectively false.
