  • Chickamauga Battlefield
On our way to Louisiana from Great Smoky Mountains National Park, we made a stop at the Chickamauga portion of the Chickamauga & Chattanooga National Military Park. After getting advice from a park ranger we headed off to explore the battlefield. This is an RV Friendly National Park all stops were made in our 29' Class C.
    Outdoors With John
Hi I’m John and I enjoy being outdoors. I am passionate about hiking, biking (road cycling and mountain biking), backpacking, bikepacking, and snowshoeing. I love traveling in our Class C Motorhome and visiting our national parks. I enjoy the natural and historical aspects of the outdoors and often share that on my videos. I also enjoy putting together videos that capture my adventures. I’m not an expert, and I try not to offer too much advice. If you’re like me, I suspect you’ll find value in most of these adventures.

    Hi John.
    This was very well done.
It shows your good film-making abilities using appropriate music, graphics, and narration.
I watched a long video of this battle recently, was quite a struggle.
    God Bless...

Ken, I have been watching more of those Civil War Battle RUclips videos. I have been working on video for Petersburg National Battlefield , Richmond and Monocacy as well. It really adds to the experience when have actually been there. Take care.

I have a Great Uncle (younger brother of my GGrandfather) buried in the Federal cemetery at Chattanooga. Eric Warrington served with an Ohio Cavalry unit (I'm told). Wounded on 19 Sep 1863, died of his wounds in the hospital the following Apr. Not sure how but 'we' ended up with his sidearm, an 1861 Manhattan revolver. (resides in a trophy case now, forever). And his Grandfather fought in the Revolutionary war. (My mom had a letter that he had once saved Gen. Washington's life.)
I cant get to Chattanooga but I'd sure be grateful if anyone could send a digital photo of Eric's Tombstone.
    Now to watch the video.

      @@OutdoorsWithJohnUSA Thanks John.
If only we'd known when we we visited my uncle, Arthur Warrington, in Murfreesboro the 60's. That entrance building looks beautiful and the grounds too.

@@OutdoorsWithJohnUSA My answer probably sounded incongruous. We didnt know until my sister and I began going thru mom's papers and effects in '96 after she passed on. Sad that we had been that close.

I understand, I am not local, but you might check Facebook to see if there is a group that follows the park or email the park maybe a ranger can help. Good luck!
