I miss season 1, the brothers had so much "hidden" personality in their speech or subtle movements, in the next seasons they kinda fall into a pattern.
I think Todomatsu is the most consistently good VA work through the second and third season. Miyu Irino is a REALLY good Todomatsu. He performs subtleties and absurdities super well. Everyone else got boring, though.
Really? I think I enjoyed the later seasons as well because now we don’t have to guess who any of them are. We know them enough, so they can introduce better storylines. If it stayed like Season 1, though it was a GREAT season, we’d quickly get bored of the same gags. Osomatsu and the others don’t look and act like it, but they are indeed improving throughout the seasons. Osomatsu has gotten more aware that he’s the older brother and now gets more serious when it comes to conflicts, despite not trying to look like it, like with the Omurice duo, when he’s trying to teach them about “sheeeh”. That wouldn’t have worked in the first season, because his only role was to be an asshole older sibling. He’s growing, my boy. Karamatsu was just the scapegoat and punching bag of season 1. Sure, he still kind of is, but no storyline now ends with Karamatsu taking the final blow. I mean, have you SEEN how feral this man has gotten? No respect for anybody but his mom lmao. You mean to tell me you don’t like that he’s finally standing up for himself? He was always one of my least favorites, but I’m still incredibly proud of him. Choromatsu was the straight man, yes? But now, he has shown multiple times that he is just as bad of the rest of those fuckers, and without that character development, we wouldn’t get the self-awareness ball, and Choromatsu gradually showing his true personality. Mans made a whole museum about his accomplishments 😂 Straight man in anime get boring easily, you know. So, sometimes, you gotta share the role. Even Osomatsu and Todomatsu got to be straight men in Season 3, I loved it. Ichimatsu is just cuter now. Sure, he was supposed to be dark and scary in the first season, but the more time he spends with his brothers, the more he learns how to act toward society. The movie was also proof of his character development! Jyushumatsu is honestly the same as ever, I have no idea what you are talking about with him getting boring 😂 Todomatsu was supposed to be cute but manipulative in Season 1, and I gotta admit it was fun to figure out how devilish the man could get. But after that, we know him enough to see through that adorable facade and just admit he’s a shithead with ulterior motives. How could that facade last more than a season? Sorry for the rant, but if you’re asking me, the writers know how to write developing characters and not stay with the same old stuff.

And I personally think all the voice actors did a wonderful job and just kept getting better and better each season! Karamatsu's VA in particular caught my attention because you can hear his English improve through every season.

I mean, after 3 seasons, the boys are bound to grow and change a little, don’t you think so? No matter that it’s a comedy, our lovable NEETS deserve character development.
