    I would love another Fantasia. No pop music though. I think the essence of the projects would be lost. There is so much beautiful classical and jazz music out there. And it's important to introduce it to new generations in creative ways!

      I know, but a similar movie with modern pop music would be pretty awesome with Fantasia serving as inspiration!

      I've had this idea of a third Fantasia for a while, called "Fantasia forever". With the following stories
      1) "Light cavalry overture" by Franz von Suppé (which sees different shapes that fly through the sky. Orange, red and yellow during the day, blue, green and purple during the night)
      2) "Eine Kleine Nachtmusik" by Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart (it's a story about a female mouse scientist who wants to go to the top of the Matterhorn mountain to give the Moon a present, but along the way, three hobo bats want to take said present)
      3) "Peer Gynt suite no. 1" by Edvard Grieg (It's a segment split into four segments in the same setting, but with different moods. "Morning mood" sees a little girl and her sheepdog helping her parents in their farm; hijinks ensue. "Aase's death" sees the evil owner of a factory powered by enslaved chickens to become the king of business. "Anitra's dance" sees a baker and his son in a funny slapstick sequence reminiscent of Charlie Chaplin's "Modern times". "In the hall of the mountain king" sees a group of trolls heading to a cave in a mountain to dance for their mountain king)
      4) "Jupiter, the bringer of jollity" by Gustav Holst (it's a story about astral personifications of constellations and planets as they get ready to celebrate the japanese holiday of "Tanabata" (also known as the Star Festival), much to Zeus (aka Jupiter)'s ire)
      5) "The Sorcerer's apprentice" by Paul Dukas (we all know how this goes, still starring Mickey Mouse, Yen Sid and the magic brooms)
      6) "William tell overture" by Gioacchino Rossini (it sees Goofy as a cowboy and Pluto as his steed who have to save the town of Spooner Gulch from the bandit Dead leg Pete in a wild west setting)
      7) "The Nutcracker suite" by Pyotr Ilyich Tchaikovsky (instead of the version from the first Fantasia, it's a coherent adaptation of "the Nutcracker and the mouse king" by Alexandre Dumas)
      8) "Symphony no. 9" by Ludwig van Beethoven (it's an adaptation of Dante Alighieri's "Divine Comedy" as he goes through Hell, Purgatory, and Heaven to understand the spiritual life)

    I personally love that Stravinsky is represented in both films. Its a real triumph for 20th Century modernist music! I'd love to see a Fantasia with works from living artist around the globe. real titans from their respective countries. Perhaps composers such as John Adams or Philip Glass as well as Tan Dun and Hildur Gudnadottir or Esa-Pekka Salonen

    Fantastia is one of the most original and one of the most incredible Disney movies of all time!
    Fantastia 2000 was a wonderful follow-up and to be honest, of a 3rd one was to happen, I would love to see it. But hopefully they still do 2D animation with it. 😁

    I want more Fantasia content to follow like a Fantasia Evolved movie and a Fantasia+ for Disney+ which is a Fantasia-style anthology series with episodes featuring segments timed to some music as well as some Fantasia-style movies with modern pop music of the 90’s, 2000’s, and beyond!

    they should give Goofy or Minnie a sequence like they did with Mickey and Donald, and sequences with magical animation and storylines

    After seeing this video I am HONESTLY surprised that you didn't mention the 2010 version of The Sorcerer's Apprentice with Nicolas Cage. It's a film that while it isn't perfect, it is enjoyable and it's a movie that I unironically and unabashedly enjoyed.

    • @InnoVision3D
      @InnoVision3D  3 года назад +1

      I kept going back and forth, but ultimately decided against it since it would lead down the rabbit hole of finding every Fantasia reference in film/television (Chernabog’s cameos in House of Mouse for example) and I thought that would drag out the video. Also, the less Nutcracker and the Four Realms is remembered, the better.

    • @wildethang93

      @@InnoVision3D OK then. Your thoughts on Sorcerer's Apprentice, the Nic Cage version?

    • @InnoVision3D
      @InnoVision3D  3 года назад

      I haven’t seen it in about 5 years or so, but I remember enjoying it. It definitely is mindless fun, with some neat effects and a unique way to tell the story of the original. Nic Cage is also a go-to guilty pleasure actor for me and rarely leaves me disappointed, so it already had that going for it.

I adored Fantasia as a kid and I remember making my mom and grandmother drag me to Fantasia 2000 when it released. It solidified a love I have of classical music to this day, specifically jazz due to the Rhapsody in Blue segment of Fantasia 2000. This was a genuine delight to watch, thank you for sharing it!

    Disney ought to try at least once in making both animated and live-action films that are jukebox musicals, and maybe a few Fantasia-like shorts and segments like how the DTV music videos were shown on the Disney Channel years and YEARS ago.
    Like for one thing, there could be a piece of animation set to one of Michael Jackson's most popular songs or even other songs like Footloose, We Will Rock You, Stayin' Alive, etc.

    17:57 So you're saying that the score for the 2017 Disneyland overhaul of Fantasmic isn't completely new?

    • @InnoVision3D
      @InnoVision3D  3 года назад

      While the score was re-recorded for the Disneyland update, most of the newer/changed segments borrowed heavily from Japan’s arrangement. You can hear this most prominently in the Lion King segment.
      That said, it seems to be a fairly common trend with Disney theme park shows nowadays. Tokyo’s 35th anniversary firework show borrows heavily from Disneyland’s 50th (Remember Dream’s Come True), which in turn borrowed heavily from Magic Kingdom’s Wishes. Not really a knock against any of these shows, just an observation of the trend. I will say Fantasmic! is probably the most predominant blend I’ve seen so far.

    • @Shoulderpads-mcgee
      @Shoulderpads-mcgee 2 года назад +1

      I still wish Disney would do something like Warner Bros in presenting their works for historical context and interest while still damming the views of the times. Perhaps the pastoral symphony shouldn’t include racist imagery in the definitive version of the film but could be presented as originally shown in a documentary of sorts?

    • @Shoulderpads-mcgee
      @Shoulderpads-mcgee 2 года назад

      I guess in a way, I don’t good art to die because of bad moments, and I also don’t want impressionable minds to be subject to ugly stereotypes that might color their perception of real world people so it’s good to have that editing. But at the same time, I don’t want Disney to get off the hook for it either and use an edited, widely distributed version of a work like Fantasia convince the public they never did anything racist at all in their past because they’ve hidden it behind a curtain and gaslit their viewers. It’s...complex I suppose.
