Shenfield railway station is on the Great Eastern Main Line in the East of England, serving the town of Shenfield, Essex. As well as being a key interchange for medium- and long-distance services on the main line, it is also the western terminus of a branch line to Southend Victoria and the eastern terminus of the stopping "metro" service to and from London Liverpool Street operated by TfL Rail. It is 20 miles 16 chains (32.51 km) down the line from Liverpool Street and is situated between Brentwood and either Ingatestone on the main line or Billericay on the branch line. Its three-letter station code is SNF. The station was opened in 1843 and has since expanded from its original three platforms to the current six.[3] It sees trains operated by Greater Anglia to main line destinations including Chelmsford, Witham and Ipswich, as well as branch line stations such as Southminster, Braintree, Harwich Town, Colchester Town and Clacton-on-Sea. The exterior of Shenfield station In the future the TfL Rail service will be re-branded as the Elizabeth line as part of the Crossrail project. Eventually, the Elizabeth line service from Shenfield will be extended beyond Liverpool Street through central London to Paddington and onwards to Reading and Heathrow Airport.
Thanks Jacob, I really enjoyed my time here and it’s also nice to be respected by the station staff as well. I highly recommend it if you get chance to go whilst the 321s are still around! 😃
Thank you Viaduction Rail Videos 😃 This is the first time I’ve been to this station but you can bet I will be back! I am currently looking at Penrith as an option in the future although I have a lot of West Coast stations already recorded and I like to mix up the variety 👍🏻
The Greater Anglia Class 720s are so quiet, fast, smooth and the seats are comfortable. And apparently 23 Class 720s are in service which more of them are being delivered. And the Class 745s are also fast, smooth and quiet. I do like Shenfield since platform 6 has been built.
Apparently the Class 322s started out on Stansted Express before they were replaced by the Class 317 and Class 379 and were cascaded to ScotRail for a while. Then when the Class 380s came into service the Class 322s were cascaded down to Northern. And they got replaced by the Class 331 (as well the Class 321/9) to Greater Anglia.
Thanks Lord Everything! 😃⭐️ I will miss the 321s when they’re gone. Also, you can bet I’ll be out on southeastern once the 707s start operating services 😉
Thanks Ben! I was really surprised to see a 317 on this route and there were Lots of friendly drivers as well. If I need cab rides on GA, I know who to come to! 😃

You know I didn't even notice that the inverter sounds of the aventras are different pitches on the class 345 vs the class 720 , the 345s sound lower pitched.
F.L.T. stands for Freight Liner Terminal. It is basically a large area with stacked containers and a crane which distributes the cargo. The acronym saves space on the screen as well 😃
@@StarlifeStudios for GBRf terminals, they wouldn't be called 'Felixtowe North F.L.T' because it is a different terminal for GBRf (Felixstowe North GBRf) and Hams Hall GBRf as Freightliner don't have a terminal at Hams Hall. 'F.L.T' is used for terminals operated by Freightliner though some are like Fliner or Frgtlnr.
I am hoping to visit Three Bridges soon Gabe. I would also like to visit Gatwick Airport itself but since there aren’t any Gatwick Express trains running, I do not feel that it would make an entertaining video.
Truly epic video as always. Shenfield looks an epic railway station to go to especially with the 321's which were still in service. Such a shame that now the 317's and 321's are now getting withdrawn from service and replaced by the new generation of trains :-)
Thank you very much Ricky! This is the first time I have been here for filming and on a nice warm dry day, it was very enjoyable. The GA staff here are lovely as well, they had no problems with me doing my business 😃 Class 317s are rare here as they don't even work the branch lines further east any more so I'm glad I managed to capture this!
@@StarlifeStudios oh so your going through videos that you pre record. I see..... I've also done Trainspotting videos on my own channel about every month! I already did Newcastle back in April 😂it is a good station to record I must say.
