I give thumbs up for Kira Divine, and her dancing. I love that the music is strong, but you either had her vocals turned down too much, or the backing track just pushed too far forward. Gotta get the levels right. Maybe just an intrumental backing track, would suffice? Not going to call Pnau bad, but if your instrument is the production equipment, you might try twisting some knobs, or moving sliders, to bring some flare for the audience. I saw these guys with trombones, and tubas, for crying out loud, in the "Baby" vid. This would be a great song to incorporate live horns, and even a large drum, or gong.
Call me old school but when I play a fkn fortune on festival or concert tickets, I don't expect backing tracks, lip synching or anything of the kind. Once of the attractions of live music is the imperfection, our the artist choosing to sing the song differently. So glad I didn't have to pay for this disappointment. And don't tell me it's about the vibe...may as well go to Spotify.

At splendour they interacted and let the crowd sing, so triple J added that back in because is the radio and it doesnt sound good otherwise. It sounded better in the audience

And what do you mean that the band isn't going anywhere? PNAU had a collaboration with ELTON JOHN, which became 2nd best selling album that year in the UK. He also joined Empire of the Sun, and most of their songs have more than a million views on RUclips... And how on Earth do you expect them to sound the same on stage? The whole song is edited to extreme amounts. And isn't that the experience of going to a live band? To see something different with raw talent...

Liam Unwin exactly... they’re the disguising the real, authentic sound of the vocals by adding layers of other vocals. Not hating though because this is an edm song it’s all about the vibe and not the authenticity

Its not lip synced the singing is live but there is backing tracks used to thicken vocals.
When the backing track can be heard way clearer than the live singer, it can feel pointless.
