Just a quick note, we've since done some testing and found a 25ms delay/lag from a stopwatch to the monitor (through a GH5 setup) - Slightly noticeable of course so you'll have to decide yourself if that is a bit too much for your needs :)
Three comments matey... Included ball-head mount cheaply made so mount it to a screw-on coldshoe (Don't break your cam). Battery plates extortionate price AND Battery too heavy when mounted. Great little monitor but go 12V dc from seperate V-Mount or pack (Makes it all lighter AND get a decent mount)... Apart from that Great bang for buck this one.. Living in the real world.. Montor is great... Connections (Both mechanical and Electronic) leave a lot to be desired. For the switched on and handy person this is great but be prepared to adapt a few things here and there...
I would recommend to purchase a second Canon LP-E6 adapter for this monitor. The reason is that if your battery goes dead in a crucial part of your shoot, you can easily remove the adapter with the battery and put another battery with an adapter already in place. And this is why I recommend doing so. Removing and putting another battery in this Canon battery adapter can take about 2 minutes or longer! It is quite difficult and sometimes it requires a screwdriver to pry off the battery from the stupid adapter. If you use Sony batteries you will have no problems. The battery can be removed from the Sony adapter without a hitch.
question is the power cable voltage? im trying to find a usb version so i can create a rig to into this anker battery to make it portable and so it can draw off of that
Please help, I have the same monitor and once I connect it with my Sony a73 the image appears flat on the monitor? Is this something I can change? I see your image is not flat .
I recently purchased your Lilliput A7s - 7" 4K HDMI Field Monitor. Anybody have any information on what battery it would require to function with a Sony Alpha a6300 4K camera? I would greatly appreciate any help with this.
Hi, can you please upload video when we can clearly see how good/bad is response time between camera monitor and this monitor? I am curious if there is any delay or lag which can not be very good for fast camera movements and action shooting. Thank you in advance
@@ilyaborisov24 I record boats traveling at about 45 - 60 mph. With a tripod. I would imagine any lag or delay would not allow me to track the boats and pan smoothly? Any field monitor out there with 0 delay? Rx10 iv user here.
Hi..I bought the monitor two days ago and loving it especially the peaking and false color function. However, I noticed that when connected to my a7sii, the recording is not displayed in full screen. The monitor is in full screen mode only in playback mode. Is this an issue with the a7sii or the monitor is not supporting full screen while recording for AS7ii?
On the GH5 the focus peaking doesn't work it only locks onto the gh5 monitor info. Also you vlog lut doesn't display which is really annoying and you can't add luts either . Anyone else having these problems? I would think in a review these two items pretty important information. Finally the zoom function doesn't work either which is also rubbish. Buyers beware. If anyone can please do as I'm not sure whether to send back.
Focus peaking works for me with the GH5, zoom does, too. You are not getting the settings right, I'm afraid. LUTs are not supported by this monitor. A bit much to expect at 150 bucks, though.
Hey mate nice video! I bought this monitor last night (a few hours before this video was released) and as far as I can see there's only one other proper video of this monitor in use and I'm really wondering how the lag is between the camera monitor and this monitor? The other video I watched only briefly showed the lag and it was only minor, just wondering what you think of it? Cheers.
+Infocus Designs from my experience I did see lag but very slight. Noticeable if you start to pan the camera and then the monitor catches up, but very minor.
can this be use in conjunction with play memories on another monition...2 monitors going at once...one thru play memories and the other wifi...hope that makes sense?
i don't have that much knowledge about Cinema camera but i am planning to buy URSA mini pro G2 and want to use A7S 7" Full HD Monitor but it doesn't have SDI ports, So how can i use this monitor with URSA mini pro G2 can you please guide me?
Does this act as a external recorder as well I'm shooting with the Sony a7s and the atamos or however you spell it is a bit pricey being 1.3k and I'm assuming it's not a external recorder but I'm just wondering
Hello, my monitor does a weird "beeping" sound/noise when plugged in my GH5S and turning the audio volume up to 30 or more. Is that normal? I believe it is an issue with echo-looping..? (If I plug headphones into the monitor all is OK). THX
Hi John, I have a question. When shooting video viewing the inbuilt lcd screen of dslr, the exposure of the footage captured is exactly what I had viewed while shooting. However, when shooting viewing the Lilliput monitor, I could not know how the captured footage will actually look, exposurewise. Because I need to adjust the brightness, contrast etc of Lilliput monitor,to view clearly. Is live histogram the only resolution?
Hi there! I also got this monitor and I use it with my GH5. Especially in low light, when focus peaking is not so reliable any more. However, I noticed that with the battery in (and also without one), the monitor is too heavy on top. When I turn one of the wheels of the GH5, the entire rig shakes so that I have trouble getting a stable image at 200 focal length. How do you mount the A7S to your camera in a way to prevent this? (I also instantly replaced the head that came with it as you said in your video. :-) )
@@heretorecord I did some more experimenting with rod moutns and stuff, but for a 7" it's probably the only option... clamping it to the tripod somehow. At least for light rigs with these small mirrorless cameras. Might be different for somthing bulky with a heavy and expensive tripod.
It sure does. From a stopwatch to the monitor (through my GH5) I've seen around 25ms. I've seen some things about the HDMI output on GH5s being a little laggy though so it's hard to fully blame the monitor. For fast panning and sudden movements, you will likely see the lag, but for slower pans, it's not really that much of a problem. Up to you though :)
@@heretorecord john, have you tried this monitor with your ATEM TVS HD as a mini multiviewer monitor? If so, do it still lagged? Or it is purely a lag from GH5? Thanks John
Hi, thanks for the video, do you know if it is possible to use it on a canon 80D? the canon 80D records Full HD 1920x1080; but I have read that on monitors like the Feelworld T7 (1920x1200) this happens: "the fucking thing about canon is that except for the most expensive cameras 7d, 6d, 5d, all other models when you click to record it lowers the resolution to 480p and you leave the tiny image in the center of the screen" then my question is: is it referring to the external monitor or the camera screen? because buying the Lilliput to see the small picture would have no purpose. Thanks.
Well there is one more problem with cameras like the Canon 80D using a monitor, not just this Lilliput monitor. The image on the 80D monitor switches off when connected to an external monitor and there is no other way to turn it on. There is no option in the menu if the 80D such as in the 5D Mark III or IV which you can turn on dual display in these cameras. But in the 80D its display will stay off. So if you want to make adjustments on its touch screen you are out of luck. And that is very annoying. However, I have not found the problem you described using the 80D with this monitor. The image will fill the entire screen when you select the 16x9 option on the monitor and it will record 1080p. But the touch screen on the 80D gets disabled and you have to make any adjustments on the external physical controls of the 80D which is a drag.
This monitor has a design fault... I bought this monitor from Amazon and as a monitor, it works well. BUT if you leave a battery connected for any length of time say 4-6hrs with the monitor turned OFF the monitor drains/empties the battery! I contacted the manufacturer about this and this is their reply: "The monitor logic board will still consume battery power even when the monitor is turned off. When installing the battery, the monitor is ready to work and will still consume 70mA power per hour when it is turned off." So there you have it folks straight from the horse’s mouth so to speak.
In my testing with a GH5, I saw a 25ms delay between my stopwatch and what was being displayed on the screen. It's certainly noticeable, but not unusable.

A little bit off the track question, can one use it as a mini 4k monitor for PS4 pro ?
You could indeed do that - might be a little small but just sit close to it ;)
Isn’t the delay more from the camera end? What monitors have you used that gave better/less delay?
I'm been filming with this thing on my samsung nx1 dslr for a couple months... for me thing is a game changer. I love this thing!
