I used this app a while back. The funniest thing that happened was that my cat was meowing before he got food, which the app translated to "im in pain." He also meowed when he just got food which the app translated in "I'm in love". Its a interesting little app and I feel this is an app that kind of learns as you use it more, tho I'm not interested in investing a lot of time into it, personally

No he was making noise but they're really really tiny squeaking noises also there was a little button underneath to where if it said something you didn't think that's what your cat was saying you would put not this cat so you should try it again and see what happens

For instance, if someone goes, "AHHH!" it probably means, "I am surprised." It's like trying to translate a purr. If you want to know what it means, then just try making the noises yourself and see what kind of emotional state you have to be in to empathize. The noises don't need to be actual words or complete thoughts. They're in a mood, so they express that through noise. It's like mood-based onomotopoeia.
I'm willing to bet if you used that app around Brad Jones' cat Lloyd, this video would get triple demonetized! Samuel L. Jackson would ask Lloyd to 'dial it down, dude!'

There's an even better way now to know what your cat wants! (That's not just fun, but actually works) Try the talking buttons! Learning resources recordable buzzers, or fluentpet buttons. It really works, my cat tells me when she wants to go outside and when she wants food. And then if I say "you still have food left, all done no", she'll go and finish the food and then say "all done yes" 😂

that phone app is as accurate as a stopped clock. it's spot-on twice a day.
So it just detects the sound of a cat and generates one of a dozen preselected phrases. Just dandy.
I’ll give them this, it is pretty good at recognizing the meowing. It never triggered from random stuff.
I'd love to see him test it on a recorded meow played over and over, seeing if the results are even remotely consistent.
