Just by your statement about Bangkok, I can tell that you really haven't been anywhere or done anything in Bangkok. There's tons of stuff to do in Bangkok. You have lots of rooftops bars, lots of night markets, lots of floating markets, lots of streetfood venders and streets with a lot of streetfood venders, lots of restaurants, lots of buffets, lots of dinner cruises, lots of temples, lots of car shows, there's a big go kart track. Bangkok offers a lot...you just haven't been anywhere or took time to explore all around Bangkok.

    multiple - entries.
    Easy to get a

    that pays
    10 percent

Hi … I came to Vietnam for several short visits and finally married here in my sixties. I have a 3 year TRC (Temporary Residence Card) , no visa necessary, just show the TRC and German passport at the airport. No need to do or pay anything within the 3 years. Then again 125 $ for the prolongation.

A nice video. I just found it. Some good news. The Vietnamese government just approved the multiple entry, tourist visa up to 3 months effective August 15, 2023. I plan to visit Vietnam soon on vacation from the US. If I like it, I might move there to work or retire someday. Is English spoken a lot there? If living there, can Americans work and make money there? Are they a peaceful, traditional, conservative country? Thanks. 👌🏻

I enjoy Vietnam and your channel but Bangkok is only one small aspect of Thailand. If over fifty, a retirement visa extension in Thailand is not difficult or expensive and in between the reporting requirements are minimal. I report in every 90 days and am able to complete it online.

Of course it's not. Sidewalks are so messed up you can't walk for more than 5 seconds here without risking to twist your ankle. Old Western people like order, peace and quiet while Vietnam is anything but these things.

You can consider Cambodia for retirement.
I picked up a 1 year multiple entry retirement visa extension (ER) after I found an apartment. If you deal with the government offices, it should cost $180 plus $50 from the US Embassy for proof of income. If you apply via a travel agency, it will cost about $300. You will need your newly acquired lease.
You can open a bank account (at least at ABA Bank) with your visa and lease.
I've been here now over 9 months and plan to stay indefinitely.

But, yeah, the visa itself is cheap, but who has or wants to tie up 800k in a Thai bank?

I don't think you've talked about what visa you have? I would choose Taiwan but that's if you want to work . If you Work 5 consecutive years in Taiwan and you receive your permanent residence visa . All work permits or student visa come with bad ass national health care. If you get married to a Taiwanese you get permanent residence visa and open work permit( means you don't have to work or you can do any job not subjective to people sponsoring your visa ) but like fat said if you're having financial problems , don't have gf/bf already there ready to help you than definitely rethink your plans. I was able to get a debit card on a 90 day landing visa however your nationality might have say in that .

AFA Saigon goes, much has changed there also. But, from my perspective - as is said in Thailand - 'same same, but different'. And that would be from my experience. All IMHO. And, enjoy your vids.
