I've heard that there are new characters datamined. The question now though is "Are they legit datamines?" I was a bit skeptical back when Esmeralda was datamined before she was added along with the Sheriff of Nottingham, so I want to make sure the datamines I've seen on the Disney Wiki page for the game are real datamines.
Disney Wiki has mostly real datamines with a few fake ones such as the Anxiety one that’s been up for a while. If you have any questions about which characters are real or fake ask me since I’m a dataminer with some moderate experience. As for the datamines we got today Joe Gardner is real, Elizabeth Swann is real, Chernabog is real, Mufasa is real, and Penny Proud is real. Now some FAKE datamines include Anxiety who has no evidence of being in the files though I feel like she may be added someday because of her popularity but currently no. Another fake datamine is Hannah Montana basically one of her song lyrics is mentioned in a friendship campaign the lyric in question is “Best Of Both Worlds” now not only do references not mean anything about new character additions but Best Of Both Worlds has been a phrase long before Hannah Montana so yeah in conclusion no actual evidence of Anxiety or Hannah Montana are in the files. However look forward to Joe Gardner, Elizabeth Swann, Chernabog, Mufasa, and Penny Proud as they come out.

Chicken Little is in this month’s battle pass and if you don’t want to pay premium you can unlock him for free on Day 11 of the free pass if you do your quests, Ratigan hasn’t come out yet so no one has him yet and he’ll be Available in a contest or on in app purchases at the end of this month, Mama Odie is coming out on the prize wall which starts on November 5th, Sally is in the diamond crates, Merlin is in the diamond crates, Kevin Flynn is in the diamond crates, Hank And Dorky are in the diamond crates, Heimlich is currently in challenger arena and colosseum rewards, Dr. Doofenshmirtz is in the diamond crates, Max Goof is currently a special event exclusive which means you can get him either through in app purchases or if he appears in a contest, Sulley is in the diamond crates.
I would hope the update happens sometime later today, or if not, tomorrow.
