Contestants and their screw tossing are my favorites. Though, those screws look like they could change or delete reality
I like how Fiend Folio's enemies interact with themselves, makes it feel like Isaac really is against coordinated enemies and not a jumble of random horrors that somehow ended together in the same room
Even in this disgusting and mistreated hell-hole, the power of friendship still prevails!

"Two bros, chilling in a hot tub, five feet apart cause they're not gay!"
Also many of the rooms use enemies that do not interact with each other in ways that compliment both of them. It really makes it feel like the level designers tried and didn't just throw 8 gapers in a room and hit copy paste a couple times, slightly changing the rocks
You can even see this in the original game with the Gaper A.I. being designed to cut the player from any potential escape routes.
Between repentance, fiend folio reheated and revelations there is more than enough good Isaac content to last a really long time
I actually think there is another mod pack but I dont remember the name of it
2 others, deliverance and IPECAC Community pack, enough to triple the game content
Don't forget about the other character mods like Mastema, Arachna, Job, Andromeda, Zach, or Rebekah.
In terms of Characters, the Epiphany mod is also quite promising with its Tarnished!

The theme seems to be a combination of botched surgery and parasites. Cacophobia is also a boss that is unique to this area, I wonder if they were the one who was responsible for stapling skin to all of the walls.
Missed opportunity for a stapler themed enemy tbh
Not just all of the walls, a lot of enemies look sewn or stapled together as well if you look closely. However I feel like cacophobia is not the one responsible for all of this, it also seems to be weirdly made out of tiny body parts, and it is roughly the same size as it lives. My assumption is that Isaac was supposed to have a brother, but he came out of the womb sideways and got stuck, which resulted in him having to be pulled out in parts, and therefore cacophobia seems to struggle to hold structural integrity and needs all of those bandages to stay in one piece, but unfortunately, the bandages seem to be peeling off with age. And for the 'eyes' , my assumption is that they are residual eggs, out of which some are leaking thanks to the above mentioned parasites. They are normally located in the uterus and not the womb, but I feel like Isaac might not know that, and in his mind, they can very well be there. If you read this far, wow you are determined, thank you and sorry for this unit of a comment.

im a little hesitant to believe that, as the "staples" are likely stitching, which implies isaacs mom likely had many internal surgeries, maybe a c section or 2, and all the scar tissue formed over the stitched areas
I love the concept of the enemies like Starving who rip chunks off the already damaged floors and walls of the womb
One of the coolest floors. Sadly there aren’t that many new enemies on it like the others have. But honestly these womb floors are my favorites so far.
Agree, I would've liked an enemy that shoot staples and an enemy that peels open its head to reveal a tentacled scalpel
Remember that Scarred Womb also gets Cacophobia
As if vanilla Scarred Womb wasn't bad enough, FF decides to add more "surgery gone wrong" fellas into the mix, as well as some designed after skin conditions or diseases with skin relate symptoms. To me, Scarred Womb differs from the Corpse in that it's themed around damage/wounds, while Corpse is after the damage (long term). That said, my personal favorite is the contestant with it's screw tossing attack. Something tells me those screws can delete something from reality too
If you get hit by one while at low health...
You're screwed.
Honestly, the contestants are surprisingly wholesome once you realize their attacks are literally them playing catch.
I just want to say thank you for this series! I haven’t gotten around to playing Fiend Folio myself, but I’m obsessed with these videos!

@@SlayXc2 to be honest, the "starving" enemy kind of reminds me of the gaping dragon boss from Dark Souls
As somebody who loves designing body horror-themed monsters, I am incredibly jealous and impressed by these freaks!
I love the Contestant especially. Cacophobia appears here too, which is just icing on the flesh cake.
Hopefully the Corpse roster is up your alley. The monsters there are imo some of the most disgusting creatures in this mod
As a fan of homunculus flesh goblins myself personally, I absolutely love these floors
Something I really appreciate about Fiend Folio is that in addition to completely new enemies, it also expands on the existing enemies and enemy mechanics as well, even adding new variants and evolutions for some of them
Especially with its new subthemes for Cellar, Mines and Dank Depths. The creativity for these guys has no limit!

I quite like Fiend Folio's new enemy additions, it makes the floors of the Basement seemingly like actual breathing worlds and these new enemies arose after some time has passed and the creatures adapted to their home.
i think curdle appears in a utero room titled something like "quick take off the skin we gotta look like a utero enemy! oh crap he's already here"
This really highlights the special blend of silly and disturbing that is unique to the Isaac series.

This is one of the best mods ever, I mean, look at the amount of effort put into this
7:36 and here we see how the male and female bertrans perform a maiting ritual, truly a beautiful sight
I really like how they made the monsters fit the theming of the alt floor here. I couldn't really tell the difference between the scarred and normal variants of "the womb" when they first released afterbirth but this is quite an amount of polish and body horror.

This plus me recently reading Frankenstein has given me the strangest fondness for stitching skin together and making characters that are artificial but make of organic parts. Skin stapled onto the meat inside, strings fastening the connection to joints, and the love and passion of creation turned into a monster so grotesque only it’s maniac of a creator would love. I love this theme so much and I hope I can hone that style throughout my career. It’s a super unique style I’ve never seen before, and needs some more attention in my eyes.

Does the Flailer actually have some kind of interaction with Bertran or was that just for fun? It seemed like it might've been mimicking him but I'm pretty sure it was the opposite if anything

Ah yes, the last one of the the stage 4 floors, continuing the trend of body horror in both floor design and enemy design. Funnily enough however, while the modded version of the Uterus is a clear improvement over the Womb one in terms of horror and design (at least in my opinion), it is much more debatable if the Scarred Womb or the Uterus one is better. I personally prefer the Scarred Womb over the Uterus even if the background design is not necessarily that unique, but I can see arguments for both floors.
At the end of the day, I give the Scarred Womb a perfect score just for the Bertran reference and for giving home to cacophobia, possibly the best boss in the whole mod. This also means I will begrudgingly change my vote of the Uterus down to a 9/10, even though I tried not to change my score on any floor later on after the first rating.
Scarred Womb Rating: 10/10
Personal favourite Enemy: Starving. I wish there was a unique interaction if the only enemies left in the room are Starvings, but it's still a really solid design all around.
You do good work demoing the actions those enemies can take.
Flailers are literally just hostile bertran
It would make sense that dogmeat will get an interaction with starving since it spawns nerve clusters
The music for scarred womb gives me immense yume nikki vibes i really like it. Atmospheric horror that felt sorely missing

Enemy idea: flesh stone
It can't be killed but does when every enemy in the room are dead but if there is a flesh stone in one room with no enemies it doesn't die
Mechanic:
It stay in one place shooting a line of tears at you (it also has a chance to shoot a brimstone at where it's facing)
If you explode it with o bomb then you turn it into a cavity
Cavity:
It flouts really slowly and leaves a trail of red creep
It shoots a cluster of teeth in your direction (the teeth deal one full heart)
It also shoots a flesh tear every 3-5 seconds
The flesh tears go in your direction while leaving a trail of red creep and blood tears.
The enemy has 50hp
My turn:
1. Peel
Health: 35
Follows Isaac, occasionally revealing a fleshy tendril armed with a scalpel, which it uses to attack
- The chance of it attacking increases with damage taken
- If the scalpel touches a wall or pillar, pulls itself towards it
2. Itch
Health: 30
Slowly follows Isaac, becoming faster with damage
- After taking enough damage (10 HP), twitches and scratches in place before opening all its wounds, spraying blood shots in random directions
- Chases Isaac very quickly but with looser traction
3. Staples
Health: 45
Floats around the room, pausing to fire six staples at Isaac
- If the staples hit Isaac, heis immobilized for some time
- If the staples hit the floor or wall, it turns into a damaging obstacle, remaining until the room is cleared

Corpse is my second favorite floor from FF just behind Mausoleum/Gehenna
The whale busts out its guts because dead whales build up pressure from decomposition and explode. There are videos of it on youtube

in case no one knows, the enemy named myiasis is named after the disease of the same name. myiasis is a parasitic infection of maggots. there are many forms of myiasis, bot flies which have small groups, screw worms which cause nasty craters with hundreds of larvae, or the worst, nasal myiasis, which is exactly what you think it is.
One of the most well thought floors in terms of enemies
I kinda wish we got some more monsters leaning to the surgery and sharp metallic things theme and think that the Discy enemies should also spawn here, but I heavily agree

Fiend Foliowise, the Mouthful is kinda bad. It has a unique concept, but it's too easy. I recommend that it shoots out 4 of the little guys instead of just one.
