Just bought one. Thanks for making this video, it's always good to keep an eye out for similar issues. I hope this was an isolated case and you've been able to get compensation/ a replacement tub.

We've had ours for 2 years now and the only problem we've had is cracked valves which we have replaced and now this year we have a puncture so that's gonna be a hell of a journey to fix. As we have to find the leak.

Sorry to hear you've had these problems. I've got the previous version of the Maldives (bought may 2019). Same size tub etc but different pump by the looks of it.
We use it all year round and it's been fantastic. I usually bring in the pump when temps drop to about 5c overnight.
Only issues I've had are with the lid and cover.
Replaced lid but it seems the 2021 version is a tad bigger.
Also I've had it split recently near one of the air jet rows. Used some repair glue/tape and seems to be ok.
    Led light still work.
Best tip is to empty it a bit and fill up with hot water. Works a treat and gas is way cheaper than electricity atm.
Hopefully your replacement pump has the design issues fixed.

I previously owned an Intex hot tub that faced the issue of black flakes. According to the experts at the troublefreepool forum, this was due to corrosion of the pump internals and flaking off of paint layers from the corroded parts, which resulted from unbalanced water chemistry. Intex provided me with a replacement pump unit, but it eventually failed again with another error.
This time, the scale buildup in the pool was so significant that I decided to purchase a new Lay-Z hot tub. To prevent the same problem from occurring, I also invested in a high-quality water tester and will be monitoring the water chemistry more closely.

We have the same bought it last year around June. TBF our first tub kept deflating and we checked for holes etc but found none. It took about 8 weeks of complaining till lazyspa sent us another from Milan. Since then though I really can't think of anything that has gone wrong with it. At first, I thought it was nosey when putting on the jets/bubbles, but over time it has become quieter, also a bit of insulation board helps!
We did have the coloured lights go on us quite quickly, even when we bought two more online, they stopped working, so we took them out. We also noted the jets were not as powerful when using the lights. We simply bought floating lights.
18 months on though and being used 3-4 times a week is still going strong, even better I would say. I love the size and the ability to lay right out and enjoy the jets.
    Would I buy another, yes?

Thank you for your review. We are about to buy one of this and are setting up the base and preparing inlets and outlets of water and energy. )Please excuse my English, there are some words I don't know if they are correct). So it would be useful for us if you tell us how you empty this bathtub. Other units, smaller ones, have the water outlet on the sides so that you can connect a hose and drain the water out, but in this one the lid (so to speak) is on the floor, so how do you empty it? It just goes down the floor, thousand of liters of water?

Mine is exactly the same. I’ve had it 18 months and mine is shooting out black stuff. I just thought it was like mould or mildew in the pipes?? Although I’m trying to flush it all out and it isn’t working either. My hydro lights also were an issue. Although I got a new light 1 month later . The other has also since gone and to be honest I can’t be bothered to fight a company that doesn’t care about its customers!

It's a beautiful whirlpool, but it's crazy that the manufacturer let you wait for so long, what a bad customer service. But don't you still have guarantee on it? I hope they will send you a new one or maybe even a different model. Maybe a consumer protection agency could help?
Actually, I ordered my first whirlpool yesterday from Miweba, so if you get your money back for this one, a pool from Miweba might be an alternative, they have some quite exciting new features.

Thanks for the advice. I may have to take it further. Bestway Lay-Z-Spa refused to send a new machine, so they sent me a new tub with no internals, so had to take all the gear I needed from the old one. Unfortunately, after setting it all up the machine has now broken. I'll keep you informed

Sadly this is a common complaint….but as your tub is under warrantee see the Consumer Rights Act 2015 its simple, if Best Way don't respond head for the small claims court, you won't need a solicitor as all you will need to know is free on line and you certainly won't have to wait months for a result. As for what causes this issue it is chemical related, the PVC used is imported from China which produces some of the worst PVC in the world. If CPVC was used no problems. So in just a couple of lines I set you on the way to resolving your problems.
