As a world eaters player and to offer some math to put the world eaters into perspective as an opponent. With +2 to move and advance and charge active, assuming lord invocatus is in play a regular khorne berserker squad can cover 20” before charging turn one. 6 from scout, 8 from move with buff, 6 from auto advance. And if that’s an eight bound unit that threat range is now instead 23” before move. If you instead use a rhino that threat range is still 17 inches due to disembarking within 3. Meaning the slowest unit, being terminators can still cover 19 inches if supported for it before charging. You may think starting back may help but be mindful if you are within 12 of your deployment edge you are within charge range. So realistically feeding what you are ok with dying while preventing leap frogging is your best bet
That basically means your only option is to just take them head on. I was forced to do that last night and lost half my marine army in one combat phase.
Play me. I never play to win. I run Angron, 2 lords of skulls, Kharn and the rest is just beserkers and 1 unit of jakhals (how the points work out). I dont do tactics and I ignore all stratagems thats arent about killing. I seldom win…but Khorne is always pleased 🤣
When I play world eaters I always feel like I have the upper hand turns 1-3, but run out of steam once my Eightbound and initial charge are dealt with. When I play guard it’s more a game of holding onto objectives and retaking objectives, powerspiking around the mid game to late game.
Thanks mordian, that was a great video. My mate plays world eaters and what he has started doing is including 3 mini knights to mulch up screens. I think that's gonna be the next meta for this list 😅
Reporting for Duty , sir o7 I agree anything to prevent extra rolls to resurrect "Angry Ron" gives you the best chance to win . Speed bump screening should be 2nd nature when playing IG , if not you're the reason Guard has a 45% or less win rate
So glad I watched this, I’m taking my nids against WE this week and needed more of a strategy beyond screening, so thank you! Fingers crossed my guns don’t wiff like they’ve been doing a lot recently 😅
Playing around them would probably work decently too, they don't really screen well so deep striking in the back killing the Jakhals and forcing them to split up where they focus their attention could really screw with their gameplan.
This army also HATES basilisk fire, they are fast, so blow away the one unit of jackals they will bring, dump everything else into the units you don't want getting in turn one, turn the red tide into a manageable drip by speed nerfing and screening
you are correct in that Angry Ron is the only one who flies. they do have the raw speed to get around screens, if terrain allows, sometimes..... but yeah screens are annoying
A major flaw of 40K is that ranged armies always dictate the pace thanks to uncounterable strategies like these, when gaining momentum is the only way for melee factions to secure a win that isnt almost 50:50. At least in 9th you had the firepower to always clear the cheaper screening units.
You.. could always do what I did the first time I fought with world eaters, and run fixed objectives: assassinate and bring it down.. and then farm Angron.
Something I would add is don't deploy far back thinking I (a world eater) won't be able to make it there. You're right I wont make it. I'm just going to sit on the objective and even if you can shoot me off from the back line if your deployment jakhals have built in sticky objectives and for 1cp if a unit dies I can keep the objective. Long story short we will destroy you in combat but if you stay too far back you won't win the game
How to flex over a World Eaters player 1. Ignore Angron and tell him "first im gonna kill your "trash" with my artillery. Then i might kill angron. 2. Bring back what Angron kills 3. Screen enemy into oblivion 4. Bring so much infantry and vechicles that khornes favorites can not kill them fast enough 5. Roll over them with mass I dont know if there is more "disrespect" that World Eaters could get xD
The Jakhuls’ Icon of Khorne is useful for Blessings of Khorne re-rolls, but I disagree that they’re critical for that purpose. Triple 6’s from 8 dice aren’t that rare, and a single re-roll is a 1/6th chance at a 6, same as always. I’d argue that Jakhuls are important as cheap objective holders/scorers. I’ve recently learned the value of cheap objective holder units with my Black Templars army by using a pair of 5 Firstborn Crusaders to hold backfield objectives. My win-rate has dramatically increased in the past month compared to the start of 10e, and I attribute my success to improved objectives scoring by the 65-point Crusader squads. I’ve applied the same doctrine to my World Eaters army, using 70-point Jakhul squads. Before, I rarely used Jakhuls and had difficulty outscoring my opponent on primaries because I was just trying to take the midfield objectives and eventually get into my opponent’s backfield to contest their objectives and outscore them on primaries to win. Jakhuls enable me to keep pace with my opponent’s primary scoring from Turn 1 and usually gain the advantage around Turn 3 or 4.
Jakhals also carry the Icon of Khorne for free: Each time you make a Blessings of Khorne roll, if the bearer’s unit is within range of an objective marker you control, you can re-roll one of the dice. ^sourced from Battlescribe. Zerkers and Jakhals both get these. Also, Berzerkers can sticky an objective when they die via a stratagem.
I know that probably nobody will listen but, my friend and I have started playing 40k and he is always beating me into the ground, and I have never won a single battle and we’ve had a few , so does anyone have advice against necrons (am I just playing bad, to be fair I probably am)? also a know thy enemy against aforementioned necrons would be nice😅.
Necrons are good at not staying dead. Put down a unit entirely before moving onto the next. Your firepower spread across multiple units wont do much, but focusing one down and then moving to the next is a good move
Hey im a deathwatch main i have a limited budget so mostly stick to the units i have so countering by just buying more models isnt really an option for me and deathwatch doesnt really have access to screening units, so what advice against world eaters would you give under those terms is it still hit and run and break my own force concentration ? Or is brick up and gun down the threats as they approach ? Because ive played them 3 times recently and whilst its been close points wise its always felt impossible in the last few turns especially as angron gets up.
I dont know about your scene, but I have seen a few WE armies running a single shooty knight for clearing speedbumps. I actually considered it my life…but it somehow feels wrong. I play WE to honour Khorne. My list is Angron, 2x Lord of Skulls, Kharn, beserkers and 1 group unit of jackals. And I ignore all stratagems that dont involve killing. Khorne will be praised
I killed Angron turn 1 at a GT and then he was brought back turn 2 because of jackals... I feel like being able to bring back 400 pts a turn is a bit much. I was playing black templars and everything was tied up, my sword brethren were able to beat angron but he came back turn 2 which I couldn't do anything anymore to counter.

As a world eaters player do the bayonet charge shooting hurts
Skulls for the skull throne
Angron has around 13,5% chance to come back each turn. With support unit of Jackals it's around 18% chance.

I fought World Eaters once. I answer was 5 Russes putting out a knarly number of heavy bolter shots.
Played a game today against Angron & two Lord of Skulls, my tanks got melted like they were made out of glass lmao

the icon re-roll is nice when you can get it but its definitely a secondary purpose for them
I should just shelf my Blood Angels and go Khorne.
Before i watch i have the solution out melee them
The Jhakals are stiky objectives the zerks are the ones that allow rerolls of a single die per objective they hold
Jakhals also give rerolls
@cew630 since when? Because I dont see it on their sheet and I checked today?
Nvm im just dumb
