It seems to HEAVILY implied that this is a new unit since that Miku is definitely new and doesn't fit with any of the current units we have, however if it is a new unit I wonder how they'll tie these new characters in with the preexisting characters since the current units are all tied in really well and as of the last few events almost every main cast member has interacted with eachother in some way, so that would mean having the new characters having to catch up and likely be tied in with the old units in some way

In the end, their feelings seem to have been locked in a big chest that Miku is unable to open. It's quite interesting. Meanwhile, Luka's story is also similar, but with a different SEKAI. In Luka's Story, the SEKAI she enters has multiple "eggs," which represent dreams left unfinished. And it's interesting because at the end of her story, she sings the Untitled Song of the SEKAI, and someone called a "Passerby" in the real world hears it. This is mostly just some interesting observations, though. I do not think we are getting a new unit any time soon, unfortunately. It will most likely be a new game, I think someone did an analysis of some information on Twitter about this.

A lot of signs point to a new unit, and maybe the reason why there’s only three vas is because the fourth one could be the lead of the newest unit. Also, project diva went on until it wasn’t very popular, and project sekai still has a huge international fan base, so I don’t think they could move on. Besides, why would they post it as a project sekai announcement if it wasn’t for project sekai? okay i'm really excited for this!! i think whatever new project they create will be focused on the vocaloids - possibly trying to revive an abandoned sekai or getting someone to be able to sing a song that those people want to forget as it is painful another time(as in "my voice cannot reach you" and miku mentioning it in her colorful festival side story) and also like some people have said, potentially connecting to cfm's 20th anniversary announcements.
While I was looking at the new Miku's design, I figured that it looked too similar to Miku to be a sekai variant and everything. She's wearing the original Miku skirt and she's wearing a tie, as well as her hair being almost exactly the same too, so don't think it would a new Miku variant for a unit
I think it'll be a new game, colorful stage is reaching the end of it's lifespan, since it's assumable the game will only go 6 years cause at the 3rd anni the story was said to be around halfway through, and imo it'd be a waste to not have a second game
I didn't doubt that it'd be a new game, but I dont think Sekai is nowhere near its end lifespan. So long as the fandom for a gacha game is there (and did gambling lol) it can go for very long years

Making a sequel at this point or a year from now would be braindead. Valve and Blizzard learned this lesson the hard way: don't make sequels before the original (multiplayer) game has truly died. If not you piss off a lot of people with a product which will, to them, ALWAYS be inferior in some way.
When was it said that they were “halfway” done with the story??? Also I doubt it’s only gonna be 6 years, unless it loses traction. But I think the fanbase would probably keep it alive at least until all of them graduate or somethinf
They're definitely not going to do that. I 100% positive they'll add new units sooner or later instead. That's just how idol/rhythm game franchise work.

I was thinking about the idea that the announcement could have to do with the upcoming Vocaloid WL. If I'm not mistaken, the other WL events have been about a new part of SEKAI opening up for the event's respective unit. The only instance of a possible SEKAI for Vocaloid (at least I think) is the virtual singer stage from the 1 star side stories. Maybe the Vocaloid WL could be about a new SEKAI appearing and the Vocaloids might all already be there? Considering it could take time for all of them to get to the new SEKAI (like how long it took for N25 KAITO). Another thing to think about with the WL, are all the Vocaloids going to get a 4 star? Or will one (or two) of them get a two star or three star instead?

I doubt it will be a new unit. The Miku we see is essentially dressed the same as the orig, just changed a little. Mikus from other SEKAI’s are dressed completely differently
i've heard some people say the same, but others have said that whatever they're working on seems to follow a more medieval theme (and that miku definitely doesn't fit that 😭), though i wouldn't be surprised if that *is* the case tbh
If I’m honest I don’t think so, they are doing very good with pjsekai right now. Further games would make people lose interest in proseka that’s why I think they will first drain every bit of info and stuff from the game and maybe in some years create a new one
The average gacha game has a lifespan of 5 years I believe project seika will last a bit longer but definitely not more than 10 years, vocaloid games since project diva have been a core part of the community and way of bringing new players in so I believe a new game would be possible

I sincerely hope it’s not a new unit, at least not right now as it would get sad to imagine proseka as a “collect them all” type of game less story based game yk. Proseka is a game that has a smaller cast of characters so the fanbase/story both adapted for giving each character more importance and space to grow. If it is a new unit I hope it’s later on amd definitely inside of it’s own spinoff event (like evilious chronicles) or spinoff game. If it has to be in the main game then maybe as a full new cast pf characters in years to come. Because while yes in surface pevel having a bunch of new characters will bring a bunch of people. I doubt it’ll be good for the fanbase and game impressions in the longrun. There’s a reason it works more on games like Genshin or CRK, those games and their fanbase are used to quick expansion rates while fans are more divided on their faves knowing the lore of certain characters but not most of the game. Fans usually love collecting characters for their characters designs etc. PJSK on the other hand I feel is more “lore based” with the fans. Most of the time someone who obsesses over nightcord even if they dislike lets say WXS they’ll know a good amount about their lore. PJSK players are not characters collecters so bringing these logistics into this type of game wouldnt make sense amd introducing a bunch of characters without letting them room to breathe with an unprepared fandom would be like the new gen MLP main 6 in gen 4 I think. The ones in the friendship school. Sure their concept was cool but they didn’t have room for individual growth and the fandom was already attached with the original main 6 and coupdnt care less about those kids. My hopes is that the unit blends in well, and that they aren’t there to replace our existing units but to spice things up, let them mess things around, create drama, bring npcs in or background characters let it not be complete strangers! In my humble opinion I think it would work for introducing new fans without dividing the fandom into “the oldies” and “the mee gen fans” like a lot of fandoms lived. And we need that drama now that our current units goals are starting to solve themselves! We still have a lot of story to uncover or rarely used characters like Ena who spent wayy too much time for an event and who a lot of events are basicly “daddy issues” and “art” when her character is more than that. I hope that if this unit does come it will shale things aroind in the game, and not just be there for the sake of adding new characters
If it's a new unit that isn't the vocaloids I just hope it'll be all boys cause the girls are definitely oversaturated on the game (as much as I love all the characters regardless). I've also just been praying for an anime on pjsk. We got Journey to Bloom and Puchiseka but I want a full blown anime, maybe if we're lucky a seperate season for each group. But that doesn't seem that likely this time considering it's a different looking Miku. No matter what it is, I'm so excited because it's not every day you get an announcement this big.

i've heard some people say the same, but others have said that whatever they're working on seems to follow a more medieval theme (and that miku definitely doesn't fit that 😭), though i wouldn't be surprised if that *is* the case tbh
If I’m honest I don’t think so, they are doing very good with pjsekai right now. Further games would make people lose interest in proseka that’s why I think they will first drain every bit of info and stuff from the game and maybe in some years create a new one

unfortunately, project diva has been officially discontinued so most likely, a new game will not be released. please don't get your hopes up.
The average gacha game has a lifespan of 5 years I believe project seika will last a bit longer but definitely not more than 10 years, vocaloid games since project diva have been a core part of the community and way of bringing new players in so I believe a new game would be possible

Shes the only one thats the closest to the OG miku. Doesnt thst mean these members are NOT teenagers. Maybe older than we think because peoples imaginations of miku's clothes aremt as fancy as mmj's or n25, and the other miku's. This one has a hoodie, turtle neck and unlike the idol miku we see on the big screen at the side.. its seems as id it is a shadow. So here is what i think. This miku is the miku variant from the anni sekai. Because, each group has 4 members. Miku has 4 crosses or "×" things on her. Shes escaped, clearly. The vocaloids do that glitchy thing when the come out on a phone.. her gaze is looking at somewhere else and her hand placement makes her look distracted and scared.
If there will be new units it is normal for them to focus more on them but that doesn’t mean they will remove the current units. There will be stories about the current units too.

I was also wondering a lot about Virtual Singers' World Link, World Link is about opening up new spaces in sekais, but Vocaloids don't have their own Sekai, Maybe in this event they will win a Sekai just for them (Probably the tree), or who knows this Virtual Singers World Link could focus on the arrival of a new unit in the game, I'm looking forward to seeing what will happen

I sincerely hope it’s not a new unit, at least not right now as it would get sad to imagine proseka as a “collect them all” type of game less story based game yk.
Proseka is a game that has a smaller cast of characters so the fanbase/story both adapted for giving each character more importance and space to grow.
If it is a new unit I hope it’s later on amd definitely inside of it’s own spinoff event (like evilious chronicles) or spinoff game. If it has to be in the main game then maybe as a full new cast pf characters in years to come. Because while yes in surface pevel having a bunch of new characters will bring a bunch of people. I doubt it’ll be good for the fanbase and game impressions in the longrun. There’s a reason it works more on games like Genshin or CRK, those games and their fanbase are used to quick expansion rates while fans are more divided on their faves knowing the lore of certain characters but not most of the game. Fans usually love collecting characters for their characters designs etc. PJSK on the other hand I feel is more “lore based” with the fans. Most of the time someone who obsesses over nightcord even if they dislike lets say WXS they’ll know a good amount about their lore. PJSK players are not characters collecters so bringing these logistics into this type of game wouldnt make sense amd introducing a bunch of characters without letting them room to breathe with an unprepared fandom would be like the new gen MLP main 6 in gen 4 I think. The ones in the friendship school. Sure their concept was cool but they didn’t have room for individual growth and the fandom was already attached with the original main 6 and coupdnt care less about those kids.
My hopes is that the unit blends in well, and that they aren’t there to replace our existing units but to spice things up, let them mess things around, create drama, bring npcs in or background characters let it not be complete strangers!
In my humble opinion I think it would work for introducing new fans without dividing the fandom into “the oldies” and “the mee gen fans” like a lot of fandoms lived. And we need that drama now that our current units goals are starting to solve themselves! We still have a lot of story to uncover or rarely used characters like Ena who spent wayy too much time for an event and who a lot of events are basicly “daddy issues” and “art” when her character is more than that. I hope that if this unit does come it will shale things aroind in the game, and not just be there for the sake of adding new characters

If it's a new unit that isn't the vocaloids I just hope it'll be all boys cause the girls are definitely oversaturated on the game (as much as I love all the characters regardless). I've also just been praying for an anime on pjsk. We got Journey to Bloom and Puchiseka but I want a full blown anime, maybe if we're lucky a seperate season for each group. But that doesn't seem that likely this time considering it's a different looking Miku. No matter what it is, I'm so excited because it's not every day you get an announcement this big.
