Were to buy:
all kinds of headset bearings amzn.to/3RjOkHK
grease amzn.to/3HrLZ8Y
headset tools amzn.to/3Y9zqpG
That is not a 2001 model giant...back then they sold bikes like the yukon and the alias. That is atleast a 2008
Teflon Grease is fine, I wouldn't use copper slip on the frame it will attack the alloy frame and stainless components over time
You did better than me at getting the cups out. I tried to do it without the proper tool and broke the flanges (and the cups are still stuck on!). Lesson learned…
He didn't show how he got the bearings, that's the hard bit
He Just filmed the easy bits
I I'm needing that how can I find it on the internet 41mm through
Good video- enjoyed watching thanks
Very good
Love the old school Giant bikes. Great paintjob, logos etc
Sickbiker!!!!
I added copper grease between stem and fork...
What are these parts called...?
The things that you cleaned and installed..?
I think it is called an “ integrated “ headset I had a Giant with a headset like this
This is semi integrated. Integrated has no removable cups so the bearings sit in the frame.
Did you glue the cups into place? What's the brown stuff?
that I believe is an antisieze grease
@@knowmere5832 Don't you want that piece to seize though?
@@NickelCityPixelsyou don't want anything on your bicycle to seize, believe me.
Copper slip anti seize for when you have 2 metals in contact that don’t move, this creates a barrier to stop corrosion.
It's copper slip, it stops the bearings getting stuck in there
Shame he didn't film how he got the bearings out in the first place
Que típo de tasas son las que le pusistes
Why here not your main channel what happened
What kind of headset is this? I think i have the same type. How does it work when there are no ball bearings?
I'm curious to know as well
It does have ball bearings. I have a cane creek ahead set that has the same type of bearing. It's basically a cup and cone with a plastic lock ring acting as a dust seal.
Is it a threadless one?
There are ball bearings in a cage retainer in these. These are cheap headsets where the cups, bearings and covers are one unit, they can be taken apart and greased but not as good as a sealed cartridge bearing.
Just gotta watch it on mute
