If kendrick does drop a new album this year I think it will be heavily west-coast inspired, with lots of 'Not Like Us' type songs. Can't wait.

I mostly agree, but with k dot he isn’t always about capitalizing on momentum in terms of numbers and radio. His highly anticipated 2nd album TPAB was dropped suddenly and he obviously went for a non club record with this sound.

As much as he makes music for the art, his job is still being an artist, and with that, a businessman. So with how much attention he’s getting right now it would only make sense for him to capitalize. He doesn’t do it for the money but if you got the opportunity to go crazy on the billboard charts while also dropping good music of course you’re going to take that route.

We’re in a time of over saturation in the music industry and everyone has the ability to release new music almost on a daily basis (as evident by the week of the battle). But the reason Dot stands out from the rest is because he actually takes his time to craft his projects. That’s how it was done before streaming platforms, and that’s how HE continues to function. I’m so sick of the average consumers who complain about why certain artists take so long to release new music. If you’re a real fan, you’ll be patient for the artist to take their time to create timeless, high quality music. Not Like Us was more than likely produced in less than two days. Meaning he’s fully capable of making quality product off the rip if he wanted to. He was in the midst of war, and his prowess shined slaying his enemy with the energy of his hair follicle lol

I saw the breakdown from channel called Deleted who broke down not like us video and he mentioned that Kendrick might drop on 8/8/24 reason being it’s emancipation day and is related to culture as we’ve seen Juneteenth and 4th of July.
