The family living in "Pristine and Pretty" is inspired by Cinderella and the dark ugly bedroom downstairs is for the daughter, who has to be the servant for her step-family :D
I’m glad they used inspiration but didn’t make it somewhere specific. I dont like the world adventures worlds because I keep seeing Japanese things in “China” for example 😂
I think with roofs EA tried to do thing called Krüppelwalmdach, most common in Germany and Hidden Springs is kinda inspired by style of this country I guess. It's supposed to block water ingress on gable wall. Anyway thanks for another vid, too bad houses in hidden springs are so boringly ugly though ._.
It isn't that blue and green don't go good together, mother nature does it fantastically all the time. it is just that whoever decided those two shades were a good idea probably flunked coloring class in Pre-School. They should have looked at a photo of a blue flower or something and matched the blue and green.
I recently moved my family that I've been playing for 2 years to Hidden Springs, so I was really exited about this video. After watching it tho, I know that I'll have to make my next heir an interior designer 😆
I'm actually playing a game in Hidden Springs right now, so this was perfect. Have to admit, though, that once I'm out of the starter home, I pretty much always do my own build (this time my guy's a loner outdoorsy guy, so he built his own cabin, heh) because I really don't like the size of most EA builds once you're out of the starter homes: they are just uncomfortably spacious. A couple things: I think it makes some sense for all the wealthy folk to have their own exercise equipment. The world's backstory is that all this rich people are there for a health cure, so it's not surprising they're into exercise (and of course they can afford to have their own home gyms). And I actually thought Liam's house (Just Enough Bungalow) was surprisingly well done. He's supposed to be a geeky dork with no fashion sense, and his house looks as close to that as possible without bringing in additional stuff from the store. I always figured all of that extra furniture stuffed in there was hand-me-downs from his mother who he couldn't say no to! Looking forward to the next one!
I LOVE the kitchen tiles in the Perfect Family Home. One of my biggest gripes with building in the sims 4 is that none of the tiles look like actual kitchen tiles 😫
I was literally trying a Sims 4 kitchen yesterday, and all the tiles were awful. I ended up having to use this hideous floral base game wallpaper because nothing else looked like a kitchen :(
I NEVER realized how many times they use that ONE book case. I now hate it. Also at 20:40 I love how there is a rainbow in the video that makes you look like you are at the end of it
I agree the outdoors of Hidden Springs is pretty and I agree with the few nice houses you pointed out. I love the lil gypsy home. Would like to see how you would improve it.
those roofs look weird af but to be fair if i tried to recreate my aunt's very real countryside house in the sims 3 i'd probably tried to do something similar with the roof. it just doesn't really work in the game because roofs in the sims 3 kinda suck in general. they almost got somewhere with the house on 16:28 but uh... yeah
as a brazilian, two things: 1. whenever you say blue and green dont go together i think of my country’s flag (theres also yellow) 2. i feel soooo smart knowing what domicile means bc its actually a pretty common word (domicílio) to describe houses (example: house arrest is prisão domiciliar). 3. bestie i miss these videos so much 😭😭😭😭ive binged the entire playlist like a million times please bring them back for the sims 2 i need ur opinion on the caliente, goth, lotario and broke homes sooo bad 😭😭😭 love the content please never stop u slay
already screaming at the “(UGLY ALERT)” in the title LOL. first vid of yours i’ve seen and i love it so far, can’t wait to get into the rest of this series !!
Hidden Springs is my favorite world and I couldn't wait for this video to come out. Sometimes the houses are very beautiful, such as Ponderosa or the small chalet, even if perhaps the color combinations can sometimes be questionable and would need a touch-up, but the others sometimes have that strange roof.. which didn't really appeal to me convinced. I once played Hidden Springs with a sims and got a starter house and my goodness I lost my retinas because of the patterns and colors XD
@@Rekowcski When I play the sims 4 with regard to newcrest I take various lots that I saved in the gallery and leave only some free land, I wouldn't have the strength and the desire to build a house from scratch, same thing for the sims 3 I always buy a starter and then I modify it to my liking over time XD
My thought about there being multiple scores of 2 already in this world: Rich people really do know how to be TACKY and architects cannot talk them out of bad decisions bc they pay them tons and tons of money. 👍
that roof style is called half-hipped roof or sometimes known as clipped gable roof and ‘jerkinhead’ … minds out the gutter 🫢 you see it a lot on tudor homes, farmhouses, and barns. I think it’s more common in europe. it’s basically a mixture of gable with a hipped roof at the top.
Am I mistaken or did you not review Lemon Chateau in either of the Hidden Springs videos? It’s the best house in that world IMO and I always would gravitate to it and do small renovations.
You're right, and now I notice that one or two of the houses make the hipped part 1 tile smaller. It makes a whole lot more sense, i just don't like how they stick out on most of the houses :(
i think this world would've benefited from being like almost exclusively wood log/exposed stone cabins and such, the kind of houses you see in Granite Falls or Three Lakes. The houses that didn't fit that vibe were honestly sooo ugly. The worst of EA comes out when they can't stick to a theme (and when they make rooms bigger than 10x10 lol).
Still kinda peeved that they had the chance to make an enchanting and secretive lot to place the Fountain of Youth, for players to explore the map to find, and they just... didn't. For some reason. But yeah, it's a good world for me to stick my noveau rich and goldigger sims in!
Hidden Springs is a pretty world, but I always find it a little bit dull to actually play. I love sims 2 for charm and gameplay, and 3 for building and styling. 4 was kind of the worst of both worlds.
They just have horribly ugly golden giraffe statues on them which I don’t think is very realistic or pretty 😂 just a simple 1 tile bookshelf is all you need for a sims house haha
I’ll be honest I love all of these houses and the sims who own them. I think it’s because we had to deal with the sims 4 for the past 10 years and in these houses they are mostly furnished. No missing toilets. No missing doors. Besides a lot of gyms the houses are diverse and idk sims 4 is horrid. Compared to sims 4 these houses are so much better lol.
We may have different tastes, but I find Ponderosa Place HORRENDOUS. Is big, empty and the floorplan is weird, at least for me. About the roofs, EA tried to emulate the roofs from rural houses of Germany and other central european countries. But.....they did it wrong, very wrong...
Omg those roof details were NOT done properly lol. I didnt recognize it, because it doesn't even look like what it's trying to be. Ive been to Germany a few times, I now see exactly what they *tried* to do. hahah That's good, I just want you to look at it for yourself. There has to be some crazy person out there who loves EA's green bathrooms/kitchens, they can go live in Sunset Valley without me haha
That style of roof is called a Jerkinhead. It combines a gable and hip roof and is a traditional style of roof. They're typically found on Arts and Crafts style homes, Craftsman homes and English country style homes, Queen Anne homes and Tudor Revival Homes.

yay hidden springs, been waiting for this one! i think it's loosely based on small alpine countries hence the abundance of swiss chalet-like buildings
I’m glad they used inspiration but didn’t make it somewhere specific. I dont like the world adventures worlds because I keep seeing Japanese things in “China” for example 😂
Even though some of the builds are ugly at least the world is aesthetically pleasing.
I still think it has the best greenery space out of any world.

"uncomfortably spacious" may be the perfect description for an EA build

They could have easily used another bookcase (without solid gold jungle animals) 100 times and no one would notice

Ponderosa Place gave me vibes like someones fancy ski lodge they rent for the winter for two weeks, not an actual home? Idk.
We have a lot of chalets and lodges here, and ponderosa definitely gives out that vibe, from the outside at least.

I think the terrain is one of the most beautiful. I love the green grass and mountains.
Based solely on my memory of some of the houses I kinda figured Hidden Springs would be a bit rough 😂
I remember moving into a starter house and it was ugly, but there is definitely a pretty mansion I remember that we haven’t seen yet
17:14 ew it looks like the tile has moss on it or something 🥴
EA did it again :(
11:28 it is a great palette but the floor is what ruins it for me. Too dark and woody, it washes out the good part of the tile colors.
yes I agree, there were several houses with that floor in the bathrooms and I was not a fan
