Big thanks to David Simmons used this as theme tune to his Radio 1 soul show Saturday afternoon in early 70’s and in BBC Radio London too. Great DJs great music God FM radio in the UK is so crap now. Where would you ever hear this today! So sad
I wanna thank Norah Yarah and Rosa of Let it Happen for bringing me here. I never heard Mardi Gras music before seeing their Dance tribute to this Song. I love this song.
Very cool. Question...is there a Lily Allen (brit pop singer) song that has almost the same piano intro? I no longer have her cd but boy does this sound familiar. Anyone know?
Yes..a good friend (she is actually the one that posted the Prof. Longhair sample) of mine who does a radio show about different genres of music immediately sent me the link to Lily Allen's CD on RUclips and yes Professor Longhair was indeed credited. I had not heard Lily Allen's or Prof. Longhair's music in many, many years so its pretty amazing how music, good and bad, will stay with you forever.

That's the great Earl King singing
Heard this when Spike Lee did the documentary on Hurricane Katrina If God is willing and the Creek don’t Rise.
This is Bo Dollis on vocals
Actually it's Earl King

Lily Allen is sampling Professor Longhair. It's the same song. I'm sure she's aware and that he was credited.
