The beautiful thing Bout board games is that even if the love for some of em drops, given enough time and a random pull off the shelf and the love can skyrocket again :)
Yeah this happens when I want to start selling games. I do once last play and usually I'm like "ok this can go." Other times im like "wow why don't I play this more?"
If RUclipsrs called these lists our "50 favorite games right now" that drop would mean nothing to me. Using "top" of "all-time" in this type of video makes the drop super dramatic to me. I don't mean this to sound like a complaint against this video or FTM at all, I just now view ALL "top games of all time" videos very differently now. Still love them though - especially by FTM. I just feel like the "of all time" phrase should hold a bit more weight than it does all around.

Good job on Jamie for giving Jeff a hard time on dice throne. I think the most surprising was seeing it fall just outside of the top 50 with the new X-men content. But top 75 is fair for how many games you guys play. Let Jeff wins some games and it will be back in the top 50 again Jamie.
100%agree with Jeff on Netrunner. Fantastic game (and great new content still being produced by NISEI/Null Signal), but a real challenge to get to the table. I’m not a “lifestyle” player (and don’t want to be), but introducing the game to new players is daunting to say the least. Too bad Jeff and I are not neighbors…we’d probably get more chances to dig in!
Interesting discussion topic: are games dropping rankings due to diminishing returns (playing a game a ton), growth of the gamer (moving past games as you grow), game replacement, or something else?
I really appreciate this video. I feel ya on games slipping down your list because they have been over played. If I don't play another game of Catan or Unstable Unicorns, that might just be ok.
Yeahhhh... pretty consistently Azul keeps going lower and lower on my list. I'm wondering if River Valley Glassworks may replace it in my collection. It's on BGA now so I'm pumped to check it out
I think a more meaningful list would be: the games we cooled down on. They dropped your list partly or entirely for a reason other than not being played. Says a lot about your evolving tastes :)
Innovation, samesies? Wild to hear. I've played 100+ games of it and not sure two of them have ever felt the same. Short of TCGs like MTG/Netrunner, it has the most varied play of any board game I've ever played, by far. And incredible ebb/flow / ups/downs with*in* the game, without catch-up cheats or runaway leader problems. Amazing game, my #1 game. Don't give up on it yet! :P
I mean, it’s just my opinion and experience. I’m also not saying the cards are the same, but the play feels the same. I’ve played it a lot and seen almost all of the cards at this point (in base game). Got to the point I was just going through the motions. Still a great game! Glad you’re still enjoying it as much as you are :)
Do you share your complete list or air table document somewhere? Would be interesting to see your ratings and a complete list of your collection. The BGG account doesn’t seem to be up to date and only has one rating.
Many of us rank and rate games on "feels". If I love a game, it doesn't matter if it lacks in certain aspects (Mottainai, Stratego, Startups, Kobayakawa, Jokkmokk, Machi Koro Bright Lights Big City). If it checks all the boxes, but I don't care as much for it, I give it a lower rating.
Speaking of net runner, and other TCGs... Have you heard of the new Star Wars CCG Star wars unlimited that's about to launch on March 8th? It's like if MTG and Lorcana had a baby. Curious to see what you guys think of it. I love your videos! Thanks!

Yeah an 18 card game vs a heavy euro. How can they be on the same list right? There is so little design space in an 18 card game, like it has to be so good.
It's funny you guys like Downforce at more players . I only enjoy it at 2 player. Anything else just feels like a random luck fest. 2 player has some more meaningful choices

Great content!!! I LOVE scout but it doesn’t play well at 2 and I think that’s its downfall.
Return to dark tower is a great game! Everyone I introduce it to loves it. It’s also easy to play with new board gamers.
