Were heading to clarksdale in april. Will be staying at shack up. This will be the second time staying there. Stayed in red house. Very cool place. Love the grounds as u mentioned. Have done most of the things u did this time, but learned from you guys, about great places to eat as well. You provided some great tips. Were going to book a highly recommended private tour of clarksdale. Nice clean vehicle, ac, and all the historical gems, i missed on my first visit. Delta bohemian tours. Cant wait to get back into town, hit up deak, ronnie, and the rest of the great musicians, in town, including, seeing "red". Keep u posted. Thanks again for this great video. Monty😅
One place i would recommend for breakfast is Rest Haven...just down the road back into town. Where the locals will get up and pour coffee for anyone needing a refill...the food is GREAT and i even get up and make the rounds with coffee pot in hand. I have not been back since the makeover which just aired this past week showing the work done. Miss Paul and her husband ...drawing a blank on his name are the best. Miss Paula makes you feel like you have been friends forever. I have been going back there for several years and really enjoy going there, and seeing the same locals sitting in the same area. Getting back to the Shack, I cannot think of one negative to say, other than having to leave and head back home. The grounds, staff, cold beer, and hopefully you will run into Bill and Pup Pup will make you plan another trip soon. Going there also, you meet people from all over the world, who are there for the same reason you are. Especially during the King Biscuit Blues Festival...for me, I like to go in off season where you get to really get what The Delta and The Delta people are about. You get time to visit a little more in the different shops and on the grounds, whether in the lobby or bar, or even sitting on your porch. I especially like to go in June for the thunderstorms and heavy rain on that tin roof. It's all part of the Delta, yes and it does get humid....Highly recommend getting over to Helena, Ark across the Mississippi, be sure to visit The Delta Cultural Center...this is where Sunshine Sonny Payne did well over 14,000 shows ...unfortunately he passed away a couple years ago. This is where the King Biscuit Blues Festival takes place in October. I thought i knew something about the Blues, until a friend of mine invited me to The Delta....it changed my life...i have often wondered if the Delta made the people or did the people make The Delta...I think the Delta made the people...Enjoy your stay and sure you will be back soon...I sure miss it...
Thanks for the recommendations. I’m so shocked it took us this long to visit considering we only live a couple hours away. I agree about rain in a tin roof, nothing more relaxing. We have lived in North Mississippi our entire life, and the humidity never gets any better. 🥵 There is a father-son trip planned in July and it’s going to be epic. 😊
When I was growing up there, clarksdale was a thriving town. Tamales were sold by an older black man who wheeled his hot tamales around town. Those were share cropper shacks moved there. We had friends on that road back in the day.
How cool. We recently sold our house in Tupelo and moved to Mantachie. Clarksdale was so much fun. We enjoyed it so much more than we thought we would.
The Shack Up Inn is such a funky and unique place. We love it. If you ever have the opportunity to try tamale, I’d recommend it. They are very common around these parts.

That place looks really interesting. Gonna have to add that to my list.
You should! Very unique place and town!
You two always find such cute places to stay! Loved the tour Wade!
It was a very cool stay! Thank you friends!
Love the drone footage. That area looks nice and interesting.
Thank you! Wade has been enjoying the drone addition!

How neat. We could tell by the way downtown looked that it was once booming.
Born in Clarksdale. Now in Tupelo.

Never had a Somali but they sound nice, loved the room tour, and what a wonderful place to visit❤️👍😉
