Considering they are performing on live TV in front of the Queen i find this performance near perfect. They (mostly) look confident, their vocals are great and they just look like a team. Even if there was tension, they are still a great team. One of my favourite live performances by them.
Oh yeah, also in British culture, generally, you don't clap until the end. This is a posh event, with theatre style seating. It's like they're an audience going to the opera all dressed up. The evening features, comedy, maybe songs from musicals, various acts and musicians. For the winner of Britain's Got Talent, the prize is the chance to perform on this show. The best part is that after Katherine Jenkins sang the national anthem, which doesn't count because it had to be sung, Girls Aloud are technically opening the show!! That means that before all the good TV shows come on at 9pm people are flicking through the channels, decide to watch the opening until their show comes on...more people would have watched this than whoever was on later. This would be quite a privilege to be invited to perform at and, of course, all the performers get to meet the Queen too.
Nadine and Nicola carried the girls once again! Nadine and Nicola always understood the assignment, hahaha💯! Whoever did Nadine's hair and makeup that night needs a raise because her beat was on point! Nadine was giving full-on glamour💅. The Royal Variety is a performance that takes place in front of Queen Elizabeth, so, of course, the crowd was more respectful and applauded at the end of the performance. That's why they bowed at the end. Also, this was their first performance as a group after a 3-year hiatus, so yes, them vocals was shaky, hahaha, specifically Cheryl's. Overall all the girls look stunning as usual, but as far as the performance... "Beautiful Gowns..." hahaha
You’re back!!! We miss being fed. I would suggest the Radio 1 Live Lounge performance (fully acoustic) from this era of Beneath Your Beautiful & Love Machine. It’s purely vocals with everything else stripped back … to varying results
Fair dues to Cheryl and Kimberley - Nadine, Nicola and Sarah's backing singers! By the way, the audience is not bored. There is nothing quite as ignorant or childish or downright disrespect as jumping around inanely in front of an act you're supposed to watching.
Generally the Royal Variety Performance is mostly the older generation. Tickets are limited and quite hard to get and I don't suppose they're cheap either.
King when you first did this song I commented that it’s their biggest tune and still on big radio to this day. I know we don’t have that soulish rnb sound girl bands usually have but the britpop girl band sound Is legit timeless over here. All saints and stooshe are still on rotation on smaller stations but girls aloud is still big af here… now - I also told you they made their fans and money from their live concerts and tv shows, get your cute self onto their concert dvd stuff (all on RUclips)
Girl overboard live - while Cheryl was going through divorce is incredible. Live at the local - see them do it all acoustic in a bar setting it’s amazing. Anything from their Neighbours tour dvd - Kim and nic’s ourfits were CRAZY
the Royal Variety show is more than likely an audience of toffy nosed older folks that more than likely, would not really be in to Girls Aloud. The Queen or Prince Charles would have been sitting up there in their royal box, probably just as bored as the rest of the audience. This televised show is all about trying to make the royals seem relatable.
Nadine Nadine Nadine!!! There is literally no question, ever ❤

Beneath Your Beautiful in the live lounge was around the same time…. It’s a must

Queen Nadine and Sarah carried the whole song here! Fact!

JKYDN… Girls Aloud are preparing for a special reunion tour in memory of Sarah. Tour begins this week.
Nadine comes from my home town of Derry. ❤❤❤❤

yes Nadine keep smoking and being shaky with your "oooows"
Oh she was not feeling well during this performance, that's why she seemed lacking in energy, she was just trying to focus on her voice.
Royal Variety is a stuffy show filled with stuffy people.
Oh hey 👋🏼
Not typical British culture but yeah the Royal variety performance is for the very prestigious and snobby lol ps more atomic kitten and big brovaz plz
