A busy Saturday afternoon at Crewe station on May 6th 2017. Crewe is one of those stations where there's always something around. No matter what day or time you go, you stand a pretty good chance of seeing something interesting. Plus a good mix of regular passenger services coming & going too.
INCLUDES: Virgin Pendolino's & Voyagers, Arriva Trains Wales 175's, London Midland 350's, Northern 323's, East Midlands Trains 153's and a Network Rail Sprinter (Class 950) 950001. Also the first shot is a Cross Country voyager seen at Stoke-On-Trent.
The Network Rail 950, seen at the beginning of the video passing Stoke-On-Trent then later seen again passing Crewe was heading from Derby to Carlisle.
    Thanks for watching

Don't think I've ever seen 153s running in a 3-car formation before. Nice catch.

      Good ol runaway cars.
Northern Rail round where I am tend to run a 2 car unit of a 150 or 156 with a single 153 attached for peak times

An invaluable archive here. In years to come people and probably aliens will be watching these on spacetube fascinated by our quaint technology. Chuckling away to themselves or gurgling or whatever the aliens do. Ha ha great fun. Of course by then we will all be dead. Incinerated or in the advanced stages of purification. Lol.

The overnight sleeper car run from London-Edinburgh-Inverness (Flying Scotsman) has always fascinated me. It's a fairly pricey train, but I understand they offer a limited number of super-cheap tickets in advance. I'm an complete novice as far as trains, however my uneducated observation is that British Rail is made of of damn fast intercity train services in electric trains that compared with Amtrak trains are simpler, less involved and world's less expensive. Why couldn't Amtrak run Brit style trains on runs, let's say St Louis-Kansas City, Dallas-Houston, Salt Lake City-Las Vegas, Chicago-New York? You can only add so many lanes on the Interstates, screw laying down asphalt and lay down tracks. Even the San Francisco-Los Angeles, LA-San Diego trains are the giant butt ugly Amtrak standard. Don't get me started in the San Fran-LA high speed boondoggle that will never be built. Tracks exist on all these runs

I shot some of my West Coast at Speed video there. I love the way you have two stopping trains at once then nothing for an hour. Great place for filming and photos.
