I've heard company owners calling their own lease owner operators idiots, for falling into the lease trap and taking advantage of them.
Damn really
💯
Tough times right now, take his advice and stay a company driver ❤
It is so nice to see someone that is for the driver and letting people know how owning a truck is like and not filling them full of BS like the others do. Keep up the good work.
honesty in trucking, the rarest commodity in trucking now days!
Truthfully!
Note did a zero down walkaway lease with crst specialized
Truck had 500k miles 16 months to own it i was in the truvk 5 months and did 52k after everything fuel and all there fees on track for 124k net
We made a fixed rate per mile of 1.84 plus fuel surcharge
And would if had 660k miles on the truck at the end if the lease and made a extra 25k per year from saved truck payments or sold truck for 40k and started a new lease
Thanks for sharing!
I appreciate you letting me learn English language through years watching your videos, and I also thank you that you always speak true facts about trucking industry, I wish all truckers are safe and healthy.
Ronen for sure can give you the the sweet talk my friend.
Wow. This is a great lease program. Love your videos Ronen.
I appreciate that!
Considering driving and really appreciate your honesty.
Well Ronen I have to say you're being honest and realistic.
I remember in one of your videos, you said truck prices are low 30 to 40 thousand ,why are you selling yours for 75,000 ?
Depends on year, mileage, options, etcetera.
Extension warranty 750k and APU
Personally, I wouldn't consider a lease agreement.
What you're saying is correct. I prefer to purchase mine through a bank. If things don't work out with a company, I have the option to change companies without losing my truck.
I am lucky to be with an awesome company, but what's to say that can't change.
That's definitely a huge plus!
Great transparency!
Great video. Finally an honest company.
You’re absolutely right! I trust you 110%
Thanks for the support!
@@NorthAmerican-Trucking-News You’re Very Welcome! Thank You for all the Great Honest Helpful Content!
I’ve always thought the same thing about about buy/lease truck since I obtained my commercial driver license here in the us is just a rental truck but ppl mentality they believe they owning it when in reality they just renting it.
Pretty much same thing on buying personal vehicles lot us here in the us we like to trade in our vehicles every 4 to 5 years pretty much at the end of an average purchase contract about the time you finish paying it off you’re ready for a new one so you end up trading in the vehicle that you finally about to own it for a new one and start all over again on a new purchase contract.
You're right on the money!
Great stuff ❤
Thank you!
As a trucking company owner I must say that I disagree with this video. The national average is $2.05 but that means that some companies make 1.8 and some are 2.4 so if I am lease operator would definitely not like to work with a company that is not better than the national average.
Another very important thing is that you didn't mention nothing about the maintenance. Yes you said that the truck has warranty but if the truck gets to the dealer the truck will stay for weeks sometimes months, so dealer will be used in extreme cases, even then you need to tow it to dealer and you have expenses. Just doing oil change is still a big expense over the year. The reality is that with these numbers better to be driver than getting into lease deals. It is possible to make more, especially if the driver is a serious driver with goals and not a lazy bum
I agree with you I consider driving for went to Canada it takes to much time to get in there
I think trucking in general is just garbage right now. Lease and owner ops are getting screwed and while those guys are saying to stay company, a lot of company drivers aren’t doing so hot. Let’s not forget most carriers are running off the spot market and load boards. This makes them JUST as vulnerable as anyone else because the company isn’t going to take a load that’s paying crap, and so the driver gets stuck sitting, sometimes for days waiting for a load. At least as a lease or owner op YOU have the choice and decision on that load. That’s the only upside I see is the freedom to move when and where you want and not what the company deems is best for them, and their profit margin and expense. Either way you go though trucking is in the toilet right now.
You are entirely right! We are ALL affected by freight rates. While company drivers are a lot better off due to not having to tackle the expenses tied to their vehicle on their own, the fact is as long as rates are down, so is load availability.
Seems pretty good and explained well. When I checked at Penske on a truck I drove 200k miles, now up to 450k miles... supposedly with discounts was 38k, mm hmm. They wanted 25k down not that they stated the interest rate when figured out was 50%. So no 2nd sale here, bought one cash with higher miles 18,500 no rush putting it to work with low rates. ET does seem to have a good realistic approach especially as it comes with a company support sending the work your way. Hardest approach on just buying a unit is the hoops, then work once you're on your own. I was auto hauling with my 1st Penske unit, not general freight when guys were getting 4 a mile, who knew. Lol 😆 Glad you're trying to get leased on guys to ownership, the rest seem like just pipe dreams sold. 👍
I didn't see maintenance calculated in. That's another $10k at least.
Question I have is, in this scenario. Why are drivers paying current interest rates for the lease purchase when the truck was purchased a few years ago at way lower interest rates? Do your interest rates fluctuate with the market? I assumed they are a fixed rate loan for a truck.
To the driver he cited get your own authorities insurance truck and trailer and with about 4 log boards you'll reach or go beyond your earning goal of $120k net.
Mayhaps you are correct!
Just transport cars for Tesla as a company driver and make a 150000 a year with full benefits or on your own truck and do it for GM get a huge fuel search and make about 250000 a year right now.
Biggest thing is. Stop hauling this cheap f Freight.
If you don't Transport it They will increase the price till somebody does. And another thing stop giving all these foreigners jobs. They're the reason why she'd freak gets Transportation because? Even though it's cheap. It's still good money for them compared to what they're used to.
I've been tossing seeing the idea for a laser purchase for a while. I'm flat bed and I'm currently looking at just abuy out right option using my own bank but one of their trucks so i don't need to modify the truck i buy to start rolling again.
Interesting.. when I spoke to Vanessa in recruiting she told me 3 months as a company driver. Also I would have to park my vehicle in Atlanta during that time and then fly out to take home time. That's very very restrictive for this program to me..
Sounds about right
@@NorthAmerican-Trucking-News Some of the companies in Chicago do that as well.. Fly home for home time.. Most of them pay for that though..
Scotlynn group here in Ontario is bad for this , nice shiny pete’s and kw’s with high payments and not enough fright to pay for them
As always, we advise, never take on more debt than you can handle!
I’ve always dreamed about being an owner operator. As the driver in the email said, you are one of the most honest guys out there. I live in Pennsylvania but would love to work for you. Do I need to move to Atlanta Georgia? How can I get more information on your lease purchase program. How much would the down payment be to get started with you guys and can I do it whilst the living in Pennsylvania?
Hi! Please reach out to us at recruiting@ettransport.ca for more information!
Do you guys run in New Hampshire?
Yea that email is real 😂😂😂😂
Yuppppp
U should cover Scottlynn Trucking out of Vittoria, ON. SCAMMERS!
Them criminals. No wonder the owner lives in a castle. Good show rowen.
I was looking at them. Can you give me more details?
@@harmony.havoc. just read the reviews online crazy high truck payments , they keep the fuel surcharge and discounts they get from buying fuel ,they don’t have enough Canadian freight to keep you going and making money . if you take time off you will most likely be behind your payments and will repo the truck , if you make it to the end of the lease and plan to buy the truck don’t ever mention how much you have saved up because the shop will make sure you walk away from the lease . very few complete the lease
Yep another good video. For some people it's like Col. Jason Jessop says you can't handle the truth 😂
Thanks for watching!
Ronen can you make a video about Umbrella Insurance Policy
I'll raise it to him and see if we can get a video on the subject!
Thank you
U can make that as a company driver unbelievable
Company drivers are thriving in this downturn it seems...
Never never never do a lease program! buy A pre-emission truck in good condition (07 or older) it may not work for you but it works for a lot O/O!
It’s worked for me. Pre emission or glider trucks only
Trucks are but to last unless you are an outlier you will probably get an average truck for your year make and model. You are more likely to forget your daily pretrip, as described on the papers you got in truck school, than select a bad truck. Not exactly bible sized, but it is straightforward.
Fair enough
I need to get in on this company
Haha yes
120000 miles/year
Good luck
Stay driver
Can you talk about Carbon Tax in Canada?
We'll definitely keep this in mind for a future video!
Yes please! More content relevant for Canadian drivers that drive within Canada 🇨🇦 svp
And even the price of 2021 frieghtliners with miles are $50k to $60k.
Precisely
I would love for you to review my lease.
Book us a consultation and we'll happily assist! To do so, email us at sponsorship@ettransport.ca
Could John hop over to the flatbed division and hit that 110-120k?
Haha... flatbed rates are even lower...
make headway not headwinds...???
You would be crazy to put 7k down with a truck with 400k on it.... O down lease on a new truck is way better. The only way your lease is good if you have a damn good extended warranty.
What if I want to run a real truck, like a Pete 389 or a Kenworth W 900L?? I know a guy who runs a W9 and is getting 7 miles per gallon on average.
Junk trucks for someone in bussiness to make money. Cool if you want to be showoff.
A "real" truck lol
You didn’t add maintenance for truck after one year maintenance will be at least $200 a month
The rates will fluctuate a LOT so we didn't include it for this sample
Leasing and losing 🤣🤣🤣. I gotta come up with an idea… truckers are the easiest to get over on
Why do you do all your information in US terms. 100 Canadian units and 5 US units. Canadian owner operators get paid by mile $1.90
A lot of our viewership is with the US, but we do cover Canadian content as well
This paystub
Is it monthly or biweekly boss???
He literally said in the video that the pay statement was monthly, but the drivers get paid every 2 weeks
95k a year minus 30% for taxes amd self employed taxes😂 so 66k you can't find a otr job paying that low
120k a year is still only 84k
4 years to own the truck
400k on it already
120k a year
Means 840k miles which these truck trucks die at so useless
It will ge worth less then 30k so best case situation which you admit isn't possible right now you make 90k a year after taxes otr not benfits health insurance or 401k matchs
I make 85k a year home every weekend with full benefits I'm not enslaved to a company either 😂😂😂
Your honest about your numbers but not about how shit it really is for the driver
To be honest, I think most people are already aware of the situation for drivers
Why will someone pay you 25% dispatch fee. If even after that he only have to earn $8000 a month. He can dispatch himself or hire a independent dispatcher at 5% and bring his profit above $10000.
This is completely nonsense to pay you guys 25%
Do you reckon we should dispatch and provide trucks for free?
They are providing full service help with your truck, not just dispatching. If the driver doesnt like it, they can just go back to being company driver.
They are also including a trl in that 25
He only wants to net $1 mile. Thats shouldn’t be too hard
Haaaaa
@@NorthAmerican-Trucking-News how many miles on your $75k trucks?
❤️❤️❤️👍👍👍
Why is that truck 75 k ,it has more 400k miles. In the market worth 45 know
Great question
Do you hire USA drivers?
We do have a branch in Atlanta, GA, however I am uncertain if we are accepting new drivers at this time
Thanks for getting back to me- I’ll keep checking back in with Atlanta. How much experience do you generally look for?
Ronen, you should tell that naive driver of yours to use his hard earned money, to buy a truck on his own. Especially now, when trucks are cheap.
I bring my own equipment. Show me the money, and I will run it guaranteed.
Kevin young gets it done!
Without that 25% fee he could be over his set Target 😅😅😅
I mean yes, but the costs for insurance and buying a trailer and running rights and all that I can almost guarantee you will cost much more.
120,000 is not profit unless you buy a self driving truck
30 grand is sll they are worth
Our trucks??
😂😂❤❤🎉
Thanks for watching!
There getting a driver they wouldn't other wise get that's what there getting lol they if you don't last then they get there truck back that's what there getting for a free lease yes alot of them are shitty and have bad leases but that'd don't change the fact your charging for something that the industry dosnt anymore yes you will have a lower turn over rate bc those driver lose alot of they don't make it that predator my man you lease is what your crying about
Sooooo pretty much you’re a dealership
Not quite no
😂😂 LOOKS LIKE "ET TRANSPORT " is recycling the old trucks that they can't sell to the regular market to the fools who want to buy it on a lease, 75k😂😂😂😂 for a truck that you can buy anywhere else for 45k, that's a good strategy for ET to sell it as a lease to avoid the gap losses from overpaying when got it overpriced new, and for the fool who go into this lease at that point i would prefer to get a walkaway lease with nothing down because by the time you finished to pay the truck it will go straight to the junkyard unless you want to keep a money pit
That would be the case if the trucks we were selling were several years old. We aim to keep our fleet fairly upgraded and have trucks from 2021 to present. While PACCAR engine trucks are usually sold around the 45K mark, the same cannot be said for cummins-engine trucks like the ones in our fleet. Realistically, the trucks could be sold for more
@@NorthAmerican-Trucking-News freightliner with cumming engine are around 45k
Great inft!!
By the time u done paying that truck off
Ain’t nothing much gonna be left but nice try tho
Your program seems like a scam I did a lease purchase with no deposit and paid my truck off in 3yrs plus made took home 2-3k plus weekly after my expenses
He said Rates are bad now than 3 years ago.
@@frankelse745 you miss the point I'm saying I did have to put down payment and its other companies that don't do down payments he's running a scam
company?
Note did a zero down walkaway lease with crst specialized
