I have worked in a hospital since 2001 and I can see the value of such a device. That being said, if you're evacuating from an area on fire or engulfed in smoke, why not just use the bed to wheel the pt to a safe area? Nearly all hospitals use the "defend in place" method of fire/smoke rescue so using a sled is not necessary in the acute floor setting. An ER or a scene setting is an ideal place to use this device though...so there is still some merit to the device.
The US military calls this a "SKED". i trained mobilized guard and Reserve units on the use of this for several years. great piece of equipment. I have been strapped in it, and I gotta say that its fairly comfortable too.
This is a advertisement to Body Removal Business's and Funeral Homes that do their own removals. To date the one-man adjustable cots are the most popular. Typically removals are performed by one person except coroner and medical examiner removals as well as removals from the place of residence. They require two people. Have been around this business for 40 years and have never seen such a device albeit the hard-board all the emergency services use to slide victims on to their cots. Try removing a body from a catastrophic event and that hard-board would work while you are climbing up a hill or other imaginable car wrecks. farm accidents, all types of everyday circumstances that embalmers and funeral directors deal with. Not all are carved out for this type of a career. I noticed in that video that there was not a price attached or contact info. revealed.
If on the floor a clam shell is used.2 people required..if on a bed .just pull onto a gurney.with the bottom sheet..one person required. (For removal of a deceased person)
Smoke inhalation is also dangerous. I guess you don't care how long you have on this earth. Housr removals are not always easy, especially trying to climb down stairs carry a body on a stretcher.
He said hypothetically his hip was broken. They way he locked the belts was a bit tight and he would be in extreme pain, wouldn't he? Putting the tank between the legs with a broken hip, wouldn't that also cause more pain? Why not carry the tank? Just saying..no need for response.
Horrible job. Blood coming out of a casket, but it can happen. I experience it on my job as an embalmer. The odors are terrible. So. You just think it is a desk job. Think again, buddy.

martine
Is this done when a person dies at Home?
Embalming fluids make the preparation room stink. You take this into your lungs.
Just roll him onto the floor and he’ll wake up real quick
Smoke inhalation is also dangerous. I guess you don't care how long you have on this earth. Housr removals are not always easy, especially trying to climb down stairs carry a body on a stretcher.
Isn't the deceased taken to the morgue for the funeral home to remove?
why they need the oxygen if the person is dead
Then what, just toss him out the window?
@megalenellmith what..lollll
Get that sucker wrapped up and gone he s humming
I hate death
Tracie Mayfield This will happen to everyone, hard to accept but true..
What does this have to do with death? Near the beginning of the demonstration they said it is for evacuation.
there is nothing to hate it's a natural and beautiful part of life and ultimately the final moment of it
Jon Stargel You think death is beautiful?? WTH is wrong with you?? Nothing beautiful about death!
+Miss Backyard Camper yes it is it's the final stage of life death is very beautiful when you think about it
Then the cadaver is ready for cremation
I dread death all the time.
