You may be sad that no developer even attempted to copy this game in terms of style or just the cutting mechanic, but that just shows how well Revengeance put every other game in its place by being just that perfect.
Maybe they trademarked it. Some companies do that so other games can't use their unique systems, like how WB trademarked their nemesis system in the Mordor games so nobody else can have something similar for another 15 years.
You have to develop an action game based around that sword mechanic because it takes a lot of controller and enemy design real estate.
You MAY be interested in a couple of upcoming projects I heard about...
The music also triggers the lyrics after you do some damage so the music pops when the action does
Not as crazy as MGR but you may try Vanquish, a fast paced action game pretty much reminded me of it
Also the DMC series is very close to the substance and style of MGR

And technically the bosses are singing the songs in their fights which makes it even more like a musical
So Is Raiden technically qualifies as a Disney Princess considering that he technically has an animal companion? (Blade Wolf is still a dog, after all xD).

Its funny how a game that does very little to talk about its villains, especially the final boss, until literally the last second, yet makes all of them memorable AND talks about them in depth just from their killer boss music. Definitely a game people should play, especially considering how cheap it is.

I still remember when this came out it got so much hate because it was not a stealth game like prior metal gear games and people hated Raiden. I loved it then and now. So glad it is finally getting the recognition it deserves.
Yes. I will never forgive Pro Jared for giving this game a 4/10. He made so many objectively false claims in his review, just because he was upset that it wasn't a traditional MGS game.
I wasn't upset that it wasn't like the other Metal Gear games. I simply didn't like it. Awesome for anyone who did, I thought it was stupid.
the line of being memorable is so true it hurts.
there are so many games that I spend over 50 hours on only to just forget it afterwards because it was just another game in genre X
I've only played through revengence twice, but you bet your ass that I will remember the memes for the rest of my life.
Kojima is pretty good with creativity in making memorable moments. Games may not fit the standards to please the majority (like Death Stranding's many complaints), but he at least tries to think outside the box to make something different and unique rather than follow a checklist or algorithm of trends that usually fadeout by the time the game gets released.

Three words: Nano Machines Son! Absolutely love this game as it's as fun as it is ridiculous combines the high octane action of Ninja Gaiden with the flowy combat of Vanquish it introduced me to those franchises and is another reason why I love it plus the meme potential is bountiful making it forever iconic.

Platinum also did an excellent job on Transformers Devastation. Looks like a lot of what came from Revengence was used in Devastation too. Great music in that game as well!

The reason why Revengeance only got it's honest trailer now despite being out already for almost 10 years is because it's already under the whole Metal Gear Solid honest trailer where Rising Revengeance was called as "Metal May Cry" as a reference of a Metal Gear game but with DMC vibes in it for hack & slash themes in it. But since the memes surrounding this games makes it relevant and popular again so it got it's own honest trailer now.

I'm pretty sure Raiden's Jack the Ripper mode is just him digging up all those old feelings from when the Metal Gear Solid fandom hated him.
He didn't deserve that, but if everyone hating you will eventually give you superpowers then maybe it was worth it.
Its definitely one of the most memorable and fun games that I have ever played....and the soundtrack is just next level.
The music is amazing not only because it's just good, but because it actually provides character depth for the villains
I seriously just want a remaster or maybe even a sequel for this game already. Please Konami!

Revengence was the talent of platinium under the supervision of the kojima team. This can only happen once.
@@Emulcool I know something like this is once in a lifetime. Still, the potential in the story of Raiden is still there. Plus, it’s like they said. The game is obviously memorable(because of how great it is), it has a cult following, and it’s regaining popularity. If not a sequel, is it too much to ask for a remaster/rerelease on new/current consoles? At least do that for us to experience it on modern hardware.

Doesn't even need a remaster, just a port to newer consoles like Bayonetta and Vanquish got recently, they even got a badass special edition steelbook.

I agree with literally EVERYTHING said about this game here. I love honest trailers. One of my favorite parts of RUclips. They even said the first thing I ever posted at the end of my favorite HGT so far. I played this a week ago and thought of it as the pre-"starring" quote. Immaculate.

i remember buying this game for five bucks at five below years ago for the Xbox 360. Have not regrated Buying it since. The action, the gameplay, the cutscenes, the music, and the "sushi sword slice" mode have all aged pretty well so far. Also, I don't know if it's just me, but I think that this game has been the only one I've seen so far with six different difficulty settings with one of them being the title of the game. I may be wrong about how many difficulty settings there are for this game it's been a while since i played the game.
Senator Armstrong really just came out of nowhere and made me aware of this crazy game, and established himself as a meme GOD.

I remember watching my roommate in college my freshman year basically make this game his major for the year and spend HOURS trying to beat Stains of Time guy, Sam, and the Senator.
It's not Xenoblade, but this is still really good. I love this game, and makes Raiden from a character people hated for not being Snake, to a fan favorite. And it's so satisfying to play through featuring some really amazing moments, and let's not forget about the memes.

In eyes of those MGS fans who didn't like him in MGS2 he was redeemed and acknowledged as True Badass already in MGS4.
You see Raiden throw Metal Gear Ray and Excelcius in his new upgrade body in MGR - If you are old fan you just say "In MGS4 he was able to breakdance with Gecko's tied to his legs and slow down a modified Arsenal Gear that carries over 25 Metal Gear Rays on it in previous gen body while lacking one arm trying to protect Old Snake from being squished by it - OF COURSE HE CAN THROW OVER HIS SHOULDER SOMETHING LIKE ANY OTHER METAL GEAR IN MGR"
@@gortis1104 eh, I can see that, it is a really fun game and has very satisfying gameplay. I personally love the complex story in Xenoblade though and still want an honest trailer for that, but it’s still good to have one for something else that you like, like this or mega man zero, which is one of my favorite games out there. Makes me feel like 2d Raiden.

It's so crazy... before all the resurgence of this game started, I was on my Ps5 playing Lost Judgment...and out of nowhere I was like " Damn... I miss that Metal Gear Revengance game...". Later I went to bed and started downloading it to my Laptop. What a Game dude, and the fkn music!!. Two weeks later, some memes started to appear online and people were talking about this game again and I was like wtf bro 🤣 what kind of dark magic is this sh*t?
