Well, rebirth island was actually mentioned a little while back,in 2010(black ops 1) in the campaign,Fredrich Steiner was on rebirth island but the design of rebirth island wasn't exactly like the design of warzone rebirth idk if it really matters tho

If the modern “Rebirth Island” is meant to be canonically the same at the one from BO1, then why does it have the layout of Alcatraz, and not instead based on its original campaign iteration? That’s seems bizarre
When warzone was taken down, i went with it. I used to play almost everyday but after it got deleted i played not even once every month

Verdansk 84 didn’t release with Rebirth, it came after Rebirth in April 2021. Rebirth came in December 2020
I have to say but blackout is the most underrated mode cod has ever came out with
Rebirth island in bo1 is the real one but since then they changed it to Alcatraz island, this one is hole different from what we have got in bo1 that was an island near Russia but now it’s something else

I remember when Alcatraz island came to blackout, god those were the days 💯🔥 made me fall in love with battle royal; which turned into warzone
A reminder that the reason why Rebirth Island is basically Alcatraz with a Russian coat of paint is mainly because the Devs wanted to go to Aral Sea and take reference images of the actual Rebirth Island, but weren't able to because both Kazakhstan and Uzbekistan (the 2 countries where the Aral Sea (and by extension, Rebirth Island) were located in) closed off their borders in 2020 due to certain events. (As with the rest of the world)

I remember when rebirth dropped for Warzone One and being disappointed that it was not based of the campaign mission but Alcatraz island instead (even though I did and still do love that location)
I remember my first time playing it I thought it was garbage cause I was so new and it was too fast paced for me.

Even though Black Ops Gulf War will be made with the same engine as MW22 and MW23, Cold War and MW19 were made on the same engine too! The engine doesn’t determine the graphics, Treyarch’s artistic direction for the game will change the graphics.

CW and MW2019 were NOT made on the same engine. CW was made on an updated version of the BO3 engine. You are correct though, the engine does not determine anything.

History behind rebirth: former prison named Alcatraz. Kept the most dangerous criminals from 1934-1963. Call of duty copy and pasted the prison into the game and named it Rebirth. Lesson closed

I don't only miss miss the maps, I just miss the original Warzone. The visual style and gameplay of Warzone on the current engine just doesn't appeal to me that much anymore. Not even mentioning the fact that the game has become a sweat-fest that is only fun for people who play the game day-in-day-out and are always up with the meta's.
