I love everything about this, from the start resembling Fight or Flight, to the dialogue between Starved and Tails. And of course I can't forget to say it sounds great.
Honestly this fits even in the canon universe. Probably just Tails having a nightmare after encountering Eggman and Metal Sonic while alone in the forest.

I’m pretty sure Tails survives but loses a tail in the process, just like in the story. (And also I don’t wanna get off-topic but I have a Fight or Flight cover idea, and I’d like to share it!)
