Bruh werehoge metal sonic would just be Mecha metal sonic with huge pistons for arms that uses steam to make them stretch out and magnetic force to pull them back in with spiked knuckles that put knucks knux to shame and he dose alot of grab attacks and heavy punches and a super attack that would just be metal putting hes huge metal hands together and slamming he's hands straight down hitting the ground with the force of a bomb shacking the earth and knocking sonic off balance sometimes trying to just destroy everything Infront of him and he would have this big mouth with Sharpe teeth that lets steam out of it as it glows this orange-ish red inside bruh that would be metal no pun intended ....... Mostly no pun intended
Just a tip. Sonic doesnt actually need rings for the super form. The chaos emeralds have limitless energy and can sustain then super form permanently (or at least 4 days Like from sonic advanced).
For a what is I would like to see, what if Maria managed to escape together with Shadow, is their last moments together weren't her sacrifice to save her but them hiding together till her disease eventually makes her pass away in more... peacefull?, way... dunno if it would have less impact on Shadow but maybe would push him into way different direction and if he wasn't hibernating for 50 years he wouldn't lose memory and wouldn't be so easy to manipulate, like hell maybe he would even become a hero long before Sonic was around and become a role model for characters like Sonic and his crew but I should hold on and leave something for you to tackle on and on this what if... I had in mind maybe a bit different way how Sonic could preserve his Werehog form, simply put while Dark Gaia has is in its perfect form but with only last eye still up and aware of how weakened it is and that next hit will be the last one it decides to transfer back some of its energy back into Sonic right before it loses consciousness and falls into slumber after last hit and Sonic don't realize it happened due to exhaustion caused by battle in Super form, and won't be aware of it till something triggers the transformation, like an uncontrollable outburst of rage or something, way less modification to original story, maybe adds bit more of an intelligence factor to Dark Gaia but honestly even most bestial entities on the power level of gods have some sort of simple intelligence, but I think it would work great too
Honestly the form, despite it's cons especially with the name, is very interesting and well thought overall and the gameplay sections that came out of it are solide even if they're basically dumb downed versions of the god of war games (the reboot/sequel being... An exception). Personally when I hear people saying unleashed is only 50/50 good that just shows they're either not good with action games or just didn't played the game for themselves, the gameplay that came out of it is fun enough to play with for me to go back on the game even to this day, well if we only take the werehog stages, I don't think it's just because of the nostalgia factor.
This "What if..." is like a fanfiction. But, like a good fanfiction.... XD (Honestly, this is what the Sonic games, should have. Epic stories of epic proportions!)
The Werehog is one of my favorite forms, and I know some people don't like it, but the big Were-Woofer needs more love. (Plus, imagine how viable he'd be in Smash!)

Well now eggman’s gonna upgrade Metal Sonic to look like a werehog. Edit: while we’re on the topic of Metal Sonic, have you noticed modern Metal Sonic hasn’t appeared in person in a main line game since Sonic Heroes? Where is he?
Or maybe he could add a new mode for him called 'werehog buster', and instead of transforming into a beefier robot he will be able to counter and neutralise sonic's werehog form by identifying the weak points of the werehog form and countering his combat style.
What if: Dark Gaia was smol and cute like Chip? The Dark Gaia monsters still spread throughout the the world; but Dark Gaia's core manifests like Chip does, and accompanies him and Sonic to put the world back together before they regain their memories. This Dark Gaia isn't mindless; they are determined to regain their and Chip's memories and save the world. Chip's the comic relief; DG's the straight man. The Dark Gaia fight still happens; only now the player knows more about who DG is as a person without any of the grandiose surrounding them. Would the conclusion be a little more tragic?
Here's a idea for part 2: Instead of Sonic keeping the Dark Gaia energy inside of him with the ability of transforming into the Werehog, the Dark Gaia Energy merges with Sonic, changing his desing with characteristics of both Hedgehog form with the super speed and atlethic habilities, and the powers of the Werehog form like stretchiness and incredible strength. Making a balance of both Light and Darkness within Sonic.
I’ve got some really interesting suggestions for this new ‘Sonic: What If?’ series: - What If?: the Super Emeralds were still accessible after Sonic 3 & Knuckles. - What If?: the Death Egg was still around after S3&K. - What If?: Mecha Sonic returned after S3&K. - What If?: Sonic X-treme was fully finished and released on the SEGA Saturn by Q4 1996. - What If?: Sonic Adventure released as an RPG, as it originally was going to be within the game’s earliest concept documents. - What If?: Metal Sonic didn’t disappear from the main game series after Sonic Heroes. - What If?: the Sonic franchise canonically continued on from the Sonic The Hedgehog (2006) reboot game. - What If?: Sonic Colours had a much darker story.

The original intent was not to bring him back at all, but the fan demand for him was overwhelming. So they retconned his original self to have survived.

What if Mecha Sonic keep the master emerald (Sonic 3 and Knuckles bad ending) What if Knuckles never meet Eggman in Sonic 3? What if Sonic "die" in SA2 and not Shadow (at the end of SA2)? What if the black arms came back during SA2? What if Metal Sonic won (heroes)? What if Emerld didn't died? And more xd
Some More: What if defeating Time Eater didn't restore the world? What if the seventh chaos emerald was never discovered? What if E-123 Omega rejoined Eggman after Sonic Heroes? What if Eggman really changed his ways in Sonic Colors? What if Sonic never got Captured and Tortured in Sonic Forces? What if Sonic 06 was never erased from history? What if Maria wasn't killed by G.U.N? What if Sonic and Shadow failed to stop the Final Hazard in SA2? What if the Ancient Echidna Tribe Never Angered Chaos and Never went Extinct? What if Shadow was never awakened by Eggman in SA2? What if Sonic and Friends didn't have the Chaos Emeralds for any final battle (i.e Metal Overlord)?

I've been watching "What if's" by Masakox. But now you're telling me I get to see a "What if" based on one of my favourite childhood mascots? I LOVE IT!!
My vivid imagination was a useful tool for all this! I love how you thought the entire story through, still sticking to the original, mirroring it in a way.
I loved this, not just the concept, but also the way you narrated it. Feel like you're not receiving enough credit for making such an engaging narration, and even performing some character's lines so flawlessly! Looking forward for the next What If's!
This is an impressive what if scenario, I can't lie. As a long time Unleashed fan, this was a lot of fun to watch. Totally down for more of these in the future.
Werehog Sonic being in the game, "Sonic Colors" would be awesome! I have ideas on how the main wisps could give Werehog Sonic different weapons or forms. Laser: He can shoot lasers from his fingertips. Drill: His hands are transformed into drills which he could use to either throw drill-like punches or could burrow underground to perform surprise attacks. Rocket: His right arm becomes an arm cannon that fires rockets. Cube: Werehog Sonic gets cube-like armor that can reduce damage from enemies. Hover: He receives energy dragon wings. He can fly as well as perform combos that involve carrying your enemies in the air and slamming them to the ground. Spikes: His claws become extended energy blades. Frenzy: Werehog Sonic is larger and does 2X damage for all of his attacks.
What If: Another character got infected at the beginning of Sonic Unleashed What If: Tails used the Wisps in Colors What If: Tails stayed under the mind control affect in Colors and what would his boss fight be like? What If: Eggman got away with Cream and Cheese at the beginning of Advance 2/What If: Eggman got away with Vanilla at the end of that game? What If: Sonic lost to Perfect Chaos What If: Wisps were evil What If: Eggman never gave Infinite the Phantom Ruby and used it himself but still let Infinite join him. What If: Lyric was in the Sonic Boom TV Show What If: Cream was relevant in Sonic Adventure or 2's stories

I got 2 for ya: -What if Eggman never knew about Project Shadow (Still goes to the ark, threatens earth, etc, but never releases Shadow.) -What if the Ark raid never happened (Maria wasn't killed, Gerald continued his research.)
This is so fun! "What If"s are always super fun to speculate about. For this What If, the only thing I can think of at the moment would be how Nega Wisp energy and the Werehog would mesh together. I'm sure Frenzy would be WAY more beastly and hard to control if those two powers crossed. As for different What Ifs, I've had this in the back of my mind for a long while now: What if Sonic absorbed ALL of the Seven World Rings? I have two big conclusions for this one, but I don't think I want to divulge them here. ;3
With this What if, maybe there would have been game with story about finding way to get rid off and while on journey Sonic might learn leson that it's better to keep it when at the end there would be choice for Sonic for that. In generations there would be have been Wherehog levels. And maybe somehow Shadow and Silver get this form. Maybe other characters also. It would happen because Eggman would have found out that Wherehog form is from Dark Gaia and then tried getting out of Sonic (somehow) but error happens then it goes to different characters.
What if Infinte survived Sonic Forces? (I realised late that he sort of died😅 I honestly thought he ran away but he like glitched to death...) it would be cool if he survived
May I suggest watching Garrulous64's Sonic Forces Rewritten series. It kinda rewrites the story, changes Infinite's backstory (to one I feel is better) and then goes into the plot of a 2nd game.

As for what other theories you'd like us to consider, how about this; What if Miles "Tails" Prower didn't lose his mind after Sonic's downfall in Sonic Forces and actually became the Resistance's Commander instead of Knuckles?...
Could there be a Sonic What-If to see if Shade The Echidna stayed around, and the ending of Sonic Chronicles The Dark Brotherhood was more peaceful, like Shade taking Knuckles’ place as Master Emerald Guardian. Also, I think this series will be fun.
So i think after the events of Unleashed, the upcoming games will completely change in my opinion. Let's start with Colors- Whenever it's night time... He's gonna have to clear the stage in his werehog form. But the Ending of Colors will be different, because i think the final boss fight seems like take place at night time in my opinion. Which will make Sonic's iconic outrunning the Black hole scene never happen, because sonic is not very fast in his werehog form & will be sucked right inside it & will he die? (And did i forgot to tell you guys about werehog using wisp power-ups is gonna looks Super crazy) Sonic Generations- Classic Sonic & Classic Tails will encounter Sonic in his werehog form in some stages like Chemical Plant Zone (maybe), Speedy Highway & Crisis City. The ending i think will be interesting because from what i know, the Time Eater final boss fight takes place in dimension with Time literally flowing all at once. Sonic will be in his Normal form + in his Werehog form, BOTH at the Same Time. (That can be a REALLY cool concept if you ask me) Don't know what can happen in Lost World differently. I think the ending takes place at night soo..... i think Only that will change. Sonic Forces- Now here's what i think is going to happen. In the beginning of forces, Sonic is attacked by Infinite, Metal Sonic, Shadow, Chaos 0 & Zavok. From the look of the cutscene... it looks like it takes place in Night time. I don't know about you guys but i'm 100% sure that werehog is WAY more badass when it comes to combat. My idea is... Sonic is going to WIN this fight in the 1st go. (Not FULLY defeating Infinite right way cuz that would be boaring) I think the later story can be made up however you guys want it to go. Cuz sonic was Never captured. these are my thoughts for JUST these 3 games & how tiny differences will change the outcome of the game. XD...
What if Sonic had every special power that he gained from every game he had ever been in? The flame ring from SATSR, Caliburn from Black Knight, Werehog, Sonic Wind, Shields, Double Jumps, vaulting all that stuff. What kind of challenges in gameplay and story could come from it?

Thanks for delving into this idea! Honestly I like the werehog, and to a greater extent transformation abilities in general. Just a shame that in most shows or movies these abilties are often forced, and seen as a bad thing to be gotten rid of. And then they never show up again. Like seriously it would've been so cool of sonic had been able to retain his werehog form. I personally think it would have helped a good lost in Lost World and Forces lmao. Also side note it would have been cool if somehow sonic could have had a dark gaia spawn as either a pet or a companion lmao
It would be cool if, in an alternate storyline, the Werehog form after Unleashed was treated like a dangerous beast form (that gets a ridiculous speed boost as the form becomes tied to Sonic's own negative emotions instead of Dark Gaia). Think of Kyuubi in early Naruto or even Dark Sonic from Sonic X where both are tied to rage.
What if Shadows died in Sonic Adventure 2 (and stay dead) ? What if Eggman Nega replaces Eggman ? What if Knuckles stayed the ennemy of Sonic like in the beginning of Sonic 3 ? I really like this idea! It's nice to see how what others could do with these stories and how they can alter them in such a way. I'm excited to see what else comes from this. As for a suggestion, maybe give us an idea of what could happen if Shadow actually joined the Black Arms for the rest of the Sonic series?
Interesting. If Sonic kept that form he would never stop until he got Eggman to fix the mess he was in. And he would still be angry that Eggman made Sonic the beast he had become.
Yay! I remember when I had the chance to suggest a "What If" video to GamerGuyde on what would have happened if Shadow was created with the Mother Wisp's Blood instead of Black Doom's blood. I was sad when he stopped doing those kinds of videos, so I'm glad you will be able to do your own variation of that type of video. Thinking about That Mother Wisp/Shadow video now, I kind of want to see somebody try to headcanon Cosmo into the game universe by making a plant version of the "ultimate lifeform" with Mother Wisp blood. Like a fired GUN scientist going rogue on the world and creating "Cosmo" just to destroy all Mobians, including artificial Mobians like Shadow due to a deep-seated prejudice of them. I just like Cosmo and think it would be interesting for Sonic to literally have to fight the thing he is trying to save from Eggman. I'm just talking though and I don't seriously think you would take this idea into consideration, I look forward to the series either way.

I miss that form too... I even imagined sum' kind of story when somehow Dark Gaia's essence would manifest itself like a Symbiotic being. I even imagined a story when basically Dark Gaia (I imagined Dark Gaia as a fully intelligent being plus imagining that he survived through Sonic would also imply that Chip/Light Gaia would still be alive) seeing the world in Sonic's eyes and sharing his mind would have a change of heart... Then I imagined that after bidding farewell to Sonic and come to terms with Light Gaia the two of them would go back to the Earth they created and would leave Sonic another form which would be reminiscing Werehog but with some sacred marks on its fur... That was an idea I had after seeing the ending of the game... Like maybe 6 years ago?

i feel in later games rather than his werehog form coming out at night because dark gaia's presence is gone for now. Whenever sonic falls deep into a negative emotion sadness or anger from failing to save everyone he would transform into the werehog because of how dark gaia fueled it's power from the negative emotions of people, sonic's werehog form would be fueled by his negative emotions.
What if the Knuckles clan was still around? What if Silver didn't time travel in 06? What if Ryan Drummond was still the voice actor for Sonic or Jason Griffin?
Honestly, I'm surprised they didn't go the Super Werehog route in the actual game. If they planned on it being a one off form, might as well go whole *HOG* with the idea.

The original intent was not to bring him back at all, but the fan demand for him was overwhelming. So they retconned his original self to have survived.

Werehog Sonic being in the game, "Sonic Colors" would be awesome! I have ideas on how the main wisps could give Werehog Sonic different weapons or forms.
Laser: He can shoot lasers from his fingertips.
Drill: His hands are transformed into drills which he could use to either throw drill-like punches or could burrow underground to perform surprise attacks.
Rocket: His right arm becomes an arm cannon that fires rockets.
Cube: Werehog Sonic gets cube-like armor that can reduce damage from enemies.
Hover: He receives energy dragon wings. He can fly as well as perform combos that involve carrying your enemies in the air and slamming them to the ground.
Spikes: His claws become extended energy blades.
Frenzy: Werehog Sonic is larger and does 2X damage for all of his attacks.

I got 2 for ya:
-What if Eggman never knew about Project Shadow (Still goes to the ark, threatens earth, etc, but never releases Shadow.)
-What if the Ark raid never happened (Maria wasn't killed, Gerald continued his research.)
This is so fun! "What If"s are always super fun to speculate about. For this What If, the only thing I can think of at the moment would be how Nega Wisp energy and the Werehog would mesh together. I'm sure Frenzy would be WAY more beastly and hard to control if those two powers crossed.
As for different What Ifs, I've had this in the back of my mind for a long while now: What if Sonic absorbed ALL of the Seven World Rings? I have two big conclusions for this one, but I don't think I want to divulge them here. ;3
With this What if, maybe there would have been game with story about finding way to get rid off and while on journey Sonic might learn leson that it's better to keep it when at the end there would be choice for Sonic for that.
In generations there would be have been Wherehog levels.
And maybe somehow Shadow and Silver get this form. Maybe other characters also. It would happen because Eggman would have found out that Wherehog form is from Dark Gaia and then tried getting out of Sonic (somehow) but error happens then it goes to different characters.
What if Infinte survived Sonic Forces? (I realised late that he sort of died😅 I honestly thought he ran away but he like glitched to death...) it would be cool if he survived
May I suggest watching Garrulous64's Sonic Forces Rewritten series. It kinda rewrites the story, changes Infinite's backstory (to one I feel is better) and then goes into the plot of a 2nd game.

So i think after the events of Unleashed, the upcoming games will completely change in my opinion.
Let's start with Colors- Whenever it's night time... He's gonna have to clear the stage in his werehog form.
But the Ending of Colors will be different, because i think the final boss fight seems like take place at night time in my opinion. Which will make Sonic's iconic outrunning the Black hole scene never happen, because sonic is not very fast in his werehog form & will be sucked right inside it & will he die? (And did i forgot to tell you guys about werehog using wisp power-ups is gonna looks Super crazy)
Sonic Generations- Classic Sonic & Classic Tails will encounter Sonic in his werehog form in some stages like Chemical Plant Zone (maybe), Speedy Highway & Crisis City.
The ending i think will be interesting because from what i know, the Time Eater final boss fight takes place in dimension with Time literally flowing all at once. Sonic will be in his Normal form + in his Werehog form, BOTH at the Same Time. (That can be a REALLY cool concept if you ask me)
Don't know what can happen in Lost World differently. I think the ending takes place at night soo..... i think Only that will change.
Sonic Forces- Now here's what i think is going to happen. In the beginning of forces, Sonic is attacked by Infinite, Metal Sonic, Shadow, Chaos 0 & Zavok. From the look of the cutscene... it looks like it takes place in Night time. I don't know about you guys but i'm 100% sure that werehog is WAY more badass when it comes to combat. My idea is... Sonic is going to WIN this fight in the 1st go. (Not FULLY defeating Infinite right way cuz that would be boaring) I think the later story can be made up however you guys want it to go. Cuz sonic was Never captured.

What if Sonic had every special power that he gained from every game he had ever been in? The flame ring from SATSR, Caliburn from Black Knight, Werehog, Sonic Wind, Shields, Double Jumps, vaulting all that stuff. What kind of challenges in gameplay and story could come from it?

Thanks for delving into this idea! Honestly I like the werehog, and to a greater extent transformation abilities in general. Just a shame that in most shows or movies these abilties are often forced, and seen as a bad thing to be gotten rid of. And then they never show up again. Like seriously it would've been so cool of sonic had been able to retain his werehog form. I personally think it would have helped a good lost in Lost World and Forces lmao.
Also side note it would have been cool if somehow sonic could have had a dark gaia spawn as either a pet or a companion lmao
It would be cool if, in an alternate storyline, the Werehog form after Unleashed was treated like a dangerous beast form (that gets a ridiculous speed boost as the form becomes tied to Sonic's own negative emotions instead of Dark Gaia). Think of Kyuubi in early Naruto or even Dark Sonic from Sonic X where both are tied to rage.

Yay! I remember when I had the chance to suggest a "What If" video to GamerGuyde on what would have happened if Shadow was created with the Mother Wisp's Blood instead of Black Doom's blood. I was sad when he stopped doing those kinds of videos, so I'm glad you will be able to do your own variation of that type of video. Thinking about That Mother Wisp/Shadow video now, I kind of want to see somebody try to headcanon Cosmo into the game universe by making a plant version of the "ultimate lifeform" with Mother Wisp blood. Like a fired GUN scientist going rogue on the world and creating "Cosmo" just to destroy all Mobians, including artificial Mobians like Shadow due to a deep-seated prejudice of them. I just like Cosmo and think it would be interesting for Sonic to literally have to fight the thing he is trying to save from Eggman. I'm just talking though and I don't seriously think you would take this idea into consideration, I look forward to the series either way.

I miss that form too... I even imagined sum' kind of story when somehow Dark Gaia's essence would manifest itself like a Symbiotic being. I even imagined a story when basically Dark Gaia (I imagined Dark Gaia as a fully intelligent being plus imagining that he survived through Sonic would also imply that Chip/Light Gaia would still be alive) seeing the world in Sonic's eyes and sharing his mind would have a change of heart... Then I imagined that after bidding farewell to Sonic and come to terms with Light Gaia the two of them would go back to the Earth they created and would leave Sonic another form which would be reminiscing Werehog but with some sacred marks on its fur... That was an idea I had after seeing the ending of the game... Like maybe 6 years ago?
I think sonic will have resentment towards eggman, and will be a little more aggressive.

i feel in later games rather than his werehog form coming out at night because dark gaia's presence is gone for now. Whenever sonic falls deep into a negative emotion sadness or anger from failing to save everyone he would transform into the werehog because of how dark gaia fueled it's power from the negative emotions of people, sonic's werehog form would be fueled by his negative emotions.
