It kind of reminds me of the SA of the Nazi's. The famous SS was actually a tiny group of bodyguards during the Nazi political campaigns. It was the SA stormtroops that beat up opponents to the Nazi's, intimidated voters, put on fearsome performances and did all the other things and their leader Rhom was seen as second only to Hitler. However when the Nazi's took power Rhom and every major figure of the SA was murdered in the night of the long knives.

@@garfield2439 I actually don't think much of any rioting will happen. He kept saying it would happen if he was arrested and when he was a dozen people showed up. Same thing if he was persecuted, he was and a few dozen people showed up crying and waving flags but not really getting violent.

I think January 6th was the epitome of Trump's power and very much an anomaly. It was a lie not only he spread but a massive network of far right 'news' agencies did too. It also were mostly the proud boys that let things with most of the people following afterwards.

Consider who President Trump pardoned. Many of Trump's pardons were summarily pardoned immediately after being convicted. Trump's referencing the convicted rioters as "hostages" is alarming.

More anchors and reporters should do this but sadly many reporters and anchors have no idea what news is much less be well enough informed let alone have enough personality to confront a liar.
