highly anticipated part 2 of ranking TTPD the Anthology !! it’s been 2 months since the album came out which is absolutely INSANE! now that i’ve had more time with these songs i feel like i’ve really gotten to know the lyrics and which ones resonate with me the most and which ones maybe not as much. i might have some hot takes but i figured for the sake of a ranking video it's time to be (a little) problematic hahaha :)

9:31 I actually really love the title for this song - it's literally all of these other names, not hers. It doesn't matter who any of the other people are because all she can think about is the fact that they aren't together anymore despite how much effort she put into the relationship. He's probably moved on (perhaps several times) but she hasn't

How Did It End? is my favorite song on the entire double album, probably. I just love songs that shatter my heart into a million pieces, and the melody of this one is SO pretty! I absolutely love the second chorus when it says, "Guess who we ran into at the shops/Walking in circles like she was lost." The imagery of that is just so beautiful and so devastating. I feel like this song is such a clear picture of how she must have been feeling after Joe
The Manuscript is a beautiful reflection of her life, and your reflection matches mine. It is perfect and showed her greatness in writing! My Top: Manuscript, Whose Afraid of Little Old Me, I Can Do It With A Broken Heart, The Black Dog, Clara Bow. But I like them all so much. I like Clara Bow because I feel her fear is to become obsolete. It is a fear those who are good at there jobs all feel. Who one day will replace me. Her work ethic and her abilities will never allow her to become obsolete even if she feels it. Reflections of a 74 year old. She is Iconic!

The second half is just amazing. The first half is also amazing. It’s all amazing.
My fave is from the anthology, but i love them both and think they are both masterpieces.
Robin is beautiful if you have children. When they are little you can protect them and they are so unaware of all the pitfalls in life but slowly you have to let them go and have the good and bad experiences for them to reach a mature understanding of the world around them.

When I listen to Robin all I can think of my younger self doing what I loved but becuase of some issues I've been through I can't do them anymore and I'm just like way to go tiger keep doing what you love and appreciate while you can and dont give up becuase one day the secret that we were keeping from you of the issue will come out and your life will change alot, I hope people see what i see in this song and if anyone can relate.
I am right there with you on The Black Dog. It’s hands down my favorite as well. When I heard it I knew it had that ‘X-factor’, that special something. Everything you say about it is exactly how I feel. I can’t wait for your guitar tutorial for it. I know you’re going to translate that into an incredible acoustic.
Also, doesn’t she say in the lyrics to TYA that “everyone will think that this is about a specific person and only you and I will know who it really is?” I agree it’s always felt like a red herring to me too.

Hearing you say "If I has these songs in high school..." about the prophecy. Well, I just finished 9th grade and what a fitting time for the prophecy as I'm kinda in a situationship and I'm definitely delusional. I literally remember a month ago just wishing that this guy would tell me he liked me instead of leaving the most horrendous but obvious signs while listening to the prophecy on repeat.
I also remember seeing this quote- "Born to relate to so high school, forced to relate to the prophecy" I cannot tell you how much I feel this in my core.

Siiiince The Black Dog is the best, would you consider doing a guitar tutorial for it? I would LOVE to learn it! Also, do you have a recommended list of super beginner-friendly TS songs? I know you're are all beginner-friendly, but which ones would you say are the best to try to learn first?
Peter is my top song from ttpd. Maybe top 10 overall from all her songs.
The bolter/peter/prophecy are my favorites 😊 I think because I really relate to those three on a spiritual level haha those three songs are my 20s love life in a nutshell lol dating a lot and bolting, a sacred connection that never came to come find me, then wondering if this whole process is ever gonna end or if I’m gonna die alone lol honorable mention goes to “I look in peoples windows” but it’s not long enough!

1) Broken Heart's - the saddest song on this album, perhaps the saddest song she has ever written.
2) The Manuscript- this song is specially written for us, like Dear Reader. BUT it also carry the heaviness of Long Live but while in Long Live, we celebrate our memories, in this one we carry all heartbroken lives she's gone through as our live lesson..
3) Smallest Man - the best angry/venting bridges she has ever written.

I completely agree with The Black Dog and imgonnagetyouback. The Albatross has the best alternate cover but disappointed me as a song. I like it but it's probably the The Story's got dust on every page. I like Chloe or Sam or Sophia or Marcus. I skip So High School. The electric guitar ruins it for me like how the electric guitar ruined I Can See You. I love How did it end, The Bolter and Peter. They're amongst my faves on The Anthology. The others are great. I skip Robin. It's a nice song. I just don't connect with it. The Manuscript is the perfect closure for the album so I love it. It sums it all up. I also completely agree with everything you've said about Thank you Aimee other than the ranking. I'd put in the middle with I look in people's windows.
