    I was laughing at the end your intro, TOO FUNNY.... Now I understand why I saw at the local bars, the guys straight legging those old beasts of motor cycles when I was a kid. God bless you and your congregation.

      @@bullpencycles back in 1973 at the 24 hours of Sebring in Sebring Florida me and my buddies built a ramp to jump over on motorcycles and we took shovels and made a dirt Mound and then had plywood for the ramp and you should see what people did trying to jump over on mini bikes and even Harleys after they were dead drunk and they busted their ass then the highway patrol moved in and made us take it down

    The cyl. fire alternately. The front one fires, then the engine turns and fires the rear cyl. Then it turns a full turn before firing the front one again. I started on a 1942 "45" Flat Head when I was 14 back in 1955. I am 83 now, and ride a 99 Softail Custom EVO. Had a lot of cycles in between. Had my share of kick backs by forgetting to retard the timing before kicking the beast. OUCH!!! The advance cable was broken so I had to retard it by hand.
    That is one beautiful Harley. My 45 had the big buddy seat like yours. Took a girl for a ride and we have been married for 63 years.

    Great explanation. I didn't realize that's why Harleys make that galloping sound.

    If you didn't win the Talent show you should have, Because in this day and time and probably back then also you needed a lot of talent just to get a Harley Started, I almost broke my leg several times kicking my old Harley over, But one thing for sure I was having a very bad day until your video popped up and now I feel happy again remembering how it used to be just to go out for a ride.

    I have a 68 I have owned since 78 far as I know 65 had a a mouse trap foot shift. 66 and up had a hand clutch to the throw out arm on the transmission and a foot shift. 65 Duo glide kick start 66 up electra glide which means electric start kicker was optional . Like your video not much on the wrong history of the bike. I had a shop at one time myself had to shut it down due to back surgeries I'm 66 and still ride when I can. Have you ever had that kicker pedal slap the back of your leg that frickin tickles.

    • @bullpencycles
      @bullpencycles  5 месяцев назад

      really? that should mean he exhaust valve would be open on the cylinder that does not fire, yes? Why are there two close compression spots? now I am wondering. I guess I never thought about the four cycle aspect. would be nice to see a cutaway

    In this explanation you make it seem like the 2 cylinders fire within 45 degrees of each other , but you realize that is not the case correct?

    • @bullpencycles

      I think you are over analyzing it. I never got that deep at all.

    • @anthonyiannone7618
      @anthonyiannone7618 6 месяцев назад

      your implying that when you say there are two tight spots in a row , what you realy want to do is kick it on the rear cylinder , not passing it up like you say. Anyway just my interpertation , do whatever works for you !@@bullpencycles

    Dave. -i like your videos,BUT please don’t be offended by my comments,i have had a few hds in my time and i am well aware of your knowledge of the details of many of the many makes of motorcycles out there ,my main interest is in hds and particularly in the details and in that respect i would like to point out some thing you may or may not know and as minor as it is i will try to make you see the reason i am pointing it out,that is the fact that that the luggage rack on your 66 is on the wrong way around,just stand back and look at it, its to close to the seat rail ,and would not allow the proper mounting of a tour pack ,may be you could check a factory brochure before ou turn it around,other than that,i am wondering if the horn is proper for that year, and as a last note i hope you polish the lower legs.just like you to know there are people keeping a close eye on you.I hope to put some pictures on the internet when i figure out how,I would like you to see some of the. Stuff i have done. I had a paratrooper bike when i was 14 ,then i got a 53 foot shift hd in 63 now some doz.or so bikes latter I’m riding a 06 soft tail .like they say keep the shinny side up .---dash-man,--O.&O.--

      Wow is it? That buddy seat was not on it when I got the bike. I added the pogo and buddy seat. Never really thought about that rack and never looked at it closely. I cant remember if I added it or not, was so long go. There's alot about that bike that is not for the purist, namely the belt drive primary inside I think. Oh, and the handlebars. But its a pretty rider
