- In this video of this free Excel course, you will learn about tools that can help you when working with data in Excel.
In this lesson, I cover the following topics:
-- AUTOFILL: This allows you to quickly fill data in contiguous cells. For example, you can have 'Jan' and 'Feb' in two adjacent cells and then you can use Autofill to get the other month names
-- CUSTOM LISTS: Custom lists allows you to create your own lists that you can use in Autofill. For example, if you have 20 names, you can create a custom list and then use Autofill to get all the names by just dragging the mouse
-- FLASH FILL: Flash fill is a new feature in Excel 2013 and allows you to identify a pattern in data and perform data slice and dice based on the pattern.

Actually i am working with large number of teammates and don't wanna copy paste their name always, so used this and made a custom list of their names. Thank you again. It saved a lot of time.

Hi sumit. Excellent video. No words to describe for your yeoman service to office-goers/community / novice learners. I had a doubt in customs List. the List you have created will only be available (high, Medium, Low - for eg) for that particular workbook or that it will be available whenever I create new one. My version is Office 2010.

Hi sir, Where we get file options in 2007 version and also how to add Ribbons in 2007.I want to add Developer,Tool options.
in 2007 click on office button then click on excel option -> Popular -> under tab option working with excel, click show developer tab in the ribbon -> Ok. hope it helps..
Instead of custome fill , we could sinply do copy and paste what is the relevance of custom fill
What about if I want to create a list of values that I want Excel to recognize when I begin typing one of those values and autocomplete it for me?

I am not having an edit custom list option in general or anywhere else.
Go to File --> Options --> Advanced --> Scroll at the bottom and find Edit Custom List.
