omg pogs! i was a kid in early and mid 90s and we had some serious fights over them at elementary school, i used to have just a few, since i was more into perfumed blocks ( they probably were not a thing in america or uk ) of small paper with various cute images, stickers that i used to put on everything ( our fridge looked like hell at the time lol ) and postcards, but i was especially proud of a few pogs that my auntie brought me from states. I was happy and proud until someone stole them from my bag ( some kids were evil assholes at a time lol ).
+ORIGINAL VLOGGER 80'S WEIRD PAUL it were little scribbling blocks ( i think that this term is accurate in english ) with various pictures like cute animals, drawings, disney characters on each page of the block.I remember that they were thing when i was in second or third grade in elementary school back in probably 1998/1999 but i do have a vague memory of them even from earlier period like 1996 or 97 because my causin had them and got really pissed when i had scrawled all over the pages of few of them, because they were quite expensive in the day. People ( well mainly girls, since boys who had them were considered unmanly :D ) used to exchange pages from their blocks for pages with different pictures, girls with perfumed pages ( or pages with Disney motives on them ) were soo popular since they were REALLY expensive and therefore rare. Their popularity faded in early 2000 when pokémon epidemy broke out in my school. Im from Slovakia so thats why you never really heard of them. Also here were huge even things that any normal person would not consider worthy anything like collecting stickers from fruits, bus tickets, old telephone cards... And Im really sorry for long comment :D
Thank you, that's very interesting. I will try to find pictures of them on the internet so I can see what they looked like. I do have a collection of bus tickets (passes) and stickers from fruit! I collect lots of things most people would not!
With your magazine page collecting, I'm surprised you never bought the POG making machine, where you could place any image or photo onto a POG. But did you ever get into Tazos as well? I don't know anyone who had much of a collection just because of how much of a pain they were to collect.
They cost 5c and up at a local store. We used to find binders and weird slammers at Goodwill. I had some Star Wars Tazos. I also collected the whole Simpsons set . 8 ball pogs were popular. Grunger was my brother's fav. "The grunger puts it in the hole."
Damn, remember a good old day's. In Europe we call pogs - tazo or taso. I still have pokemon collection, also we had plastic taso series, which was made from really good plastic quality. It was selling with a gum or inside some chips packs, like cheetos etc
Hey Paul, do you know if anything from your vintage collections are particularly valuable? I wouldn't be surprised considering the amount of vintage awesomeness you have.
Roll Fizzlebeef I'm not sure! Some of the stuff I have is rare, but rare doesn't always equal valuable. Plus, not all of it is in the best of shape. It's all valuable to me though!
Now you make wish I sent you my Tazos. Tazos were the Mexican version of pogs. You got them in a bag of Sabritas, a very popular snack chip brand in Mexico. Tazos weren't cardboard, they were actually plastic.
great video mate, Ive really been loving your channel since I found it a couple of weeks ago, I can sort of remember these when I was really young, Its funny looking back at all the fads, the silliest one I can remember was for gel pens, kids at my school went crazy for them lol
that was too funny especally the last pog. i wonder if they have any value? i had an 8 ball pog when i played in a pool league i used it to mark the pocket i was shooting the 8ball in.
Joshua Christian I barely have time to make the 4 minute ones! Maybe someday my RUclips channel will become more popular and I can quit my job and focus more on it!
***** A Sony Handycam from the 90s. The camera is Video8 tape format, but I don't use that - I feed the signal into a VCR and record onto VHS tape. I do not own a digital camera.
james macias Thanks James! I always do some research for these videos. It's great because I find out all kinds of interesting things that I didn't know!
Poggs I do not, I do not consider that I collect, but I like it. Brother have had, now has his son, my nephew five years. I founded this collection of postage stamps and hockey cards. These cards not very interested in it seems to me, but the sport is starting to like. He likes to run, loves florbal and football (soccer). He would like to do judo.
I think the Ponderosa mascot"s name was Sprinkles. I vaguely remember him, because my parents usually took us to Ponderosa on the rare occasions we actually ate out.
Here's a little tick trivia for you guys name three characters that where in the comics but never in the show and where in the Ben Edland tick comics Here's my three 3. Chainsaw villante. 2. Tick hound . 1. Paul the samurai . These are the three a remember but what are your three ?
Great video, Paul. I want to live in a world where it's socially acceptable to wear whipped cream as a hat! Also, do you think you can start filming your vids on blu-ray please? I can barely see you! :)))
ORIGINAL VLOGGER 80'S WEIRD PAUL if it isn't a problem I would like to send you a photo of my collection they are all in mint condition because my step mom never touched them when she collected my Facebook is Kenny James Davis I would really like to know more about these cause I'm only 20 years old so I'm still a youngin lol

+ana rainbow There are always some bad kids! I am actually interested in these perfumed blocks you mentioned...I have never heard of them.

***** These Pogs just kind of came into my life at different times. I don't think I collected them on purpose, I guess I collected them by accident!
ORIGINAL VLOGGER 80'S WEIRD PAUL
I have the same thing with ketchup sachets and napkins. I think they actually breed in my cupboard :D
Damn I wonder what other youtubers we watch without knowing Larry!
***** haha, yes!
I remember these. Was never really into them but somehow owned the star wars ones. Don't know where I got it from.

I was never a fan of Pogs but I have a few from various 90s Comics like Spawn, Milk & Cheese and the Tick
TimBurFilms Wow, Milk & Cheese pogs!
I loved pogs
They cost 5c and up at a local store. We used to find binders and weird slammers at Goodwill. I had some Star Wars Tazos. I also collected the whole Simpsons set . 8 ball pogs were popular. Grunger was my brother's fav. "The grunger puts it in the hole."
Henry S Wow, the Grunger gets up to all kinds of shit!
I meant to say PUTTS as in golf. I wanted to do a video game token vid, but like an idiot I sold most of my tokens
Henry S wow, video game tokens! I wish I had even one of those!
Chuck E Cheese. You surely have those.
Henry S I don't think so...might have some tickets lying around though

Anybody in Minnesota with POGs? I would love to play!
Loved pogs... Then I got over it and floated them all down the river next to my house lol

Please update from vhs quality to DVD. I can't see this at all.
UNKNOWNGAM3r I film all my vlogs on VHS tape. So there would be no way to update the quality.
UNKNOWNGAM3r
It would be strange and anachronistic somehow if it were digital quality.
ORIGINAL VLOGGER 80'S WEIRD PAUL oh ok. I'm far sighted so I think I'm the only one with this problem. (You deserve a subscribe *click*)

segaandmore Ah the gel pens! I remember my son had a bunch of those.
Man, that's one thing I ever got. Admittedly I was a bit beyond the target age range, but not by much, and I never got the appeal.
Vebinz Yeah I knew not everyone would relate to this video, but they are still either funny or cool to look at!
that was too funny especally the last pog. i wonder if they have any value? i had an 8 ball pog when i played in a pool league i used it to mark the pocket i was shooting the 8ball in.
Fexican Kringle That's great, there can be actual uses for pogs!
Entertainingly informative! I wish your videos were a weeebit longer...say 45 min each?
Joshua Christian I barely have time to make the 4 minute ones! Maybe someday my RUclips channel will become more popular and I can quit my job and focus more on it!
ORIGINAL VLOGGER 80'S WEIRD PAUL
That would be awesome!!!!!!!
Ive got an Official Collectors album the world Pog federation ... id like to sell it .... where should I go?
The only place to sell something like that would be eBay...maybe Etsy. Or you could check Facebook to see if there's a group there for selling pogs.
What do you film with
***** A Sony Handycam from the 90s. The camera is Video8 tape format, but I don't use that - I feed the signal into a VCR and record onto VHS tape. I do not own a digital camera.

Wow mate , i am sure if you try to sell all of the odd collections you have in your house. You will have a fortune.
Canavar Man I wish. I think most of it is either incomplete, broken or just not worth much!
I think the Ponderosa mascot"s name was Sprinkles. I vaguely remember him, because my parents usually took us to Ponderosa on the rare occasions we actually ate out.
Yaoi Pervette Wow, awesome! Another mystery solved, thanks! That was the place my parents always took us, too.
