I love how Ryan Coogler changed Namors origin to the aztec/Mayan culture since it would be to similar to Aquaman. Makes a lot of since because the aztec/Mayan culture has a story similar to Atlantis. I'm at awe that my Mexican culture is being represented and Ryan Coogler is the one person I know would represent it the correct way. It'll be bigger then avengers end game to be honest. Just because of how emotionally invested every MCU fan is.
As a black man l couldn't be happier for all my brown brothers and sisters.
REPRESENTATION MATTERS!!
I was really honored and proud of my heritage and culture when i saw the movie
Ryan Coogler is an absolute genius, he's pulling from the storyline, Doomwar Vol. 13, and instead of T'challa nearly surviving his encounter with Dr Doom, instead they up it to a dramatic version of the story where he sacrificed himself to save Wakanda, now the queen mother's words are extremely emotional now, and Namor was tricked by Dr Doom.
you know your shit
So that military team that invaded them was dr doom's??
DOOOOM. It was a great comic, and he would be an incredible inclusion in this trailer
Rashard It’s heavily believed to be the case. It’s been speculated for a long time now that while the main focus will be Namor/Atlantis vs Wakanda, that it’ll have been Doom behind the scenes manipulating events. Him sending in that team, is part of the chain of events. And it’s rumored (there’s supposedly leaker concept art) of Doom in the post credits
@@herbertstory812 it was leaked lmfao
Just to let you guys know - Namor is a mutant, a human, and an Atlantean. In the comics his father is a human and his mother is an Atlantean princess, I'd imagine they'll be changing his origin slightly but he'll still be a human Atlantean hybrid. It's why he can breathe both underwater and air up on the surface, has superhuman strength ,speed ,stamina ,agility ,can use telepathy, and can also fly.
I swear they have the mutants back so they should change him
Like aquaman
They change everyone else's origin why not Namor?
Namor is an Aztec in the MCU
@@ayushvaishnav3957 Namor was created in 1939, Aqua-queer didn't make his first appearance 'til 1941.
Good point about how different this one looks. I'm loving it just for that, because a lot of Marvel properties are becoming so similar in tone and feel lately. And yeah, the shots are gorgeous.
The other Black Panther movie was equally captivating with the cinematography so I think they actually are staying true to what they presented with the story… We have been exposed to too many kind of slapstick lighthearted MCU stuff for a while… It’s time to get back to something a little bit more dramatic and captivating.
Yayy for Ryan Coogler! He's a great director and picks the very best people for his team 👏🏾
I know eternals got a lot of hate, but the visuals were very different and this teaser reminds me of that.
@@metallicnole4514 got the same feeling. Eternals first trailer felt like an arthouse movie trailer instead of a more traditional MCU slapstick scifi vibe.
This one most definitely feels like an arthouse film too, pondered by the shadow of Chadwick in every shot of the cast, and brilliantly mixed 2 iconic songs of black music Bob Marley's No Woman no cry and Kendrick's All right together. The whole audio-visual artistry and emotional intensity of this trailer is probably the most stunning any MCU project had ever done, and I'm kinda thinking this specific trailer's gonna have a life on its own besides the movie.
@@metallicnole4514 I loved the Eternals, and I feel like that flavor is why it is more controversial among fans. Really worked for me though
Facts. Ryan Coogler directed Fruitvale Station, Creed and Black Panther all phenomenal films. This is about to be his fourth ace in the hole. Wakanda Forever!!!
Bob Marley’s “No Woman no Cry”, followed by Bob Marley’s “Three Little Birds” sandwiching Angela Basset’s powerful speech! Wow! Shuri crying the imagery, the shots whooooo! Let’s go!!!!!
Black Panther represents black excellence. No one can out do Chadwick Boseman’s T’Challa. He will not be recast. Shuri might be our new Black Panther.
The mourning of T'Challa won't take much effort from the actors in the film.
It looks beautiful and Atlanteans vs Wakandans I'm here for it and it's clear who the new Black Panther is but yes Chadwick is sorely missed but I will honor his memory and support everyone that made this happen because I know it wasn't easy.
Yeah I agree.. Letitia Wright (Shuri ) was so emotional at Comic Con especially at the end they all surrounded her in a hug
Film Theory: reason it might be Michael B Jordan in the Black Panther suit. In the first movie when Killmonger dies his final words were “bury me in the ocean where my ancestors died” something like that. Namor the Atlantean from trailer might bring Killmonger back to life using water magic or something to heal him. If there’s one thing we learned in Marvel this past year is that no one really dies. If they do they come back to life. Also when the Black Panther suit is revealed at the end of the trailer the lyrics say “and when I wake up” hinting Killmonger’s resurrection. Just a film theory.
Just a question. Why bring him back, since he was a bad to the Wakandans and with Namar being a nemesis, wouldn't that be overkill?
@@traceytracey3756 If you kinda think about it Wakanda was bad to Killmonger too. Sure his father was bad for stealing vibranium but it was kinda wrong for T’Challa’s dad to leave Killmonger by himself as a kid. I don’t think Namor is going to be the antagonist if anything it will be mercenaries that will provoke both Atlanteans and Wakanda to fight each other. Bringing back Killmonger could be a redemption story for him. The death of his cousin will inspire him to change his ideals and do better for Wakanda. Sure Killmonger wont be good automatically but it will be a story arc that is interesting. He can rule Wakanda and finally fulfill his destiny that his father couldn’t. It wouldn’t be overkill at all because we have films like Infinity War and Endgame that had numerous villains and heroes alike. By now the audiences are self aware that a Marvel film will be packed with action and characters. However it’s just speculation, it’s up to Ryan Coogler and Michael B Jordan to decide if they want to revive Killmonger.
How can you heal someone that’s been dead for so long? That dude was deader than a door knob by the time Namor came around.
That’s a woman in the suit. It’s likely Shuri. That doesn’t mean Killmonger isn’t coming back. I share the same theory but I think they’re going to save that for the end of the movie to make way for another. They will let emotions from T’challas passing and the new discovery of Atlantis take control of most of this film. Seeing Shuri take up her brothers throne in an effort to overcome an overwhelming obstacle makes for a large and intense emotional response. Yet, we all know that we all want more of The Black Panther with a man behind the mask who can embody T’challa on more levels. It makes sense from a casting standpoint as well as an MCU standpoint. Killmonger is a fan favorite villain who died speaking words of subtle redemption. T’challa was thought to be dead after Killmonger defeated him in the duel for the throne but as we all saw, he was saved by the Jabari tribe (an enemy who became ally) and somewhat resurrected. The same can be done here with Killmonger. Saved by the enemies (Atlantis) who is more than likely to become an ally by the end of the movie. Or saved by anyone for that matter but I do believe he essentially will be back to suit up as the black panther. The fact he had the black panthers suit in the 1st movie just makes for an eerie but smooth and sensible transition. Plus people seem to resonate very well with villains who become heroes. Winter soldier, Scarlett Witch, Loki, Black Widow, Hawkeye, Venom, Deadpool etc.
DAMN, that's an awesome theory. I hope you're right.
Damn this trailer was emotional. Can't wait for this movie.
Seriously I had tears and I was not expecting that at all.
That TEMS cover... wow. And This looks epic. Will be interesting to see what they do with Namor after this. He's been on and off again villain and hero. I've got some OLD school comics with him like the first series of short stories. So looking forward to seeing him in film. I think this will be a record breaker at the box office again.
3:17 those are a variation of the OLD school Atlantean ships that would travel in underwater and fly. I wonder if they will shoot steam like the old school comics as well.
This trailer really hits different man . Honestly the cinematic shots , scenes and all , new characters, storyline are great just the way it it always was and should be , just beautiful but that poster ....had me .....
Chadwick boseman will always be our king. Embambe x3 Long live the king . Wakanda Forever
If you watch the scene with the underwater birth, you'll see the baby has wings on his feet too. At first I thought it could be T'Challa and Nakia's baby, but now I realize it's Namor. Watched this trailer like 5 or 6 times and I still get choked up....Angela Bassett just delivers. Thanks for sharing your reaction.
Isn't it obvious that the baby is Namor though? First the fact that the baby is born underwater followed by a scene of Namor, then there's also 2 scenes of Namor as a child and adult rising from the water.
Deeeeelivers!!!!
A commenter on another video and I wondered as well if the child in the throne room is T’Challa and Nakia’s (3:41)? He looks to be grabbed by a Dora. Not sure if regular children are allowed in the throne room but it’s interesting especially it’s that’s a Dora “protecting” him.
I’m so excited!!
Angela Bassett's performance brought me to tears
"have you ever seen a Marvel trailer look less like a Marvel property" lol thats a great complement
I subscribed to this channel solely based off this teaser reaction. I love how you guys show so much appreciation on every single detail. Everything and everyone looks so good, you can tell just from this teaser alone someone is going to win an award for either the costuming, the directing/cinematography, or the acting. If no one does I will riot lol.
I'm so excited for this movie. Ryan Coogler is around my age and attended the same college (Saint Mary's) as me so I've always rooted for him, and he's always knocked things out of the park. I'm glad Nerdy mentioned Fruitvale Station cause that is one amazing movie by Coogler that's not talked about recently though it's always been great. Really curious on how they'll set up who'll be the Black Panther for future movies too
I actually Stan brilliance and the way Ryan subtlety opened the trailer and how it builds with the music and that one line delivered by the Angela Basset….genius!
You can tell that it's the birth of Namar by the wings on his ankles.
This trailer is stunning! Absolutely blown away by the emotion.
Black Panther - The Way of Water
This teaser trailer is making me feel really emotional right now, and I know that I'll definitely be crying from beginning to end when this movie releases this November.
Amazing trailer! I’ve been SO EXCITED for this movie. Ryan Coogler knows exactly what he’s doing
I fully agree, this is an absolutely gorgeous trailer, some shots were stunning, probably gonna be the best looking MCU movie (and most emotional)
The baby born underwater had wings at the ankles…Prince Namor(mutant).
Yup seen that hopefully this movie brings both cultures together..
Did not expect to see the best trailer of the year. Jesus
They wear blue in the comics because they rebel against the kingdom... they (ex red guards/concubines) fight and kill anyone mistreating women.... and go around recruiting those women they rescue. The women who wear red... are potential mates to the kings... recruited throughout the kingdom and represent their tribes. The king cannot "take" one, less he offends the other tribes for not choosing one of them. These new women, wear blue against the subjugation of their sisters. Ps... Notice the Black Panther suit is black and GOLD... think about what just happened with Dr. Strange... and see where this is or is going. I just hope they take advantage of the material this is based on... and introduce Dr. Doom as the string puller.
I can see Ryan going above and beyond with the lighting. I remember the first Black Panther film had a lot of dark shots and I remember it being a talk on social media.
Y actually love how this looks at first y had no interest on this movie at first but this trailer just looks beautifully done loving how marvel is making all of their films feel different and this one just feels different in a good way definitely looking forward to it
Your knowledge of cinematography 🔥 subscribed
The color is what happens when dark skin has the right lighting. He was not washing anyone out. Also, for the costuming Ruth Carter deserves all her flowers for the design. And choosing Tems to recreate Bob Marley's No Woman No Cry was a perfect choice.
You nailed it, I was thinking the same about the white
@@sirwilliamclickclack7492 That is the most visually stunning scene for me.
@@estherhills2674 Agreed
I watched ALL the trailer reactions to Wakanda Forever and u can alwayssssss tell the point the reactors forget they are 'reacting' and go into a state of shocked awe
Great Reaction! Just subscribed
Actually, I think it was Chadwick's brother said that his brother would have approved if someone took his place and just what we know about Cadwick, I think his brother is right. But watching this trailer, really gives the feels
About the guy in green and the woman in blue, remember that in BP1 when T'Challa was going to his waterfall ceremony, several of the varying tribes of Wakanda are signified by differing colors such as red, blue, green, and yellow. This could mean representation for those other tribes that were only glimpsed during that ceremony.
I actually love the idea of there being other versions of the Dora Milaje in the other clans!
The blue is not Wankada they're Atlantanins they're all blue except Namor because he's a Mutant
@@michaelcar9268 He was talking about the Dora Milaji woman wearing blue armor, not that their skin was blue.
@@samanthapadilla4813 oh ok got ya
@@michaelcar9268 he talks about the suit colour and not the skin colour.
Amazing reaction 👌👌👌
Excellent review!
This is for Chadwick...
You are absolutely right about that childbirth in the water being beautiful.
And I think we can see little Namor's little wings on his ankles in that shot as well.
But, for me, it's the "Ironheart" moment which made it for me. That an the monologue.
The blue armor is Midnight Angel armor, a stealth group special forces made by a former Dora Milage, the one there named Aneka who is Ayo's girlfriend (the dora milage from Falcon and Winter Soldier)
So sad that a bank here in Atlanta called the police on him thinking he was a bank robber last year. All he was doing is withdrawing $12,000 from his account.
You're absolutely right, it isn't like a usual Marvel trailer at all
The colors aren't there just to make the whole thing colorful just for the sake of it (*cough*Thor Love and Thunder*cough*)
The colors are used in a beautiful and moving way and the whole teaser showcases great emotional depth and a stunning color palette that will perfectly enhance the symbolism and the meaning of all the scenes raising them beyond your usual Marvel action movie
All considered, I have very high hopes for this !
BEAUTIFUL ♥️🤧
Marvel should make a permanent museum just for their props and costumes. For all their movies. I would travel across the world for that and I've seen many reactions to this trailer. But the fact that you talk about the shots, compositions and imagery, colors etc, for someone that went to school for this. that makes me smile. So thank you
Just because they aren’t recasting T’Challla, doesn’t mean they never will. Let the story play out the way it is for now. There will eventually be another T’Challa.
Seeing the Atlanteans on the War Whales gave me SUCH Fremen-riding-Sandworms vibes.
It would make sense for Shuri to take up the Black Panther mantle considering how much she loved her brother and she made the technology. When Shuri daps Riri she's wearing a necklace which could be where the suit is hidden. I'm very interested to find out how T'Challa died which is definitely going to make me cry. Great reaction!
I love the seats 💺
I think I'm gonna fall asleep tonight thinking about this image. ❤️ I love y'all. So much loss since 2020. God's blessings be on this Masterpiece movie to honor Chadwick to cry together, to strengthen and to heal. ❤️
Awesome trailer with tears in my eyes! 🥰
I agree, i would love to see Ryan Coogler do a smaller film again after Wakanda Forever. However, i also would love if after he does his own thing for a while, Marvel picks Ryan for Avengers Kang's Dynasty and Avengers Secret Wars. It's been confirmed now that the Russo Brothers are not doing the Phase 6 Avengers movies and if Marvel is going to hire from within to helm those movies, i think it should absolutely be Ryan Coogler.
I seriously kept playing this longer than I intended because I wanted to see if you noticed the baby had wing feet and then you paused it ON THE SCENE and just sat there talking about everything BUT the feet LOL :)
Amazing!!!
So nice
The movie, the music alone gives me goosebumps when they mix Bob Marley to Kenneth Lamar
Looks pretty epic
Love the reaction .. We gon be alright
Just in case you guys missed it, the baby being water born is Namor and if you look closely you can see he has his ankle wings at birth.
The movie was far from perfect, but remembering Chadwick, this trailer brings me to tears every time. Damn. RIP OG Black Panther.
the woman in blue is Aneka (played by Michaela Coel), who in the comics becomes romantically involved with Ayo of the Dora Milaje (Florence Kasumba). so if they stick with that (and I hope they do!), this will likely not play in China or the other countries that have tried to demand Marvel and Disney censor the queer representation and content from their films.
When the new Black Panther visits the Ancestors during the trial to gain her/his powers, we'll for sure see T'Challa again, though it'll be a digitally inserted face-swap on a stunt person. And that'll be a pin-drop moment in the theatre.
They already confirmed they aren't using CGI for T'Challa and the leaks said that Killmonger will be used for that scene (the leaks so far have turned out to be true). We won't see T'Challa at all in the film, even though they could have given us at least something
I’m pretty sure they’re not gonna do that.
@@SE-gs6gd yeah, it would honestly be creepy and disrespectful from an African perspective which I think they're sensitive to. It's just not done.
Remember that blue arm wearing the bangle in Ms Marvel??? I think it was an Atlantean arm, based solely on this trailer and its proximity to Ms Marvel in the CU timeline.
The way that... this trailer. Jesus. You can't. Yo...
Yes.
All I can say.
Exactly
They made the right call. There is NO other Black Panther.
Me: "Why did someone cut out a metal L?"
Nerdy: "Oh Riri is cutting out an Iron heart"
Me: ohhhhhhhhh *blush*
6:18 you can see the wings on the baby's feet as well.
0:57 100%! I wanted the MCU to pick up Aldis Hodge to play T'Challa before DC cast him to be their Hawkman, but alas it wasn't meant to be. It saddens me that we will NEVER get stories of Storm and T'Challa on the silver screen ='( T'Challa's story was taken away from us too soon.
I do, however, look forward to this movie, and I'm curious to see how they plan to move forward. I'd be lying if I didn't say that I'm still holding out hope that they're looking for a Multiverse solution for T'Challa, even a variant going by a different name, ala Sylvie.
I think it's best to recast Tchalla. Young Black men and boys deserve to see another Black Panther on screen. Hell, well all need it.
Chadwick was amazing & I think he would want his character to live on...
Y'Lan Noel
They'll probably recast T'Challa in the next phase. Since this is the last movie of this Phase, it makes sense to keep these actors and not replace Chadwick Boseman. It would have been too unfair to the actor playing the new T'Challa to step into Chadwick's shoes right now. His passing is too new and emotions are too raw for people to accept a recast right now.
@@TraceyJean I can picture that, but I also think that a new T'Challa will not be of the 616 Universe, but one from a universe destroyed by the incursions we keep hearing about. I wouldn't be surprised if a majority of the mutants come from that world too.
I bought my first Black Panther comic in 1969...it was amazing to a black hero on a comic book cover. Love and respect to Stan Lee and Jack Kirby...thumbs down to Disney/Marvel for ending this iconic character just to honor the passing of an actor. I think Chad Stan and Jack would agree.
I think the people invading work for Dr Doom
That’s what all the rumors are pointing towards
I've read that Chadwick's brother has stated that Chadwick would have wanted the role to be recast as he wouldn't have wanted the character to die with him.
The birthing shot is actually 3 people and I think lupita will be the new black panther only because she's not really shown that much in the preview. And we know for a fact that she's been working out on her IG page a lot. But also go look at the finger tips of the black panther suit. It actually looks like a woman's nails. The Atlantis are going to be some type of way connected to Wakanda. Only because if you look at Neymar suit there is a Black panther connected to that.
It's definitely Shuri you can clearly see its a woman in the Black Panther suit at the end of the trailer at 1st I thought it was Killmonger but then I watched it a few times and you can definitely see it's a woman which honestly im here for it😅🤧🔥
the baby has wings on his feet too wow
Namor / Iron Heart & the new Black Panther , i can't wait to see this movie
To be fair. in the comics. Atlanteans in marvel have been blue.
The body in the Black Panther totally looks female. The waist to hip ratio is slight but clear, and look at the ankles, legs. That looks like Letitia’s build.
The atlanteans in marvel comics looked exactly like that, blue and all. When they were created in the 60s.
It disturbsme that 90% of the girl particpations are syllables😅. I do thank that this is the only video where the youtubers aren´t crying. I think this is one of the few Marvel movies i´m gonna enjoy.
What I'm guessing the pit chamber with the fire is Shuri being tested if she is worthy of being the new Black Panther & I'm going to say this now the theaters are going to be packed for weeks.
Don't know why I'm getting the feeling Shuri is not black panther. Nakia is in the trailer without any clear role she's playing. And to think that she and T'challa got back together at the end of the first film. What if they married and she is the next BP... what if...
Ramonda says her entire family is gone, where is shuri? Who is picking up the mantel? Okaye? Nakia?
Didja notice the little fins on the bb 😆
Here!
i agree ryan coogler is GOAT
I am thinking that last shot is not a panther, but a Jaguar. I think it is a Marvel misdirect. If it is a Jaguar, it would be Atlantis based.
what does he say in min 5:58?
Honestly we don’t want the recasting of Chadwick. In our community is a big deal, he’s not just an actor , He IS OUR SUPER HERO in real life. Nobody is going to bring us together like how he did opening night. Our community was so proud of that moment. I feel this one is going to be amazing and I can’t wait to cry and have all this black girl magic. Plus if we’re going by the comic book, his sister actually take his place so why not let shuri do her thing 🖤🖤🖤🖤
I think Namor's character would be like Wanda's character. A hero would later on turn into a villain/anti-hero. Also, they just teased us Iron Heart.
I think the music was the best part of the trailer, though the whole thing was really good.
When OG characters can be "re-imagined" to accommodate a "few". Then what's the harm in re-cast? 🤭🤭🤣
The baby had wings on his feet
First time here, home boy seems genuinely into this…she honestly looks look she couldn’t care less
Chadwick Boseman was outstanding but I think he should got recast
R.I.P

🤲🏻
The water birth scene is Namor's birth. If you look closely the baby has little wings on his feet. And I believe the scene all in white is T'Challa's funeral.

Namor isn't actually the villain, but of course he has to lead them, because he is their King. The real villain is Attuma and he starts the conflict.
Fruitvale Station, based on a true story, was phenomenally done.
It’s one of my favorite movies of all time. I was floored by both Coogler and Jordan from then on
