Amen brother !!! I'm a pastor and have been divorced and have had churches turn me away on that basis alone. Sad there's a lot of very qualified men called to preach and struggle to find a church due to misinterpretation normally because it's what they heard by someone else. Good word brother!!

According to the Scriptures and the ecumenical canons, it is a bar against ordination. No Christians were allowed to have more than one wife at a time. Even if a man is married for a second time, because his first wife died, this was (and is) seen as a disqualification.
@@DavidFallon-f8c The Bible speaks of being the husband of only one wife. No Christians were allowed to have 2 wives at a time, so obviously, this means one wife period. This is the clear historic meaning of the text.
Wondered about this. I’ve grown up in a church where it included divorce in the leadership qualification invedtigstion. I accepted that i was disqualified for church leadership when i got divorced.
