Hey Jenny! I've been following your channel for some time now and I absolutely love your videos. I love how you've learned to maintain your natural hair. I understand that living in Korea can be a challenge when it comes to finding curly hair products or finding good hair stylists who know how to manage or style curly or coily hair textures. But you've done well. I'm a black girl with type 3C, 4A and 4B hair. If you would like to learn how to grow your natural hair very long I can help you with that. I have long hair myself and I would love to share some haircare tips with you if you are interested😊. 1. Try to separate your natural hair into sections when washing or detangling and styling your hair. Natural hair has a tendency to shrink when it's wet so stretching it helps to avoid matting and tangles. Shrinkage is good. It means that your hair is healthy. Shrinkage is also a protective mechanism. The curls and coils in our hair are actually weak points so shrinkage is our hair's natural method of protecting itself from harsh external elements. 2. Avoid brushing and combing your hair when it's dry. Natural curly hair may feel abit rough to touch but its actually very fragile and prone to breakage. It's always best to detangle it when its wet, apply a thick conditioner with lot's of slip and use a wide tooth comb or tangle teaser or your fingers. Make sure to detangle VERY GENTLY from the ends to the roots. Detangle your hair in small sections at a time. Once you have detangled one section, loosely twist or braid that section to keep it streched so that it doesn't shrink too much. Repeat this step with other sections of your hair. Remember to make sure that each section is wet and has lots of conditioner in it. 3. Avoid over manipulation. Other ethnicities have stronger hair. Their hair types (white people, Indian people and ethnic Asians) is thicker in diameter and able to withstand tension from constant brushing or combing. Natural curly hair IS NOT the same. The diameter of each strand is typically very thin. Our strands are not able to withstand alot of tension so too much combing, brushing, pulling, and slicking with gel constantly can lead to hair thinning, hair loss, traction alopecia and hair breakage. 4. Use protective hairstyles to retain length. Natural hair likes to be well moisturised, stretched and left alone. A protective hairstyle is any hair style that you keep long term (2 weeks or more), that helps keep the ends of your hair tucked away and protects your hair from harsh elements. Protective styles may include: mini twists, mini braids, box braids, boho braids, faux locs, passion twists etc. Be sure to moisturise your ends daily or weekly with water, oil or leave-in conditioner. The ends of our hair are prone to dryness and breakage. 5. Avoid heat. Excessive use of heat can be very damaging to our natural hair. Constant blow drying or flat ironing the hair exposes the weak points and causes it to lose its strength and curl pattern. Heat damaged hair no longer shrinks or curls up. Heat damaged hair looks limp and dead and stringy. 6. Oil your scalp and massage it to stimulate hair growth and sleep wearing a satin bonnet or pillowcase every night to protect it from excessive friction and moisture loss. Please don't sleep with your hair unprotected😢. 7. Trim once or twice a year to avoid horrible brittle split ends. Use proper shears not kitchen scissors. I know my message is super super super long😅 but if you have the patience to read it that would be awsome. Your hair is absolutely beautiful and don't let anyone bully you about your curly hair. I wish you all the best with your hair journey ❤
@@liinie825 that's awesome keep it up😊. Minimising heat can be hard at first. I used to be obsessed with blowdrying my hair constantly many years ago. It took a long time to break the habit but slow and steady wins the race. Now I never use any heat at all. I go years without it. Feel free to let me know if you'd like any tips on natural hair😊
With number 4, that might be hard for her to follow. You know, since she does videos like these, always styling her hair for school and changes it up for her modeling gigs.
By the way your may not be 4b or 4c.. it might be 4a or 3c just try applying gel, mousse, leave in and you might find out! Remember to try it on socking wet hair And also section your hair to apply the products better! Brushing curly hair that tybed 3c or 4a make it look like it's afro tho it's not!
As someone with a similar hair texture who recently started to take better care of her hair [since this January] I'm so proud of Jenny!! I just want to reach into the screen and give her a HUGE hug and teach her everything I know about Type 4 hair🎀☀️ All the best on your hair routine Jenny!!☀️🩷
@@__Jennypark__ Jenny your hair is not 4c you are not apply your hair products correctly you need to part your hair in small sections and apply product using your hands and you are not supposed to be using a brush. instead use a wide tooth comb
Lot's of love from India , to be honest I really love your natural hair and also your facial features and your skin tone , you're very pretty just can't explain ❤❤❤🥺
Here’s a tip! For your hair type you can use products like MIELLE hair shampoo, conditioner, and leave-in conditioner. For hair gel you can use moco gorilla punk squizz hair gel for when u want to put hair gel in ur whole head. If u want to do your edges you can use a stronger edge control that is supposed to be used for edges if u want to have a strong hold, examples of this would be she is bomb edge control and gummy edge control for ur edges. If you ever want to blow dry your hair make sure u wash it with the products highly recommended and go in with blue magic hair greace that is SPECIFICALLY made for our hair type. A recommended blow dryer I use is Revlon one-step ceramic hair dryer or KISS 1875 Watt Pro Tourmaline Ceramic Hair blow dryer. If you ever want to straighten your hair, to make sure it is safe and doesn’t get damaged you can use MIELLE organics hair nourishing thermal protectant spray. And to keep ur hair straightene for a while use MIELLE avocado & tamanu anti-frizz stay straight serum. If you ever want to do your hair in different styles I recommend blow dryer your hair on low heat or cool rather than using a straightening comb or flat iron so your hair won’t become damaged. If u want ur hair to grow just use MIELLE organics rosemary mint strengthening oil, apply it every other week and braid your hair in either knotless braids or do a braiding style to keep it in for 3 weeks to a month. Recommended combs to use for our hair type is Large Wide Tooth Comb, Evolve Detangling Brush. When brushing your hair into a sleek style use a hard boar bristle brush. It really gets it sleek. When combing your hair, section your hair in 4 part so you don’t rip out extra hair . Water is ur best friend when doing your hair. If u can’t brush through ur hair just use a little water to help. Hope this helps!!❤
