As a newbie, how did you finish it off? How did you finish of as a stand alone braid? And how did you finish it off as a belt? I assume that you would need to include a buckle or D ring or something.
A way I find easier to braid this 10 strand braid is starting with 6 strands on the left, 4 on the right: Leftmost strand: Over 2, Under 3. Leftmost strand: Over 2, Under 2. Rightmost strand: Over 2, Under 3. Rightmost strand: Over 2, Under 2. Repeat.... If tou want an even easier way to twill braid, start with 9 strands. Left side 5 strands, Right side 4 strands: Leftmost Strand: Over 2, Under 2. Rightmost Strand: Over 2, Under 2. Repeat.... You can use the same 2 Over, 2 Under sequence for any multiple of 4 + 1 strands (5, 9, 13, 17, 21,25,29,33, etc...) adding more 2 under and 2 overs to the sequence as necessary.
Lovely, clear instructions! Can't
wait to try this. Thanks very much.
how do you determine how much cord you need? I want to braid a piece that will be 4 feet
nice design. how do you tighten it and how do you tie the ends the off?

How wide is the finished belt? Thanks.
how wide is this? I'm assuming you end with a belt clamp?
not quite the same twill as in weaving on a loom but still nice
how do you figure out how much cord you need?
I suppose you measure it by how long it is at a bend.
