I stocked my son's kitchen from the Dollar Tree. I love their kitchen stuff!
The only item you missed, that was a "must-have" for him is coasters. They have the kind that absorb moisture and have adorable sayings on them.
Other than that, you just listed off the contents of his apartment-warming gift.

The Betty Crocker line is pretty dope. I am an artisan soap maker, and I use spatulas to get every last bit of soap out of my pot and into the mold. You cannot use those spatulas for eating because of the lye you work with.
The writing on the measuring cups and spoons. Put a couple of coats of clear nail polish over the writing. Problem solved
I love the scissors, love the clips. Love the aluminium pans. I double up on them for things heavy, like a turkey.
I have several of the big plastic bowels that have a pour spout on one end, and a handle on the other. They are freaking awesome.
I also like the little fluted cups that come in a package of 3. They are the perfect size for condiments or for a small snack container. Just don't microwave them. They will crack. Not sure If they're ok for the dishwasher.....I don't had one of those. (I hate them)

You are absolutely right about the aluminum foil bakeware. Years ago when I was in college, we tried to make a turkey in one of those. As soon as we took it out of the oven (and there were three of us doing so because it felt so flimsy), the side folded down and the turkey slid to the floor. We obviously couldn't save the broth, but we washed the turkey in the sink and ate it anyway. I have since found however that if you buy 3 of those foil bakeware trays and stack all three together before inserting the turkey, then they work relatively well. You can even get away with just 2 if you are roasting a small turkey (12 or 14 lbs). Still, just in case, I would put it all on a cookie sheet. That way, you can save your money until you can afford a GOOD roaster pan or take it to the potluck without worrying whether your good bakeware might get scratched. Or for taking dinner to a sick friend without the inconvenience of dish return.

I think my favorite DT find a couple of years ago was good sized, wide, shallow bowls that I use as pasta bowls. They're plain white and they're really perfect. I'd decided I needed pasta bowls, but didn't want to spend more than $2/each for them...then I found these in DT and was thrilled! I even bought some for my brother.

If you really love clips, don’t forget the plastic coated wire clips usually found at the registers!

Yes the .50 aluminum disposable pans are flimsier than the ones that cost $3 each at the grocery store. BUT all you have to do is put a cookie sheet under it for support, and it works great and the clean up is just as easy. You can purchase a dollar tree cookie sheet at the dame time and still come in under the expensive foil pans.

I use them with a cookie sheet beneath them too. But you do have to be careful that you don't cut through the bottoms if what you're serving needs to be cut in the pan to serve it, like lasagna.

Really? I've been trying to find a work around for that.
May I ask how have you been using it since you put nail polish on the written part, and does it even last through washings? I use my measuring cups quite frequently, everyday, more than once.

*I LOVE the metal scraper **3:52* I don't know how many of yous make Mexican food, like Tamales.
But those of you who do know how much of a struggle it is to spread the masa on the leaf.
Sure there's products designed specifically for that purpose that can cost anywhere from $5.- $12.00 which is fair for some people, just not me.
I bought that scraper at the dollar store last yr before Thanksgiving just to try it out thinking it'll helped so much with my tamale making, because I've tried sooo many things and nothing worked quite like the tool you can buy that's for spreading the masa..... Until I tried the scraper.
It's fantastic, I use it for everyday cooking also and the little ruler guide on it also helps when you want crust or pastries a certain thickness.
*Dollar tree should advertise that for Tamale making, I'm sure they'll sell out in no time*

In 💟love💟 w/the metal scraper too. Brilliant for cutting bread, pizza, or tortilla dough into perfect portion sizes. No fuss no muss.
Also 💟 big metal ladle spoon that is perfect for scooping soups or stews out of an IP as well as pouring pancake or waffle batter.
Unlike thicker plastic ones, I also find the flimsy metal spatula works better to remove baked cookies from parchment paper. The scraper will do it in a pinch too.
😉Wish I knew about the nail polish trick, went through 2 sets of plastic measuring spoons. Tried sharpie, but that was too temporary. The plastic measuring cup sizes are easier to figure out. Love having multiples on big batch Sunday, so not having to wash every 5 minutes.
Many non-stick surfaces require using a coated spoon or spatula to prevent scratching, but I worry about chemicals used to make 'em and how they react under high heat esp. when purchased from some dollar store. Some plastics are particularly temperature sensitive and might off-gas in extreme temps. When it comes to plastic, having a reputable brand is important. Metal seems safer.🤗

I got a pair of black kitchen shears there that worked well, but that was a very long time ago, probably around 2001 or so. Mine were still working until two years ago. My husband decided to use them to pare back our lantana bush when he couldn't find the garden shears, then he forgot to bring them inside and they got rained on during one of our longer storms that lasted about four days. When he finally remembered that he'd left them out, they'd rusted. Until then, though, they'd worked great.

Be careful with dollar tree oven mitts, twice I bought them and twice they had holes along the seams on the inside of the thumbs. It wasn't noticeable at first glance, and I figured it was just a fluke that the first pair had a hole and not thinking I bought a second set of oven mitts and I ended up burning my thumb again because I didn't take the time to check them over. So don't be like me and learn the hard way, give them a quick once over before you buy and save yourself the grief lol

I love your suggestions. All but one...I really like the Bounty Essentials paper towels. They are $.97 at Walmarts that carry them. I like the absorption and the fact they are a whole sheet. i am personally not fond of the split sheet paper towels. I find most things I use paper towels for, require an entire sheet. I also get the Sparkle paper towels at $ Store or Walmart for my kitchen and table as they are decorative. Not the best as far as cleaning though.
I know some like VIVA and I do not. They may be absorbent but they leave a film and little fibers everywhere. Just a thought, but I do very much appreciate your input. I think all of us have our likes and dislikes, but your are spot on with so many items. Thank you.

Hi. This is my first time finding your channel. Great review of those Dollar Tree items. Good thing you kept your dollar and left the metal spatula! I've bought that and it snapped after a couple of uses. Other people I know said the same; I wish they had told me before, that's one dollar I could have saved. I love the water bottles, the ones I've bought didn't leak but they are very easy to break if you happen to drop them. I have a couple of those cooking pans; they are really a deal! I always hand-wash them and they are just as good as some you'd pay a lot more for at some department stores! I also love those plastic food containers! They have them in so many different sizes and usually 2, 3, or 4 per pack; another great deal! And that chopper/scrapper...I didn't even know Dollar Tree had that, so I'll have to check the next time I'm there. Do you know how much those cost at other stores; and you forgot to mention that this one has a tape measure which could come hand for bakers that want to cut (chop) dough a certain size!! That flatware IS pretty good; ours is 2 for $1. But still, just pick up a couple whenever you need for all those summer, birthday, family, and holiday get-togethers. Also, I love those measuring cups and measuring spoons! That Betty Crocker brand cost much more for the EXACT SAME ITEMS at department stores! A couple of things you didn't mention that I found to be good buys: (1) The can openers. They hold up very well and for $1 are a very good deal compared to $5-$8 for similar items at grocery and department stores. As long as you don't need an electric can opener, you can grab this for a dollar well spent. (2) Some Dollar Tree stores in our area have cork screws. These are not the really fancy ones, but they still get the job done and it's only $1. (3) Glasses and coffee mugs. I like the glasses and coffee mugs they have. You can replace a broken glass for $1 if needed and they have coffee mugs with a variety of sayings/quotes/designs on them for $1. These are great for customizing gift mugs for anyone with a hobby, that plays sports, plays a musical instrument, etc. You can never have too many coffee mugs!

I buy Awesome cleaner, lemon juice, Scott Kleenex, candles. I have bought some of the kitchen items you showed. Betty Crocker items for the must part are good quality. I have found Rubbermaid plastic refrigerator containers. The best thing I buy and love are the organizer containers. They come in beautiful colors and are perfect in drawers and my shelves all over the house. Some of them are made in really heavy duty plastic.

I love the dollar store for aluminum pans. If I feel the food is too heavy for the larger pans, I simply place it on a cookie tray. Especially for Turkey at Thanksgiving or foods like lasagna. Bonus if anything bubbles over the cookie tray catches the mess and keeps the oven clean. I hope my little bit of advice helps! Great video! I'm definitely picking up some of the items mentioned today! Thank you!

One item that I bought at the Dollar Tree was a potato peeler, Betty Crocker brand. I peel the potatoes towards me and this worked perfect for me. I was a little skeptical, but thought for a dollar I would try it and I am so glad I did. The next time I went I bought another one to have an extra on hand. Thanks for your videos, I enjoy them.

I was surprised you recommended the silverware. My experience is that the spoons are not smooth around the edges. They actually scratched my mouth. I did find them perfect for playing in the sandbox making mud pies, smoothing tissues paper designs on candles, and other craft applications, but not in the mouth.

Wish we had a Dollar Tree here in Australia. A tip with the aluminum trays - pop them on another flat tray from the oven and it will still keep everything together, and the flat tray will stay clean too.

I say pass over the plastic clips and just use binder clips in your kitchen. They have a very strong clamp (many, especially cheap, plastic ones have a weak clamp), they don't become fragile in the freezer, they don't take up a lot of space, and you can buy the normal size 10 for $1 or a larger size 6 or 8 for $1 at Dollar Tree. I started using them in my appartment and have since converted my parents. :P

I've been using binder clips instead of "kitchen clips" for years: they're inexpensive, plentiful and really do the job. They don't break and they're not bulky.

I like the big aluminum pans. I know they are flimsy, but I just put a cookie sheet under it to take it in and out of the oven. I always buy a big aluminum roasting pan for Thanksgiving. Saves me on cleaning.
I bought four of the pizza pans and I make homemade pizzas and freeze them (just wrap it in plastic wrap and make sure its sealed). Really nice when I want a pizza and its so much better than store bought. I make my own crust and sauce by scratch. A little extra effort, but so totally worth it.

I've gotten burned too many times with the oven mitts but the potholders are great. The black plastic whisks & spatulas disintegrated into anything hot I've used them in while cooking, which was really crazy as I used them exactly the same as my other namebrand kitchen utensils. I wanted to mention that I LOVE the boxes of stretchy saranwrap bowl covers they carry at DT!

I love the foil pans for transporting stuff to work. I have brought many food items in them and if they get thrown out, who cares, it was only a dollar. The pink and purple ones are perfect for bringing cupcakes or cookies to the office and they have a lid! The only thing is once the lid is on, it is on. Do not try to remove it, it will crack on you. I also recommend them for garage chores. If you have paint or oil or other messy things that you need a temporary pan for, use these. My husband used it to change the oil in the lawnmower. We also use them as a paint tray when we are making something that we want to pour just a little paint into but leave the rest in the can. We also use them for cleaning things that we don't necessarily want in our sink or if we need to use a chemical cleaner on. So they might not be good for transporting a whole casserole or something really heavy but, they are good for many other things. One more thing we use them for is our outdoor bar b ques. We transfer the burgers, brats, and dogs right into the pan and place it on the table. No need for a serving tray and it can be covered up with foil then tossed in the recycling bin when we are done. Try it, I bet you won't be sorry.

I've purchased all #19 of these Dollar Tree items and also recommend them for Events, Outdoor Outings or use in your kitchen. I have a better quality Water bottle that holds 24oz and keeps my water Cool for 24hrs so I don't use the Dollar Tree water bottles but have purchased them in the past; never had a leaking problem. Maybe the ones I purchased were a little sturdier than usual.

The metal spatula works pretty good, I had mine for about 2 yrs. now.
The red salad tongs, didn't work for me, tjey broke after a few uses, better to use metal ones or the cheaper quality clear plastic ones, located by the party paper plates/plastic party supplies, such as for weddings or other special occasions; I even use them for my table for holidays,.works great, though the salad tongs are not as big, but it still works, it's functional, looks good- even after several washings, and it's pretty cute on the table setting!

I use the foil bakeware all the time. I have found that if I place them on a 1/4 or 1/2 sheet baking tray I have much more control. The cook time doesn't change and I never have accidents where the foil could bend as I am removing it from the oven, thus spilling the hot contents everywhere.

About the Betty Crocker scissors, I love them too; however, you should remove the circle of plastic covering the metal hinge mechanism, two per pair. They come loose easily and I found one in some cabbage I was cutting up after using the scissors. This problem could lead to serious consequences , and they WILL come loose. I have four pairs and removed all the discs before I "lost" them while cooking.
