It just keeps getting better. TJ killed the production on this. It sound is so wide and full when it came to the panning. He's also outdone himself in the low end of the mix with the low synths and kick, so clear but punchy just the right sound. The textures on the instrumentation throughout the entire song had a very good contrast to the smoothness of the timbre on her voice. Speaking of her voice, the way she sang this one and the annunciation, of all the tracks this year, is perfect. Lily holding on to the note just the tiniest smidge onto the next word or phrase really made all the difference for me. I hear confidence and conviction with the supported breaths. It really helps with the direction and immersion of the song. The video is fantastic as well, Celine is lucky to have this song dedicated to her. Love love love it.

This song came out at the perfect time. My Asian parents recently said to me that "wrong desires can be fixed with the right professional help" because they suspected I'm gay. So I started packing my things and they cried saying they won't pester me about anything anymore. But they said they want me to be "traditional and happy" but who's happiness is it really for? Mines or theirs? I thought about if they really cared when they've put me in a corner all my life I couldn't own feminine things or I would have to think is my voice too high or if the clothes I wore were too gay to avoid embarrassing them. But also recently my dad destroyed my pc LEDs and confiscated my speakers because the lights belonged to a "casino" or raves and the music hurt his ears and that i was learning to be a bad or crazy person. I felt trapped inside my own home emotionally and physically. I'm happy with how I am but why can't they be happy or even okay for who I was born to be. Hurts that they think im mentally ill and need "fixing". So yeah, I finally have the means and an external support system to fall onto so I can function again. I wanna feel like not having a care im the world again like when i was a kid. Hope i can feel at peace soon.
Also thanks Lily for making music 🎶 they always bring the feeling that things can feel sad but that you'll be okay at the end of the way.
