There's a specific flavor of depression that hits late at night, when you're tired, but you can't sleep because you can't stop thinking about how much you hate yourself. This song is the only one I've heard that can capture that feeling.

at 4am on the night before i started high school, i listened to this song to help me fall asleep. the next year, on the night before sophomore year, i did the same; i did it again for junior year, and now, perhaps for the last time, im continuing the tradition. it feels weird to think this song came out so long ago, but im so grateful that it helped me get through four of my simultaneously dreariest and dreamiest nights. after all this time, now a senior, i feel ready to face the sun again, as soon as this dreamy night ends.

It's just that you need 4000 viewing hours on your channel to even monetize your video and to get that you definitely need to be making 10 minute + videos. Most times there's an ad at the end of songs. Most artists don't bother to put many ads cause 1-2 ads won't do much. The 10 minute time mark just allows you fit an extra ad before your video ends which is why it's so popular for channels that has already hit 4000 viewing hours

Going through the toughest time in my life the last couple months and I keep coming back to listen to this.
When covid hit and my depression got worse, I would blast this song nonstop while I stayed up late trying to turn in all of my missing assignments before the trimester ended...
I will forever remember how this song helped me barely pass my freshmen year of high school without needing to makeup any of my credits.
This song will always remind me of how hard 2020 was for my mental health. But it also reminds me that I was able to get out of a difficult situation and get the help I need. :)
