  • How do you make visiting the National Museum, Norway about more than just viewing Edvard Munch’s ‘The Scream’? This was a key question asked by the client team for the new National Museum, and one that Endpoint was tasked to address and solve. Endpoint’s Alison Richings joined the Sign Design Society in October 2022, to share more about the role she and her wayfinding team played in the creation of some key wayfinding strategies and clever product design for the museum, to facilitate navigation, encourage cross-selling and aid advocacy of the institution.
Finally opened in June 2022, the National Museum, Norway, located in the centre of Oslo, is the largest art museum in the Nordic region. Famous for holding one of the four ‘The Scream’ paintings by Munch, the museum draws tourists from around the world. Consolidating four out of five Norwegian national museums under one roof, it’s the new home of classic and contemporary art, architecture and design, housing a diverse collection of 5,000 works of art and artefacts.
