Check all the grounds, and all the 5v wires. Intermittent short screws up the data signal and will throw all kinds of communication related codes, could be short in the 5v on the other end of the vehicle

Can bus over run might mean it saw incorrect signals enough times to lock it into safety mode till the next run cycle
