Explorer is a scent i'll hold dear to my heart as one of the very first perfumes I got. Not the beastiest or most long lasting scent out there, but it's so charming and elegant, with a mass appeal. For the price a very solid choice. I wear this as a young man and I think it totally suits me, I keep re-buying it.

Listen Playboy! 85% of EVERYTHING in a bottle smells good no matter what it is. Most guys don’t even wear fragrance. As long as you don’t drench yourself in it, wear something. When was the last time you walked past ANYONE and smelled their fragrance? How often does that even happen to you ? EXACTLY! put on some juice!

@J.J_18 That dna is hiding in there, but it doesnt project like those two do. Its a very subtle, soft, masculine, very easy to wear fragrance that doesn't have a citrus, blue, or linen/soapy profile. For $35, it's worth it considering it layers well with other things as well.
I bought L Aventure and it made me smell of Sherbert lemon drops.. It is very synthetic and linear.... My colleagues at work said that I smelt of lemon scented baby wipes..I was very disappointed as this is not something that you want to hear when wearing a fragrance.. It earned me the nick name of "Lemon Baby" in my workplace.. I was not amused. I do have Mont blanc explorer which to my nose is much more professionally blended and has more character and is loved by most women.. It was formulated and blended by three professional perfumers where as the L Aventure was probably a rushed and hushed affair. If you want to smell like lemon pledge with a dashing of sherbet lemon drops with a lemon baby wipe dry down then you need L Aventure... Mont blanc explorer appeals to all age groups and is an amazing fragrance in its own right... L Aventure really is not a good Aventus clone at all... Aventus has much more involved than just Lemons...That is my experience with all three.
Am I alone in thinking that Aventus and Aventus clones are a bit immature smelling. I used to love it, but I think it’s a really young fragrance, the sort of fragrance that when you first get in to fragrances it smells so good and you think it’s the best but after a while (years) it gets to be cloying. To me there are way better fragrances out there. Royal Oud from Creed is spot on. Aqua Di Parma also have lots of nice fragrances, and so do Penhaligons. More grown up to me. Maybe it’s just me though? What’s everyone’s thoughts?
I'm 49 and have been wearing Aventus for four years now, mainly in a formal setting. I also wear Explorer casually. I don't find them immature, just enjoying this scent profile.
@Dominic I have Acqua Di Parma Colonia Futura, and I really enjoy it even though it's not a strong performer. I like to spray it on my wrists and inner elbow only, in order to avoid going noseblind. The Colonia Futura came out in 2020. 😊

I get a good 8-10 hours with loud projection and heavy sillage for the first 3 hours. Bleu De Chanel EDP is a skin scent in 3 hours and costs about 3 times as much.
For anyone looking for a creed aventus clone, gonna be honest with you, none of them capture the fruity and smoky birch scent you get in aventus. Also explorer side by side smells nothing like aventus aside from it also featuring a woody bergamot layer in the opening. I alternate a few fragrances including one of the newer F batches of aventus and the scent is incredible. The smokey pineapple opening drying down to a nice smokey woody scent. However, it just doesnt last long. For the pricetag it doesnt give enough longevity as many have said the batches are getting weaker and weaker.. You miss the smoke in clones and theres always a synthetic touch that anyone with a nose can pick up on but you gain a longer lasting fragrance due to the chemicals. Just dont listen to these people and expect to get aventus for $30-$50 it will not happen. Let me also throw out that mont blanc explorer is a good stand alone scent. It doesnt come over the top as a cheap clone because it has its own notes and soul where cdn intense man is just aventus dna with cheaper ingrediants and no smoke. You cant copy the best without the best ingredients. It shows in aventus clones.
@adampilarski7083 that sounds like you're going nose blind to it. Which isn't unusual especially if you spray your neck area. That being said the max I get is like 6 hours. Which is still way too short.
Well, if your reference point is the recreation of the fruity smokey aspect from Aventus, the best representation of this would be Orion from Tiziana Terenzi. Not a carbon copy, but it does do what Aventus does, but Orion ventures more into the Smokey territory.
That Explorer smells exactly like Old Spice Swagger. Maybe it's because i have a particularly unlikable coworker that wears swagger, but i hate Explorer.

I really like Explorer. To me it’s worth purchasing a full size bottle (price/performance/value). Many times I’ve considered a 5mL or 9mL. It’s less than $30, but there’s so many other thing I want to try more. I need to add Spring/Summer fragrances to my rotation but again there as so many options to discover. I’ve got Bois Imperial, Torino22, Musk Therapy & Elysium on my citrus Spring/Summer want/wish list. As good as Explorer is to me it’s still 6 or 7 deep down the list. It’s down there with Burberry Touch which is 🔥🔥🔥

It's an older 120 ml bottle. Only the newer 100 ml bottles have the curve at the top. So do the 50 ml's. Creed Aventus used to come in 30 ml, 75 ml and 120 ml sizes

Montblanc Legend EDP is my go-to, but I will run Explorer mostly in the office. When he said "Aventus-esque", I was in full nod agreement.

Your take is spot on, IMO. Explorer is OK, but so far off (to my nose) that it's no "clone." Much more a sometimes "suitable sub." Merely similar.

It doesn't smell the same. Explorer is good but not something anyone would really notice. Safe for office, unremarkable for a date.
My only gripe with explorer is the harsh opening and the poor performance. Aventus just smells way smoother

I sampled Explorer while wearing Aventus. I lol’d at the comparison. It just smelled like black pepper plus citrus to me.
Best Aventus alternative (not clone) has to be Cedrat Boise Intense by Mancera.
