Thanks for inviting me to be a part of this podcast Heath. This was a fun film to check out. The characters are so quirky and the film has an authentic look. Chris Pine was a pleasure to interview.

I saw a review that was talking about how many people walked out of the film… I don’t get it. I thought it was enjoyable. Having analyzed it, I respect how much work went into the script; as there is a payoff for a lot of the symbolism, probably all of it, since I’m sure I missed some of it. but it was fun to research as many of the references as I was able to catch.

@@CinemaTechnica I’d like to hear other opinions once the film is released later this week. It’s definitely not a mass appeal film, but is worth watching on a number of levels.

@@CinemaTechnicaI don't think I would've caught much, if any, of the symbolism without having read about it or watching a video like this. Maybe that's why people walked- they just didn't understand?

@@davidhartshorn6799 It’s the type of film that you have to pay attention to to pick up on the nuances that Heath observed. I notes some of them, but others flew by. Watching it a second time might be interesting.

This is an interesting film. It's a bit oddball and goofy, but I did enjoy it. It's probably not for everyone, but I was entertained, especially when I went back and dissected the symbolism and references.

I don't know, it's got Chris Pine and Danny "the man" DeVito, can't imagine it not fitting everyone lol. But I hear what you're saying and probably agree.

Well done review. Interesting to learn about the style and Chris Pine's influence, vision, and love for LA.

Thanks! I’m not sure how wide of a distribution it will get, but there are so few reviews, and the ones that are out there don’t see it as anything except confusing or pointless, which is not really fair. It does take a while for it to find its legs, and purpose, and if you don’t understand any of the symbolism, it probably does seem pretty random. But if you know what you are in for and looking for, I think it will be received very differently. Half way through my first viewing I was confused, but it got better, and my second viewing was actually pretty enjoyable. But then again, I was putting the puzzle pieces together, but this time I had a picture of the completed puzzle so it was more interesting and less confusing.

Thanks for tuning in David. If you have a chance to watch the film, I’d love to hear your thought?

@@CinemaTechnica My local Regal 13 is not playing it this weekend, so it could suffer from a distribution issue. Hopefully audiences will have a chance to see it. I am not aware of any plans for it to hit a streaming platform at this time.
