Quite fancy a chrome bumper A-series engined Midget. I currently own a 1932 Morris Minor Two-Seater with a 3-speed 'crash' gearbox, cable-operated brakes, and solid front and rear axles on leaf springs. With (probably less after 90-years) 19bhp on tap, it hasn't quite managed to hit 50mph in the time I've had it, hitting a max of 48mph (scary enough), with a factory quoted 52mph maximum within tantalising reach. The car has a single vacuum-operated wiper that is pretty much useless, and no side windows or side screens. It does possess a hood though, but I almost never have it up. The very first Morris Minors (1928-1934) were the basis of the very first M.G. Midgets (the M-Type). I'm just making my way through your Midget content and look forward to future videos.
@@mguytv It is yes. Im Canadian, our terminology varies on things lol. Someone replied on another video as I asked there as well. But thanks for your reply!
The windscreen .... inside and outside needs a damn good clean? As drive in the sunshine all the grime shows. Polished glass always lifts a car...... good with .car, you’ll have lots of fun🙏🤠
"The plughole of doom" Haha :) Great little car (there is a clue to the size of it in its name :P ) You need to tell us what the 'pass' tool does when you find out!
I'm not entirely sure about the word "pootling" to describe the 1970 MG Midget... my 2 class-mates in college (1978-81) would routinely THRASH their 2 Midgets all around the South of England, irrespective of the weather - seemingly without regular mechanical problems! So, maybe that's the answer - drive the dang wheels off it, wherever there are no visible police patrols!?!?
If you want to keep it as original as possible, as you claim, then please don't chrome the wheels. They were painted from the factory and I assure you, you will regret chroming them the first time you try to clean them!
7:21 that piece is the jack handle. Great little car! I bought a '70 for my wife. Great fun. When it runs...
Ah thanks!
Ahhh, the days of a simple engine bay when you could tinker and work on everything… those were the days!

Loving the frequent uploads, keep it up!
Interesting to see the wheel nut remover is the same shape as the MG logo !
What is the round 'button" looking thing down on the rocker panel?
Is that the jacking point cover you're referring to? In what we call the sills in the UK?

Haha sounds like fun! Probably not such a good idea with a 50 year old car...!
65 bhp per standard factory specs
More than enough...!

Good advice - thanks!
