Sir I have doubt in horizontal projection you take g as negative due to downward direction.
But also vertical displacement is also in downward
    Then
    Why it's not H=1/2gt²
    Or -H=-1/2gt²

I have a project due tomorrow, and I’m so lost. I’ve been working on it all day but have gotten hardly anything done. It’s just about over the same stuff in this video, but just a little different. Is there way you can help me understand it a little better or explain what I’m doing wrong?

I’m sorry to bother you three months after you’ve made this video, but I’ve asked just about everyone there is to ask, and I still haven’t gotten any help.

Sorry. Thats not a service we provide. Your teacher should be/is your "go-to" resource on that. If we started providing specific help for students on their projects, we wouldn't have time for anything else.

I had a misconception that during the first second of freefall, an object will displace -9.8 m. But for that, I believe that there would have to be a constant -9.8 m/s from t=0s to t=1s. Is that correct? And that the reason that during freefall, we travel only -4.9 m rather than -9.8 m is that we start from a vertical velocity of 0 m/s and by the end of the first second, we arrive at a vertical velocity of -9.8 m/s, but that because during that second, the velocity was constantly increasing from 0 m/s to -9.8 m/s (rather than beginning and staying with -9.8 m/s), the whole second (except for the last instant of the first second with Vy = -9.8 m/s) didn't experience a Vy = -9.8, so it was experiencing Vy's such as -0.5 m/s. -1.7 m/s, -3.4 m/s, -7.3 m/s to get to -9.8 m/s at the end of the first second, so DURING that interval, the constantly changing velocities from 0 m/s to -9.8 m/s had a net effect equivalent to that of a constant vertical velocity of -4.9 m/s (which we start and end with, with acceleration due to gravity not existential for this equivalence), thus displacing -4.9 m. Is this a correct understanding? Sorry for my Einstein-Shakespeare thought process here.

      That's perfect thinking. The ave. speed is 4.9 m/s. D= (ave. speed)*time.

@@PhysicsclassroomVideos Ohhh, that makes sense! I didn't actually properly understand average velocity until you provided this application over here to my question. This makes much more sense! Also thank you so much for the very quick reply (you replied at a time of 6 mins, so the velocity of response was ... no I'm joking -- that doesn't make sense anyways)! No other RUclips channel has commented that quickly, including physics channels. I appreciate it! I also very much love your videos and the website (my AP Physics teacher highly recommended it as the first go-to). Me and my class like using these resources, so thank you!
