I'm going to developer tools and now SERVICES are called ACTIONS. And also in scripts, services are now called actions. Took me a while to piece it together but everything is the same as you describe just services are now actions. thank you for the video.
Thank you so much, yes I need to do a new video on this topic!
terribly good explained. Would love to give 5 Thumb-ups..
Thank you so much for your feedback! :)
instead of creating a script and using that in a automation i just use the action call service then select remote: send command. The only problem i have is remembering all the commands i created in order to send them. I suppose i could write them all down in notepad or something but were is the fun in that. 😁 I use it to control my TV of course but also use it to control some cheap IR candles and my fireplace insert i bought that just came with a cheap remote control. Using a singled smart plug to monitor the energy through put on the fireplace so i can tell when its on or off, also have some HA helper toggles so can turn it on/off with google assistant when i want to. Use a toggle helper for the candles so i can do the same with them as well.
Great work Tiger, thanks so much for your input!
Hi Simon, Hope you’re doing great. Firstly thank you for uploading a useful video for integrating Broadlink with Home Assistant. I’m having one query can we know the state of the air conditioner whether the ac is on or off using this setup. For instance I have to perform an action when ac is in on state. Please provide me any solution on this.
Hi Pradeep, thank you so much for your kind feedback! As far as I know you can only send commands to the ac, I don't think that you can monitor incoming signals from the ac
Great Video, as usual, Baie Dankie😂
Baie Dankie vir die compliment Elisalant!
Excellent! Does the script can be seen in Apple HomeKit Bridge (for Siri use case)?
Hi there, great question I will see if it shows.

I think it will be easier to just integrate the RM4 directly into Home Kit
Really thanks for this video but I have a question about it, how does this help us? I mean what is the aggregated value of doing this in HA and last but not least is it possible to know the actual temperature on the air-conditioning?
Thank you for your feedback. I find it really useful, especially to remember to turn off the AC when everyone leaves the home. No, I have not found a way to actually received data back from the AC unit like set temperature.
Seems it may be possible www.intesis.com/products/ac-interfaces/universal-gateway/universal-ascii-wifi-ac-is-ir-wmp-1?ordercode=INWMPUNI001I000#:~:text=INFRARED%20COMMUNICATION%20WITH%20THE%20INDOOR,the%20manufacturer%20IR%20remote%20controller.
@@simonsayshomeassistant Wow thanks! One more thing, how do you track who or when someone is at home?
@@Bruttus1983 I use tracking on my iphone
@@simonsayshomeassistant Where Can you see that it may be possible to get the ac temp back on the link you provided ? Having this information is Key/critical imho.
thank you so much, this is very useful
Thank your soo much for your feedback Synco!
Great video - thank you. Do you have any recommendations for cost effective NZ wifi power switches and NZ ready power strips with individual wifi controlled sockets? I'm looking for power monitoring on both options. Next video? Thanks in advance!
Hi Phil, Where are you based in NZ? Glad I could help. Let me know if you are keen have a chat on the phone some time! Athom is the way I would go for great local smart plugs with energy monitoring s.click.aliexpress.com/e/_DmKKDSb
If you go zigbee you could try this one: s.click.aliexpress.com/e/_Dl19Hjz
Doing a video on the ESP Can next, do you have any other video requests?
Is it possible to map that 'tempplus' command, or any other learned command, to a button that's more visually appealing or that's part of a custom card? (or an AC template in this case for example)
Hi that is a great question, I found this link which may help community.home-assistant.io/t/thermostat-card-add-the-ability-to-show-additional-informations/651989
If you have already taught the RM4 Pro a bunch of devices and commands in its own app, is there any way to avoid all that relearning?
Hi Tom, no unfortunately there is no way to transfer the stored codes in the RM4 to Home Assistant :(
Try the Bond Bridge, much simpler setup.
Oh cool thanks for the recommendation!
Hello, is it possible to learn commands for alexa, and also add the broadlink integration to HA (without importing the devices from broadlink to HA which I know is not possible). ?
Sorry not quite sure what you mean. You can use Alexa commands and use broadlink at the same time
@@simonsayshomeassistant Can I use Alexa Commands, and broadlink app, and broadlink HA integration at the same Time ?
Thx, I got my reply just tried and it Works perfectly !
Awesome! @@theattorney6072
Hi Simon, after giving up on this a year ago :-) I have revisited it due to the imminent arrival of my ESY32 S3 Box3 and hopefully voice commands! Still getting an issue tho, after setting up the Remote: Send command and then calling the service I get the following error....
Failed to call service remote.send_command. Unknown error
Any thoughts on what I am doing wrong?
Thanks.
Pat
Hi Pat sorry I have tried to replicate the error on my side without any luck.
@@simonsayshomeassistant Thanks anyway.
What can i do if the leared ir signal is not accepted by my device. I also tried the switchbot universal renote hub and it didn't work either. It's just a basic remote for a gas heater with on off up and down.
@@ivan-j4l9x that is very strange sorry I don't know
Maybe its not an ir signal. Maybe its rf or bluetooth?
@@eyhtwozed2606 That's a really good point!
@eyhtwozed2606 it is a tiny remote with a coin battery has on off up down. The broadlink learns the code so it does send ir. The logitech repeater also flashes when the remote is pressed.
Thanks
So glad that you found this helpful!
I don't understand how the "tempplus" is associated with the actual button. how to you actually learn the buttons?
tempplus is just a name that I assigned to the command, you learn by pressing the call service button and then pressing button on your remote
@@simonsayshomeassistant thanks a lot! I figure it out in the end…for some reason the learning command wasn’t working at first.
Thanks again for making this video!
@@patrupisicivesele Only a pleasure, I am so glad you found it useful! Good luck in your Home Assistant journey!
Trying to use this to open my garage door. Command is learnt OK but when I run the script I get the error message "Command not found." Any suggestions? Thanks.
Hi Pejayw, did you try triggering the command by sending it from the service ?
I have the same problem with an awning via RF. I have set up the broadlink for climate to control my AC and works great with smartir integration but i wanted to control also my awning via RF
Have got this working now. After linking my Broadling ac to Google Home I can now use a voice command to open the garage door. I do this from Android Auto as I approach home, very convenient, no buttons to press 😄@@simonsayshomeassistant
Why are you in a website for the rm4pro ?
Hi, the link is in the description below
exellent video but when i go to run the script i get Failed to call service script/kitchen_blinds. Command not found: 'close_blinds'
Hi Thomas, that's odd. Have you tried recreating the script from scratch?
@@simonsayshomeassistant finally got it working had to create it about 5 times.
@@ThomasColeman That's great news Thomas, did you work out why it wasn't working before?
@@simonsayshomeassistant didnt work it out im not sure if its a bug as i just deleted and re-created the gui code about 5 times and it just started working. very strange.
Grand merci
Only a pleasure, so glad that I could help you!
