This is what the most recent seasons have lacked. Genuine emotion. Both tribes were like a family and Sook Jai, in particular were very close and were very emotional when voting others out. Now, it's just cut throat and 'it's just a game' mentality. Back then it was about relationships and trust and it made the show better. Now there is no emotion. Hopefully they can go back to 16 castaways and stay in the same tribes for longer.
cambed71 it still there. i think the edit only focus more on the strategic part of the game rather than the relationship and survival aspect of the game. Since there hidden immunities and other twist they tend to put focus on that one.
cambed71 I honestly think this was what made Thailand such a boring season; once we hit the merge 5-3 it was very clear the path the rest of the season would take, I understand that want to return to more personalized tribes but it leads to things like cult like alliances and people who refuse to budge from their game, leading to no tension or suspense
TBH this season doesnt get the credit that it deserves. There are so many good and interesting moments this season. The Ted and Ghandia incident which had America talking. The throat grab which also had America talking. The first time the tribes were picked by the two oldest castaways which had Old vs Young where Old pretty much prevailed. So many ground-breaking firsts made in this season. Helen! Helen was probably one of the most entertaining castaways this season (also her killer confessionals). Jan had her pet cemetery. Robb and his personality. Jeff hosting the reunion for the first time. The one and only Fake merge. The pre-merge auction. In my opinion, this season had a lot of twists, drama, and a bunch of power shifts. I liked this season a lot and it definitely is better than some other seasons. I would re watch it if i were you guys.
Survivorbbfreak snoozefest for tv but effective gameplay by the remaining old tribe eliminate the competition then when the time is right turn on each other If ted was smarter his best move was to flip on his alliance but then again he will lose because old school players value honor and dignity it will take a chris daugherty jury management to win.
Brian is the best player. His gameplay is similar to Rob's in Redemption island. However, Brian won on first try while Rob took 4 times to win and won against a bunch of dimwitted rookies who just worshiped him.
Kiran Santhanam other than boston rob. The zapatera players were more deserving but then again they do not have the numbers and matt did not learn from his mistake the first time he was sent to redemption island. Matt's only resume in winning that season if the zapatera tribe and grant were bitter at Boston rob and the rest voting them off.
not a lot of schemer in this season very boring but miss the old times where it is all about building trust and the castaways are in it for the money rather than the fame or so called resume.
I kinda liked this season ngl. Most of the players were some form of annoying or asshole or both but it was entertaining. Brian was fascinating. Whereas Clay was just a sleazy, annoying little twerp, Brian seemed like a full-blown narcissist, who was really damn good at manipulation and getting what he wanted. He was the master of the game pretty much as soon as Chuy Ghan took control, which both made it very predictable and very interesting to see him win it. Shii Ann, Jake, and Jan were my favorites, Shii Ann because she just stayed above all the dumb stuff and played fair, Jake because he just seemed like a mostly sweet, nice guy, and Jan because she was hilarious. It wasn't bad, though the ending sucked.
The best person won, by the way the season played out. But, in a parallel season there is no "fake merge" and Shii-Ann flips to Chuy-Ghan to vote out Penny. And, Shii-Ann wins.
***** I know Probst hated Marquesas. Not 100% but I think I he hated it because of the miserable living conditions like getting bitten by bugs constantly

Terrible pagonging and an unlikable final 5. The cast had some great finds in it that nowadays we could only dream of
