if youve got decks that are official serato accessories like the numark ndx500 you dont have to get the club kit it works perfectly fine with the standard serato software. dont get conned into buying the extra software if you dont want it!
so, if i was to buy timecode vinyl, would i still need to pay for extra software? I have this mixer and two 1200's and never really thought about Serato until now....
Great video! I have this exact setup (Xone 43c / Xone K1 with numark NDX800 CD players) and it is an incredible setup. I plan to add turntables in the future and replace my cd players. I can also use just my 43c with the K1 as I have my K1 faders mapped to the pitch faders in serato. I made the switch from traktor to serato when I got this mixer and haven't looked back. If you are looking for a setup similar to this one...keep this one in mind! High quality of A&H plus more affordable compared to Pioneer and Rane.
You don't want the analog version, even if you are a 100% analog dj; as I am. You want the 43C version with the sound card, and of course, it's more expensive.
I might retire my DJM 900SRT / 800 and switch over to the Xone. I love 43’s simplicity and compact size. Seems fairly cheap considering what it competes against. Cheers.
yo phill I was wondering if i should get a pioneer ddj sx Mk1 then rig it to traktor... so i could use stems with a f1 and mabey a cdj after a Wile (cdj 800 or 1000 mk3) my question is.. would I need traktor scratch for connecting the cdj and f1 into traktor love your vids!
One laptop with one X1 connected would use the 43c as its soundcard for two channels, and the second laptop with the second X1 connected to it would need an external soundcard to plug into the line-in of the other two channels on the mixer. You can’t connect two laptops directly to this mixer
is a K2 native to use with Serato too? I only hear and read about a K1 but nothing about the K2. I assume it should work the same, but it's never explicitly said
+FrOsTyBeArKiD Serato DJ doesn't appear to natively support the Xone:K2 as it did with the K1, though the K2 MIDI controller has incredible mapping capability and therefore works great with a variety of software. Here's extra information on the Xone:K2 - Review & Video: Allen & Heath Xone:K2 DJ Midi Controller: www.digitaldjtips.com/2012/03/review-video-allen-heath-xone-k2-dj-midi-controller/ Allen & Heath Reveals Xone:K2: A Traktor X1 Beater?: www.digitaldjtips.com/2011/09/allen-heath-reveals-xonek2-a-traktor-x1-beater/
No on/off switch for the send/return either, just a wet/dry which is kinda shit. I like being able to cut in the external effects, especially if its a roll effect or something sampled and you wan to drop it in full whack. You cant do that on the xone 42, your limited to having to turn up the effect with the wet/dry which is kind of shit. that and being limited to using the filter on one channel at one time has put me off it as a mixer.
Hi! Do you know a trick to use the send / return of the mixer with the RMX 500? on my xone 42 I have to have them dry or 100% wet so as not to hear what flanger effect it produces.
If im not mistaking, the fx knob only works as send, so the return is directly routed to the master out? have you tried routing the output of the rmx to another individual channer of the mixer? i think this would work the same way as the 92 do, sending with the knob and recieving with another channel, you´ll still have to turn down the dry signal to not get the flanger but will work great with something like a kaosspad.. please let me know if it worked as i´m looking forward to buy one and i need to know if i can do this with the 42 (sending with the knob and recieving the effect in another channel)
No. One filter applicable 3 ways: to a single track, to the entire mix, or to selected tracks in the mix. High pass, wild resonance, lowest frequency: stick to that.
hello, just few clarifications: 1) Is this a digital mixer (or rather ‘digital-analogue’) concerning the internal architecture (so unlike Xone 43) or digital refers only to the fact it has sound card/audio interface built in and architecture is left analogue? 2) Can I use the internal sound card to record mixes with vinyls and cdjs? How is the recording quality? 3) If I want to use serato I still needs to buy a DJ licence + DVS licence, the vinyls + timecode cds? so another 250-300 euro? Thanks in advance Great video by the way
Hey Mike, hope to clear these up for you... 1) The 43c incorporates a premium quality internal 16 Channel USB Soundcard for integration into digital DJ workflows (96kHz, 24bit). As discussed in the features section of their product page "X:LINK - For the ultimate digital DJ setup, connect Xone:K series controllers to the Xone:43C over X:Link for hands-on control over your software. When used with Serato DJ, the Xone:K1 is pre-mapped to control cues, loops and Serato DJ FX for control decks 1 through 4" 2) It has a record out so yes you should be able to record. Pretty decent quality 3) It's Serato DJ and DVS upgrade-ready, which means it's compatible but yes, you'll need to purchase them separately

+Digital DJ Tips I'm serious :) and I am not a hater at all. I love AH's mixers but this one....big no no. -there is light bleed on the VUs (and even other lit buttons) -crack when filter is engaged -line faders are too short (for DJ mixing) at 40mm only and not of Alps or innofader quality/brand -turning on the filter amplifies the sound a little -Midi is minimal -very cheap line switches etc etc....just too many flaws for such a company as AH. At least it is an analog mixer and it sounds great - phew :D

the xone43c works on traktor?
799 when that first appeared , Saw one listed for less than 550 recently
@Sergio Cruz surely not American currency. They still sell for $799 dollars in the States.

It punches far above its weight class.
would you recommend the allen and heath 4D as a complete unit instead of getting a mixer, controller and CDJs?

Intresting mixer
Is it possible to hook up 2 x1s and 2 laptops to the 43c for a back to back dj set? So that 2 decks are going to 1 laptop and 2 to the other ?

what do think about your cable oyaide? i would like get some; but i'am not sure about the diferent between original cable ?
Windows 10 driver is available for that internal sound card?
Yes that won't be a problem.
hi! wich in your opinion is better this one or the rmx 90 dvs of reloop?
does the xone 43c also work with rekordbox dj software? (i'm not a serato guy xD)
It should do as far as the audio interface goes, yes.
It's a wide open interface. The drivers for the mixer can run anything your computer/laptop can download =)

+Ste Mc D You can use the filter on as many channels as you like, not just one at a time.

Hi, can you use this mixer with rekordbox? Or alternativley with a USB playing through the turntables/CDJ
You can use this as a regular mixer with a CDJ (playing off of USB)
Hello... i just wanna ask you if this mixer is recognized even from rekordbox and traktor or just serato.
Traktor & Serato
Does it work with traktor?
Yes
it its normal to loose many soundvolume when use the x:fx knob for send/ return? Thats a big Problem for me :(
No, that's not normal. Have you sent off a support ticket to Allen & Heath? :-)
i have the same problem
i dont get it you get a classic A&H filter but each channel also has a filter for effects?
No. One filter applicable 3 ways: to a single track, to the entire mix, or to selected tracks in the mix. High pass, wild resonance, lowest frequency: stick to that.

Hey!! Between this and the 750m2 which one would you buy?
For me personally it'd be the 750mk2 but I'm not sure that helps you very much, your needs/wants might be very different :)
Hi!!
I have a question. I want to build this setup:
- Allen and heath 43c
- Traktor x1
- Traktor f1
And my idea is to use the built in audio soundcard from the 43c in traktor pro software. Do you know if it will be compatible?
Hey Gabriel, haven't tried that set-up first-hand but believe it works with Traktor :)
Did you go for this set up? Was think g of doing the same
great content, thanks for posting. do keep it up..
+ClectaSkiMusic We try! Thank you for watching :)
It works with traktor2?
Believe it does - look for a mapping inside Traktor audio setup (or for one on Traktor Bible) :)
Can this mixer also connect to Traktor 2 ?
Yes last we checked
It can indeed. Works great with Traktor pro.
I can t record my set with good quality. The output record or the soundcard are very bad
What equipment are you using?
@@digitaldjtips none, he's trolling. The A&H sound quality is the reason they sell mixers.
hello, today I buy a 43c. I want to know if it works with vinyl time code. do you need an external sound card? I have to use 2 technics for time code. thank you
It will work with Serato, Traktor and Virtual DJ timecode for sure, not sure without checking about Rekordbox.
Did you bought 43c? Tell us your opinion
No gain knobs? (well, only on the 'fifth mic/line in' channel
+This Is Deelight Gain knobs are right above the input selector. Theres one per channel. He even says "it's also got a trim" at 4:00
+Veronika Smith Thanks for answering :)
Hi I have a question Whats is the Difference between the 43 and 43C?
The XONE:43C has a built in sound card and some minor colour differences on the control surface graphics.
Thx for the reply! The built in sound card is compatible with traktor?
Unfortunately not, Serato DJ only..
So if I'm using Tracktor I have to buy the XONE 43 not the 43C cuz I cant use the internal sound card ?
TechnoMusicFreak dude what did you got ? I'm thinking of getting this or the traktor z2
what is difference between 42 and 43?
43 has been updated, but we never reviewed the 42 so don't have a list of changes to hand - sorry!
This mixer is plagued with issues. Don't buy it and get something else.
+ARKADIUSZ MIKINA Thanks for your feedback on this :)
