My Black Friday purchase was a antique white Heritage Edition, as I already had the "Strat" you bought. I've only been playing about 6 months, and at 58 years old learning a new trick isn't exactly easy, but it's fun. I like both the Sawtooth model's I have. I use a Fender Champion 20 amp. I did change the strings to Ernie Ball 9's on both. I'm retired so I play about 2 hours a day, and I love it. Love the videos too!
Incredible thud in the bottom end of that chugging! I wish I picked one up. I bought a beautiful maple backed 12 string acoustic/electric that sure looks like the Chinese made affordable series of Guild guitars. Like made in the same factory close. It’s very nice. One impressive thing about Sawtooth and their online distributor:I ordered mine on Dec 02 . By early January, I still had not seen the guitar and I thought I might have missed a delivery, so I emailed them asking about it and explaining my situation. Well I should also mention that I live in Canada. The rep fought back to me immediately with an apology. The next thing I knew I was reading a new message saying they would ship me anew one. Not too long after, FedEx was at my door with a brand new 12 string and a very impressive gig bag. Kudos to them for exemplary customer service. The guitar sounds great too. I would play it at any gig, and my electric instruments do include a mint condition Gibson Firebird V from the mid 90s hat looks like it came right off the assembly line, and a Gibson Custom Shop 58 historic spec Bourbonburst LesPaul among others so at the ridiculous price I got it for Sawtooth can hang with the big dawgs for sure !
Max....you are a damn delight. Please keep doing what you're doing. Since we can't be RL homies, I'll enjoy your company from RUclips. Thanks for all the informative, enthusiastic love for all things guitar.
Agreed. 25" is perfect. It's the scale PRS uses most times. A little slinking than fenders 25.5, a little tighter than gibsons 24 3/4. It's a massive difference.
Purchased the Heritage H70 and it is awesome. I always wanted a LP style guitar ...but the Gibson's cost way too much! I wasn't aware of the Sawtooth brand until Max did the reviews. Thanks again Max for finding us a GREAT deal :)
I used to think they were a cheap clone brand, the first guitar I bought from them was the Hybrid Tele and I took a risk because I saw Mr. Batio playing it. It turned out great, then on another sale I got the Blood red strat hybrid and turned out great as well. On this last sale I bought the Antique white heritage with the FRX along with a red 7 string heritage for half price, they sound and feel amazing, I find myself picking up the heritage more than my actual Les Paul. So far I have 5 of their guitars, 2 of their electric basses and their acoustic sarzo's signature bass, I've had no issues with any of their products. MAX have you seen their new prototypes? I don't need another guitar but I like their "impaler" prototype that I saw, I hope they add more bats to their fret inlays kind of like gibson's flying bats les paul
A true solid flame top at this low price is indeed rare....there is only one other manufacturer that I'm aware of that has guitars with solid tops in this price range. Sounds great. Awesome video👍
I got one of the Fender Precision style basses from them on Black Friday at 50% OFF List Price - Thanks for the Heads Up on that Sale Max. Got it within 10 days of ordering. I'm blown away by it. Played perfectly straight out of the box! Seafoam Green w/ White Pearloid Pickguard. Having a blast and now also a big fan of Sawtooth.
I bought the Heritage 60 guitar in Cali Blue Flame on sale for $175 and I absolutely love it . I do have a bunch of Sawtooth guitars , both hybrid models and they are really cool too ! I have 3 ES models that have been signed by Michael Angelo Batio , super cool , a few other ES’s , one like yours , and an ET in surf green . I feel they are great beginner and mid range guitars for an excellent price . Good day !
I picked up the The Heritage in Satin Black and it amazing. I got a Thank you discount code with my order so I ordered the heritage in Tuscan. They both are really great guitars and really high quality.
These guitars are awesome bought Heritage and a Heritage 70 also a sawtooth st m24 with the Wilkinson tremolo after your Black Friday video thanks making a great video😊
During the December sale I bought the sawtooth parlor acoustic (actually I bought two, only one arrived, I eventually got a refund for the other one being out-of-stock). It is a fantastic acoustic guitar, with fishman pickup/preamp. Have only played it acoustically, have not used the fishman preamp in it yet. I don't see why I would buy any typically very-expensive acoustic, when the sawtooth is so good. It is very bright in tone, overall volume is good, and easy to play. Much easier to play than I remember my previous acoustic being (maybe it was a yamaha), so long ago. Didn't have to adjust anything on the parlor, other than tuning the strings. Holds tuning well even over multiple weeks in various temps and humidity. I have retuned it to D-standard (i.e. all strings dropped down 1 whole step) and it plays fine, no action issues. I wish the Sawtooth Godps web site had a gig bag that they featured for this parlor acoustic. They have several soft gig bags for acoustic but it is not clear which ones will fit their parlor acoustic, they should be clear about it on their web site, if it were more clear I would have bought one or two gig bags already. I have not played acoustic in many years. It is so convenient to pick up an acoustic and play for others or on the couch, without having to plug into an amp like an electric, I had forgotten how much fun an acoustic can be.
I ordered a few during that sale. They were half off. They canceled all but one because they found flaws in them. I am grateful to them. The one I got is outstanding. It is the Hybrid Tele body that has double hb plus the singles. Designed by Michael Angelo Battio. It is an incredible guitar. And I also have that Charvel Desolation that you mentioned, Max. I'd love to hear what you think of it. I love mine.
I bought the Heritage 70 satin black with gold hardware on black Friday for $175 and it's a great guitar. They didn't get it to me by the time they said though but they sent me a coupon for 50% off my next order. Can't beat that. The ebony fretboard for that price is unbelievable and it was set up and ready to play right out of the box. This is my second Sawtooth as I already have a ST M 24 with the Floyd Rose and I just might have to get another one.
Wayne Thompson I bought the Heritage cherry maple burst. Agree with Max that the action is a bit high for me. Sawtooth typically sends a 50% off coupon with each guitar order- at least they did for me and one other RUclipsr who reviewed a Sawtooth bass. So I bought one of the Teles. I've only been playing for about 8 months but find the guitars are a great value. I also have a Wolf AIO as my main and it is by far better quality with Grover tuners and just overall better everywhere (response to a comment below). You are not going to get a Wolf guitar for half off though. I am happy with Sawtooth product at this value point.
Through my iPhone and earbuds, the overdriven tones blew my mind! Honestly, I wasn’t expecting much, but the crunchy “grinding” tones coming out that thing were impressive. Downright nastayyyy!
So a quick update on my purchase for 250.. I think they’re beautiful so when the gave me the 50% off my next purchase I couldn’t help myself so I got a second one in a different color for 175$ love them both! Thanks again!
Hi Max, LOVE your channel, sir! Thanks to your video last year, I purchased the same Sawtooth Sunburst and cream strat that you bought and the Daphne Blue and white Pearl strat as well for $90 each! LOVING THEM!!!!!!! Blessings to you and thank you for all your advice!
I got a double neck guitar kit on eBay.. I put it all together then tuned it like I seen on RUclips.. It's really cool I had to get different string's. Painted it like one I seen.yellow tiger stripes. Black red auto strips on the sides as trim. It is cool ..
I bought a used Xavier 500 pro for $200 and love it. It's everything a LP should be. The Sawtooth guitars are interesting, though. I'm now in need of a good strat type, might try to find one like yours. Keep doin' what you're doin' .... A great job. Thanks
It was actually because of your video about that black Friday sale that I even knew about it. I bought one of the M-24 guitars. I've used it to gig quite a bit. It's help up really well. It's not at all heavy and one thing that's nice is it's dead quiet. The fretwork was spot on. I lowered the action just a tad and that's all I've had to do to it. The neck is a little chunkier than I'm used to on a super strat style guitar but it's not uncomfortable. They're currently doing a blow out so I picked up the relic telecaster with dual humbuckers at 60% off. It just shipped out today so I should have it next week.
Max your Channel has been in my top 5 RUclips Channels for quite a while now . Hope you're doing well and staying safe . Thanks for sharing all the info about all these great Guitars . I'm still working on getting the Firefly Blue Single Cut Guitar . 🎸
I was there when you bought the Black Friday Sawtooth. It was a real moment of vicarious fulfillment, since I'd decided I wasn't going to buy any Black Friday gear. And I didn't. Good to see you still have it. I imagine the bottle of wine you bought at the same time disappeared the day it arrived, which is fine I guess so long as the wife helped you drink it. But hey -- no judgment here. On a different note, I really dig the finish on that LP Sawtooth. Usually you see it described as "lemon drop," but maybe that's a Gibson term and, well, you know ... not safe to borrow too much from Gibby.
Max can't thank you enough for your Black Friday video, I got the Relic version for....get this $275. Love it, my go to....over my strat, musicman, schecter etc.
I didn't hear you mention that the Sawtooth headstock tuner placement, allows for much straighter string pull. (not perfectly straight but would have to be an improvement) This is a known tuning stability issue with Gibson headstocks. Just something I noticed.👍🏼
In the cutaway. It looks awful dark for maple. Many Les Paul Gibson also have the maple show there. I forget what years. Not all.. but the maple is light. Blonde. I sure like the contrast of tones from both pickups .. But Sawtooth is one of the few that makes a Les Paul Style with 24 frets and a top mount FRX Floyd Rose.... That's the one I'd be interested in.. but in its $800.00
Max . . . Max . . . Max, do you have any idea what you’re doing to a 70 y/o brand spanking new guitar newbie? I’ve slowly been learning basic chords on an affordable guitar and here you go and intro a different guitar that is a tad outta reach for now - there will be a few days before I can add a second to my collection of 1. As always, another great video! Thnx, T
Hey Maxx, I wonder if you saw the Doug Marks video questioning if Right-handed players should actually play Left-handed guitars (!) so that the fretting-hand will be the dominant hand and thus improve the ability to shred (much like Batio, playing opposite-handed as a born-lefty), and if so, the way to test this would be to get an inexpensive left-handed guitar and re-learn to play, hoping to eventually be much faster in shredding with the dominant hand on the fretboard (quite a challenging concept). What do you think about this idea?
After watching your video on the strata iorderedone I was going to give it away but after playing it I changed my mind the guitar. Came set up great no problem with frets no buzz sharp fret ends lying had to tune one string g the intonation was spot on a great guitar for any price.
Hi Max! I ended up getting a Firefly FF338 Pro in black with gold hardware, and added some locking tuners. I already had an old LP copy, Strat and a Tele and have always wanted a semi hollow body. Purchased from Guitars Garden based on your reviews!
Who else has recognized that this 'tuscan' flame Sawtooth Heritage model is about 95% identical to the HB SC-550 single-cut? Probably made in one of the same factories as Harley Bentons but with Sawtooth's head and logo. Happens all the time in the manufacturing game, folks. Nothing really wrong with that, just saying pay attention.
I got the blood red ES Hybrid with 5 PUPS in SHSHS configuration. It was hard to keep the tuning stable until I installed a rolling nut. Now it almost competes with my Floyd Rose equipped guitars.
I bought one of the Natural series Spalted Maple guitars. Unfortunately, when It came to setting mine up they found it was defective and they didn't have any other to choose from. After speaking with the management they were so humble and offered me a fantastic deal for my understanding. They made a fan and buyer from this. I have since bought a signature guitar and love it. I would say it is the easiest playing guitar I have and sounds great. I will be buying more, after all, 150+ guitars just aren't enough.LOL
Same. Got a different model Sawtooth. Right out of the box scratchy pot and fretting out in several places. One fret looks like it was filed and not crowned. Has a flat spot. Soured me to them. Didn’t respond to my email about the time it took to send it.
I don't have one of these, but have had the same problem with almost every guitar imported from china? I always expect doing some fret work on a budget guitar.
With that guitar I ordered with it being 50% off sale i will say I had trouble with them communicating back with me about my guitar and it took like over a month to get mine here in Texas..but besides that I love it
I purchased a STm24 with Floyd Rose. It stays in tune. I wonder what pots it has, but its good value to me. Id like to pick up the sawtooth vudu...but its been out of stock for several months.
An honest guitar is something I wish more brands would do. Here is proof a full maple cap and great looking top without a veneer anywhere on the body is affordable and should be done on many different brands like Epiphone which would be far more popular. Which also means plain maple caps could be done so Epiphone’s 50’s models would be much closer to some of the original Les paul models without fmt or qmt.
I bought a Heritage in cherry flame a short time ago. It's a great l'il guitar at a great price point. Ya can buy a lot of guitar for not too much money nowadays. THESE 'are the good 'ol days' for guitars, LOL...
I bought the MAB signed ST-M24 … mine plays/sounds great … so then I bought a Rudy Sarzo signed EP-Series bass … and it sounds and plays great. Affordable way to find some other sounds.
My Agiles are pretty sweet guitars. True solid maple caps, good pickups, top notch build quality. Check the selling prices of used ones. They are not cheap as used guitars.
Hi max pls do review on this derulo dison guitar manufactured by dison guitar china, found one under 250USD with a nice tiger flame lamtop and fret inlay
Nice guitar. I picked up a ibanez my friend bought from a pawn shop. Lp shape single cut. But the scale length. Was at least 24 and a half maybe 24. I didn't measure. But i loved it. I've never played a scale length that short but it awesome. And it had a deep warm tone. But i slightly raised the pickup and pole pieces and took out the boominess it had. Ive never seen that from ibanez unless its a copy of a copy that was copied from another copy.😮🙄
I’ve seen Michael Angelo Batio plugging this line of guitars for a while now. I didn’t think he would stick his neck out and push garbage due to his status as a “ shredder God “. I’d definetly buy a Sawtooth. That particular Heritage would be the go.
I bought a st-m24. Was surprised by how light it is! No neck/fret issues that I've noticed. Does anyone know if fret wear is an issue with these guitars? That's my only concern.
LOL. I get some specific Schecter models because they got the strat shape w/ PRS finish, but a Gibson scale length. LOL. I want the scale of a Gibson on a Fender body. I like the Fender body shape LOL. This one has the LP shape, but a scale in between Fender and Gibson. I know I'm over generalizing as Fender does make some shorter scale freak guitars and vice versa.
@ Box Fan... I also would like Fenders more if they had the option of a Gibson scale length. Warmoth makes Tele and Strat replacement necks that do this. I think you might have to give up one or two frets to achieve this but seriously, most of us don't play those last couple upper-register frets anyway. You can get a 24" scale on a Fender or Squier Mustang. I have two and they are easier to play in some respects than a normal 24.75" or 25.5" scale, especially if you have smaller or perhaps arthritic hands.
that sucks, you are still under warranty. I would contact them for a refund or replacement. I have 4 electric guitars, 1 acoustic 12 string, 1 acoustic bass and 2 electric basses from that brand and I've had no issues with them.
Michael Angelo Batio endorses these guitars as you probably know , they even have a few MAB models and they are nice guitars
Incredible thud in the bottom end of that chugging! I wish I picked one up. I bought a beautiful maple backed 12 string acoustic/electric that sure looks like the Chinese made affordable series of Guild guitars. Like made in the same factory close. It’s very nice.
Agreed!
Great review! 😃 The Tusken Raider sound at 1:16 in the backround was hilarious 😂😂😂
Bought my fiancee her first guitar during that sale- a daphne blue SSS strat, along with a Fender Frontman practice amp. She loves it.🤘🎸
The scale length being 25" is perfect. I like to companies modernizing classic style guitars. Here's to long scale single cuts!
Agreed. 25" is perfect. It's the scale PRS uses most times. A little slinking than fenders 25.5, a little tighter than gibsons 24 3/4. It's a massive difference.
I never tried 25 but I do believe it is the perfect scale for me. 24.75 feels bit too small and 25.5 bit too long
It makes a big difference also for the left wrist. Less injuries with shorter scale
@@chocolatecookie8571 depends on what you like for string tension.
@@chocolatecookie8571 25 is a good mis. Less tension on lower strings, a little more on higher strings. Kind of the best of both worlds.
Purchased the Heritage H70 and it is awesome. I always wanted a LP style guitar ...but the Gibson's cost way too much! I wasn't aware of the Sawtooth brand until Max did the reviews. Thanks again Max for finding us a GREAT deal :)

Loved hearing you play with Dovydas!
Thank you!
I got my daughter the purple bass for $99. Frets are nice and smooth. It feels good also.
Max, I Like the way You did Basic Open chords to Highlight the Clean sounds from the Pickups ! Nice!
They have the blue left handed model for 350$ with 100$ coupon at the moment. If it’s still there next week, I’m getting it! Thanks for your input!!
I bought a red one during that same sale, thanks to you my friend, and I love it !
I bought a used Xavier 500 pro for $200 and love it. It's everything a LP should be. The Sawtooth guitars are interesting, though. I'm now in need of a good strat type, might try to find one like yours. Keep doin' what you're doin' .... A great job. Thanks
I love your videos keeping to the affordable guitars. I have taken your advice more than once
It was actually because of your video about that black Friday sale that I even knew about it. I bought one of the M-24 guitars. I've used it to gig quite a bit. It's help up really well. It's not at all heavy and one thing that's nice is it's dead quiet. The fretwork was spot on. I lowered the action just a tad and that's all I've had to do to it. bought the same model reliced in black , with an ebony fretboard ... ........wow such a great guitar ....
That’s the one I got exactly!!! Incredible absolutely stunning guitar!!
Max your Channel has been in my top 5 RUclips Channels for quite a while now . Hope you're doing well and staying safe . Thanks for sharing all the info about all these great Guitars . I'm still working on getting the Firefly Blue Single Cut Guitar . 🎸
Hey Max,why dont you put price tags on your guitars,in the back round,so it can look like guitar center??
I was there when you bought the Black Friday Sawtooth. It was a real moment of vicarious fulfillment, since I'd decided I wasn't going to buy any Black Friday gear. And I didn't. Got a yellow one at the sale last month, super A+ deal!!! Bought a red one at Christmas also on sale. Love the guitar.
I got the sunburst guitar you showed at the beginning and to say I am unsatisfied is massive understatement.
What happened
I didn't hear you mention that the Sawtooth headstock tuner placement, allows for much straighter string pull. (not perfectly straight but would have to be an improvement) This is a known tuning stability issue with Gibson headstocks. Just something I noticed.👍🏼
I got a vintage white Heritage guitar and I love it and I also bought a base I'm not a bass player but I couldn't resist the half-off deal
That's the one I'd be interested in.. but in its $800.00
5:11 is where the shizzle starts.
Very nice AFD-like bite!

I,m still waiting for a new supply of non defective ET HYBRIDs to arrive at GODPS MUSIC. Ready to give up on SAWTOOTH brand!
Nice review. The pickups sound very similar to Gibson’s Dirty Fingers pickups.

It's like Gibson and PRS had a baby. Pretty cool!
I had a bad experience with the same model with a red top. Lots of fretting out and ended up doing a full fret level.
With that guitar I ordered with it being 50% off sale i will say I had trouble with them communicating back with me about my guitar and it took like over a month to get mine here in Texas..but besides that I love it
Did anybody verify whether the flame figuring itself is a veneer on another maple cap or if it's solid all the way through?
Thanks Max Because of you I bought 5 of the Firefly Guitars! I love them! At 160-180 a copy you can’t go wrong! Thanks again Max!
How was the quality control and frets?
@@brianobrian9334 The Frets we’re a little gritty soI hit them with a little polish.
@@davidmaynard398 did you happen to get the strat version?
@@brianobrian9334 no not yet
@@davidmaynard398 thx bud , rock on
What speakers are you using @Guitar Max? They sound great.
Ok fam -Whats better?: a Sawtooth Heritage, a Wolf/AIO WLP 750T, or an Agile AL-3200MCC?
My Agiles are pretty sweet guitars. True solid maple caps, good pickups, top notch build quality. Check the selling prices of used ones. They are not cheap as used guitars.
Hi max pls do review on this derulo dison guitar manufactured by dison guitar china, found one under 250USD with a nice tiger flame lamtop and fret inlay
Nice guitar. Excellent intro as usual. Sawtooth makes great instruments.
I must have gotten unlucky. Mine is a piece of junk.
Great Video Max !!
I like mine ..I got a sawtooth heritage 70 series with antique white.
Damnit, I didn't want to like this axe as I don't really like Les Paul shapes... but man, it sounded so sweet!
May give sawtooth a try, the wolf guitar i bought was not very good and was really disappointed
I’ve seen Michael Angelo Batio plugging this line of guitars for a while now. I didn’t think he would stick his neck out and push garbage due to his status as a “ shredder God “. I’d definetly buy a Sawtooth. That particular Heritage would be the go.
this is one of the guitars im looking into getting along with the st 24
GUITAR MAX would you please find out why SAWTOOTH still no longer offers the ET HYBRID. It,s been about a
year since my failed purchase order.
Hey there, I think they're just sold out, waiting for more stock to come in.
@@GuitarMAXMusic I've gotten a Gretsch Streamliner instead of continuing to wait.
I bought a st-m24. Was surprised by how light it is! No neck/fret issues that I've noticed. Does anyone know if fret wear is an issue with these guitars? That's my only concern.
I noticed it has almost a straight string pull through the nut. Great for tuning stability.
That's a nice feature. Thanks for pointing that out. I didn't notice.
ohoh I see an harley benton fusion max signature in the background ;P the green flamed one HS eheheh
But it is a vaneer over the plain maple cap correct??
Nice thank you as always I might get me one 😊
251.00 on amazon right now just checked
Yeah, $251 dollars but only 3 are in stock at the moment. That's quite a savings from the price Max mentioned in the video.
Pls do a preview video od Ibanez RG631 ALF AXION LABEL
which is better sawtooh or harley benton
I haven't played a Harley Benton, but I do own multiple Sawtooth guitars. I think they are awesome.
Maple cap but still just a flame veneer.
Cool guitar!!!
Ha....I noticed the Sand People sound....Tusken
I got a Lekato looper w drums for $34
Much better string run through the nut, not as angled as a trad LP. Bet that contributes to better tuning stability.
Ta.
I keep seeing positive reviews on Sawtooth. I bought one during Black Friday. Complete junk. Will never buy from them again.
that sucks, you are still under warranty. I would contact them for a refund or replacement. I have 4 electric guitars, 1 acoustic 12 string, 1 acoustic bass and 2 electric basses from that brand and I've had no issues with them.
🤘 Dude! Nice🎸
I got the white ST M24 with the FR for $379
U should try a grassroots glp-60
Tuscan guitars play in single lines, to hide their numbers
When I looked them up they're over 3 grand not $350...
I really like that top that's nice grain
I bought the 7string with the fishmans. Lefthanded might i add😌
How is it?
@@ChronicMetamorphosis worth buying especially when i got it for half off🤌
Can you make video with the 7-string? 🙏
@@chocolatecookie8571 no lol
@@tonybarber420 it’s okay bro, no need to laugh though

Review an Aria Pro II
Everyone knows the toan is in the headstock decal so this is not playing authentic. /s
Seems like a great option!
That body and headstock reminds me of samick. Hmmm
The heavier the distortion...the more all guitars sound the same
